First Year Potions 101
Marcus looked over Caitlin for any injuries "She's right, though..I didn't know that combination of ingredients heals burns, that's impressive." He praised Caitlin with a smile as he looks over himself just encase for any of the potion, not seeing any he sighs in relief "Good" he mumbles, he watches the student go up to Caitlin and chuckles at what she says "I think you probably freaked him out even more by saying that" he teased then laughed softly taking his wand out "Mundus" He mutters cleaning the excess potion off the floor "We'll need to have someone repair the cauldron, I could use the repair spell but I'm tired" he stated with a shrug.
Looking over to Vera, he shrugged once more "Someone seems to want me to go away" he teased her with a grin then chuckles softly, moving to check his cauldron and the potion "Should be good in..five to ten minutes as it's a light red color." he told Vera, looking around for a clean, open seat and sat down in a slouch and relaxed posture, whistling a soft tune as he waits patiently for the potion to finished 'Hopefully I'll get an Outstanding on my first potion."

First Year Potions 101
Joanne was sitting in the far corner, looking more than a little concerned at her books. Her parents hadn't been good at potions, and seemingly she wasn't that great at it either. She had no idea how any of it worked. So, in all honesty, she just did something and hoped it worked. The ingredients didn't make sense, and the measurements were so very precise. It was all very stressful. There was a red hue on her cheeks from the shear stress and focus. She only glanced up once or twice whenever someone talked, but she was afraid to intrude if she'd just start talking to them out of nowhere. So she stayed put, trying to nail the assignment.
She turned to grab something, but then dropped another thing. Whatever the things were she dropped, she had no idea. What was what? Joanne sighed a frustrated sigh and felt tears burning in her eyes. She hated to fail for things, but damn her if she started crying right now. Joanne took in a deep breath and shut her eyes for a moment, her lips tight with frustration. "Could someone help me please?" she dared to ask her new classmates, "I don't even know where to start and I'm messing everything up.."

Caitlin gave a short nod and kept mumbling to herself as she went over the potion under her breath. "Then three turns to the left and five to the right and it should come out a nice sliver." She glances up at Marcus with a smile and a small blush. "My father was a potion master before he was killed, taught me everything I know. Including that yellow is never good for any potion, no matter what you are brewing." She chuckled once before finishing checking the students. "No one has any potion on them except me, fun." Caitlin rolled her eyes before turning to Marcus. "Can you help. I need someone to turn the potion every 9 seconds and I can't do that and crush the Aloe." She moved her hair away from her face as she turned to the aloe plant and got to work. She nodded as you started to turn the potion as she added the Liquid of the Sun to it so it turned a pale green-yellow. After 13 minutes she bottled 12 different viles of it. "That should do it." She corked 11 of them and left one open which she handed to Marcus. "Can you pour it. I hearts like all get out and I never have the courage to do it. Just pour it directly onto the burn."

Arceus who was in the background quietly making his potion on his own was just staring wide- eyed at everything that just happened. He hoped Caitlin was ok and he wanted to ask her but he didn't think she even noticed him coming in late for class and he was right at the back so he would have to maneuver between all the desks.. for Caitlin it's worth it He thought so he put down his mess of a potion and started slowly walking to the front where she was, "Caitlin" He said softly but she was too immersed in what she was doing to hear him, he finally reached her and muttered a quick "H-hi how are you" Hi how are you? You saw what just happened and you say that! He instantly regrets saying it but he can't do anything about it so he looks at her and with genuine concern in his voice asks "Are you ok?" He for one hates it when people act different if he's injured because his mum would always baby him when he got hurt but now he didn't know what to say.So he just said "Do you need help I already ruined my potion to the point of no return" And he smiles at her.

Ava walked into the classroom and saw another first-year Hufflepuff student sitting down in the corner of the classroom with someone else. They both seemed like they did not know what they were doing. 'Meh, you're not messing everything up. Dropping something is not that bad. Mistakes happen.' She approached them with a small grin on her face. 'I will gather the ingredients.' She left the girl with her partner and started gathering the stuff that she needed. Bicorn horn, mandrake root, ginger... Easy. Her mother, as she worked at the St. Mungo's hospital did it more than a thousand times and Ava watched her do it every time she did it. She put the ingredients on the table and started brewing. Two teaspoons diced ginger... she started chopping the ingredients, moving them away from each other so she knew which one was which. 15 minutes passed by. 'Now it needs to sit for another 4 minutes.' She took a look at the two she joined with a small grin. Afterwards, she looked around. Marcus, and some students she did not know. Nothing surprising to be honest. She didn't have to know everyone in the school. Before she knew it, it was time for the next step. The green potion slowly turned colors to dark red. 'Perfect.' She smiled and looked at the girl and her partner 'What?' She realized she did not wait for their answer to her offer. Ava shrugged it off and leaned against the table. 'So, what's your name?' she asked the girl with a small grin.

Ava's appearance was like that of an angel, like muggles would say, or so Joanne thought. While they were trying to make sense of the words on paper, she reassured her that she wasn't doing as horrible as Joanne thought she was doing. "Thank you.." she muttered as she watched the girl grab the ingredients for her. She thought that people from house Slytherin would be cruel, like she had been warned by so many people, but she was being so very kind to her. Joanne really appreciated the help.
"How do you know so much about potions?" The liquid was slowly turning color to a darker shade, more towards a brown. No.. Red. It was turning red, Joanne saw. Sure, she had watched what the girl had done, but most of it had already slipped her mind. The help had came quite abrupt after all.
"My name is Joanne. And yours?"

Caitlin smiled at Arceus. "I am fine dear. Have you been checked for the potion?" She went into mother hen mode and patted him down to make sure he was okay. "You are good. Nothing got on you so you should be fine." She smiled and sighs as she bottled the potions each one a bright silver that matched her eyes in the moonlight. She handed one to Marcus and gave him the instructions on what to do. She gripped the edge of the table in preparation for the pain that was sure to come. "Hey, Arceus. Talk to me. Keep me distracted." She stood on her good leg and basically leaned over the desk to keep from falling. "So I was born in the fall, my star sign is a Libra, my favourite colour is Silver with a hint of a gold dusting. I love the fall season the best because of all the warm colours. Dark chocolate is my favourite chocolate because of the taste and I find it romantic and... " She trailed off with a loud curse word as the potion was poured onto her skin. Caitlin's grip on the desk increased and she squeezed her eyes closed.

When he saw Caitlin in that much pain he went up to her she told me to talk to her what do I say i don't want to be stupid but she's in pain I have to say something now! "Umm ok Caitlin you're ok, well my favorite color is orange red and yellow too, I like all chocolate it's all delicious and umm.." I don't know what my star sign is!? He didn't know what to say so he just did the first thing he could think of and gave her his hand to hold at first she held it really tight because of all the pain she was going through but then she stopped and held it normally. "Are you ok now? Do you want to sit down?" What do I do now? Should I keep holding her i mean I don't want her to lose her balance and fall so he kept holding on to her. "Umm.." He said with his face as red as a tomato "Ok.. I', going to slowly put you down on this chair.." He wanted to run from class but at the same time didn't want to get detention so he just stood there like an idiot.

Caitlin let out a tired giggle and sat back down on the stool. "I will be fine in a few minutes. No pain, no gain am I right?" She smiled softly at Arceus and sighed as she ran her fingers through her frizzy hair. "You are super cute you know that? Just like the little brother I always wanted." She said as she ruffled his blond hair. "I would adopt you if I could," Caitlin said as she picked up a rag and wiped the excess potion off of her now healed leg. She stood up and grabbed her bag and put her books and the rest of her equipment away. "Want to help me take these to Madam Pomfrey? I don't want them to just go to waste now that we have them." She chuckled as she slung her bag over her shoulder and picked up three of the six remaining potions. "Come on, the class is almost over anyway." She turned to her potions partner and said, "Do you mind bottling that and turning it in for us? I'll make it up to you later. Thank you!" She giggles again and hummed a tune as she walked out.

'Ava Silver, at your service.' The girl giggled a little. 'Great to meet you, Joanne.' Now... three turns to the left and five to the right. Still focused on the potion, she replied. 'My mum was working in the St. Mungo's Hospital. After watching her do it for a thousand times, you can make it pretty easily.' She shrugged it off as the potion was turning out well. 'Turn it every nine seconds...' She mumbled under her breath. The potion was looking good. Ava started humming a joyful melody of a song her mother always sang to her. She continued making the potion until it was ready. She poured some of it into small phials and corked them. 'Should be enough.' Ava said and turned to Joanne. 'As I said, great to meet you.' She smiled and looked around. Some drama was going on. She shrugged it off and continued to talk with Joanne. 'What house are you in? Do you have a partner yet?' She looked at her curiously. She actually would not mind partnering with this girl. She did not judge her for being a Slytherin and actually been nice to her. 'Sorry, if I'm asking too many questions... I'd just want to get to know you better since it seems like we'll have to be partners for a while.' She smiled and looked at the girl, waiting for an answer
