Well, someone could look at Simon’s current position in one of two ways: it was good that his intended projectiles had missed their target because he wasn’t a violent person and didn’t want anyone to come to harm - or it was most unfortunate that they didn’t hit because that could have helped his team.

The race hadn’t been called off yet, which meant that Gryffindor, which may or may not be ahead (Simon didn’t know at this point) but they hadn’t crossed the finish line yet.

What could one really say about badgers? When they were down, they weren't out and with no one yet over the finish line, the race between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor was still in progress. Simon hoped that they could finish first and he hoped he could contribute somehow into helping make that happen. Race on!

Unleashing the inner furry with @Hugh Lowe

It felt a little strange, admittedly; the feeling of total blindness. It was hardly a setback, still. An excuse to show off one's skill with adaptation, if anything. Improvise, adapt, overcome. If there was one thing Xailah had a handle on, it was change and adaptation. She gripped both fiercely by the horns, forcing them into submission. It was what she had always done in times of uncertainty, and it was what she would continue to do- even during something as tame (in comparison to some other experiences) as a broom race.

It occurred to her just how quiet everything was; it was as if the whole world had suddenly fallen still. She heard the crunch of her bootfalls atop the earth and mush snow; and there was the low howl of a waning winter wind. But there was no whistle- from broom, racer, or oncoming spell. No signs of detectible life outside of the blindfold and her own being.

There was only silence, for the most part; like everything living had fallen asleep the moment sight had been stolen.

And it was weird.

The metamorph treaded onward, her breathing synchronized with every swift step and bound. He heart beat in her head. In her hands. In her throat. She crouched slightly, her arms extended towards the ground, fingers splayed like a great claw ready to rake up whatever was swept into their grasp. The digits would scrape along something hard. They grabbed, already knowing what the object was without having to see it. Xailah knew her brooms shape; it's firmness, density and imperfections. How it felt underneath a glove. After all, it was her hands that had refurbished the mount. The lioness grinned as Delta was secured once again. There was little time wasted remounting.

With that minor inconvenience solved, there was now a second matter that needed to be addressed: Gryffindor's place in the race. Was Hugh still around- was he still in the race? Xailah didn't hear Starlee announce otherwise. At least, she didn't think she did. A good sign, Xailah hoped. We've still got a bit of luck on our side. But she still wanted to check, make sure she wasn't the last lion standing- er, flying? Luckily, she knew just the trick to use.

There was something Gryffindor did- and only Gryffindor. They had their own funny way of communicating. When others were too far away, and they wanted to express triumph or excitement, they would howl. Roar. Probably because they were all closeted furries. They would summon the most raucous sound imaginable, and sing it. And you know what? It worked. It got the message across every time, and gave an idea of where everyone was. Now, it was usually the boys that did this little war cry. The girls were relatively quiet. Today though, Xailah would puncture that barrier. With a great inhale (and an even greater exhale), she released a beastly twist of a roar and a howl. "AHWOOOOOO." Could Hugh hear her? Would he call back- could he call back?

Serena had no idea what was happening anymore. This was like a round of combat in the famous muggle game of Dungeons and Dragons where nothing actually happened as everyone missed their attacks or people were resistant. Each round was only six seconds, after all - what did people really expect to happen in such a small amount of time?

In the same regard, she seemed to do nothing - and most of her team seemed to have fallen under the same spell. Perhaps the sound of Hugh Lowe roaring down the track made everyone tremble. Perhaps the way Nicholas' Xailah's hair flicked in the wind distracted people. Who knew? Either way, Gryffindor were on the move and the Badgers needed to play catch up.

What for the love of Bodrig was wrong with the young goblin? She had no idea but she had to continue. There was no time to waste, they were coming down to the wire now.

This slender Scots Pine would make a fine Christmas Tree but this tree was modified with purpose. A metallic framed seat complete with windshield and stirrups has been added at the back, serving as the tree's counterweight. This sturdy, reliable tree that will definitely get the job done.

Speed: Top Speed is 6, however when you reach a speed of 6 this increases to a 10% chance that you will auto miss (with anything requiring an accuracy roll) and you will be auto-hit (with anything requiring a dodge roll).
Ability: Immune to broken broomshaft.
This broom is intended to carry multiple people. When someone uses the catch option to rescue a falling teammate, they can catch one additional teammate in a given round. This broom can carry up to four users. If the user has the ability Catch then a user can catch an indefinite number of teammates in a round, but for each person they catch after the first there is a stacking 20% auto-failure chance. Returning users to their broom is a free action for the owner of the blue bottle, but those being returned to their broom need to use their action getting to their broom. Only one person can be returned to their broom as a free action (for the owner) per round, they can use their action to return a second user however.

Welp. There was a bit of a hiccup in the strategy there, was confusion seemed to take over for the poor bewildered Hufflepuffs. Perhaps it was due to the giant careening down the track on fire past their front runner. Regardless, some hasty action would need to be taken to recover their lead... maybe not by George, though, considering how woozy he felt back here.
