Before the Sun Rises
Alyssea ticked off the last of her supplies list, sighing in relief once the mark was made. After spending a day in Diagon Alley running around shops and trying to find her supplies (the Remembrall took the most time to find), she could relax and wait for the train ride to Hogwarts in a few days.interacting with @Elizabeth Sunrise
Her father smiled and patted Alyssea on the shoulder. "Good work today. You tired?"
Alyssea nodded. Her feet were aching and her knees felt as if they would crumble at any second. Her father only laughed and pulled her in for a side hug. "Alright, how about we stop by the Leaky Cauldron for refreshments?"
"That sounds good," Alyssea answered.
She took her father's arm and followed as he led her through Diagon Alley. Occasionally, he would stop and chat with 'old friends', he called them. If it took more than five minutes, Alyssea would tug on his sleeve and he would wrap it up quickly, pointing to her and saying, "I'm bringing my daughter to the Leaky Cauldron."
When they arrived, he brought her into the pub-slash-inn restaurant. He brought her to a small table and they sat down. As he asked for her drink, she looked around the place.
There were prospective students, some returning and some new just like her, socialising with many others. Some were with their parents; others were in small circles of friend groups. Alyssea turned back to her father and asked him to get her gillywater.
She went back to scanning the crowd when she saw a blonde-haired girl sitting with her mother. The girl also had short hair like Alyssea, but the difference was that the girl had bangs. Her lips were also quite a striking red colour. Was it natural?
"Siya," her father called out. Alyssea turned her head to meet his eyes. "You should go talk to her."
He used his lips to point in a direction. When she turned back in that direction, she saw the same blonde-haired girl with red lips. "I knew her mother during my time. She was nice."
"Should I?" Alyssea asked.
He nodded. "Go on. I'll be here if you need anything."
Alyssea nodded back and stood up. "Just call me when my drink is here," she said. She turned back to the girl and began walking over to their table.

OOC: Are you okay with me making up the "I knew her mother during my time." by Alyssea's father? It just seemed like some way to get Alyssea and Elizabeth to connect and start their interaction.

Before the Sun Rises
When Alyssea arrived at the girl's table, she didn't really know what to say. She had no real business going up to her, only that she wanted to say hi because her dad said she should. Plus, the girl did look cute.interacting with @Elizabeth Sunrise
Alyssea cleared her throat. "Hello?"
Her voice came out more croaky than she intended, but she dismissed it as quickly as it came. Fake it 'til you make it, her directors used to say. And boy, was she good at it. The girl zoned back into the moment and greeted Alyssea back.
Elizabeth Sunrise was her name. Sunrise was a strange surname in a way that it was too simple. Then again, Brown was simple, wasn't it? But the Brown family were a pure-blood wizarding family; her father was just a half-blood.
However, her father mentioned knowing Elizabeth's mother during his time at Hogwarts. Was her mother pure or half-blood? It would make sense for her to be here at the Leaky Cauldron now. Or perhaps she was a Muggle-born witch and her father had the wizarding blood?
There were too many combinations to deal with for now.
Alyssea turned to Elizabeth's mother. "Ma'am, my father told me he knew you during his time at Hogwarts. Would you happen to remember him?"
Soon after, her father called out. She turned to see him, then turned back to the pair and bowed her head slightly. "That's my father! Shall I get my drink and come back? I do enjoy our chat."

OOC: Just a reminder for RPs that you can't God-mod! I control my character and you control yours. It'll feel awkward at first because it will seem very one-sided when you type your own, but if it's a word count issue, often going in-depth about your character's actions makes up for it.

When Elizabeth nodded, Alyssea returned to her father and took her glass of gillywater. She gave it a sip as he asked, "How did it go?"interacting with @Elizabeth Sunrise
Once she swallowed the liquid, she replied, "They were nice. I didn't manage to talk to Mrs Sunrise, but I talked to her daughter."
Her father nodded and sipped his drink. Alyssea asked what he got and he showed her his glass of fire whiskey. He wasn't one to drink often, but perhaps he wanted it to celebrate the occasion. After all, he could never do it with her brother; that was her uncle's job now.
Anton had fire-called her not long ago asking about her preparations. She admitted to not having her materials prepared yet, but he just laughed it off and talked her through a long list of things to expect. Though he added the occasional 'it might be different at Hogwarts', she enjoyed hearing about his time at Ilvermorny. He hardly talked about school to her.
A tap came onto her shoulder and she turned to see who it was. There was Elizabeth, bent by her ears as she whispered her hurried leave. Alyssea let out an 'aww' of disappointment.
"Hope I see you on the Hogwarts Express."
Alyssea nodded. "I hope to see you, too! Bye!"
Elizabeth hurried out with her mother and Alyssea sighed. Her father huffed. "It'll be alright. I'm sure you'll see her."
With a nod, she drank her gillywater.

OOC: It's okay! It was just a reminder
) And I totally get it, everything's so new and different and there's a lot of rules, but it's alright to get it wrong the first time. Anyways, shall I continue the thread onto the Hogwarts Express? Owl me about it.
