An unexpected confession Closed

His first class six the day had gone pretty well for the most part, Until someone had failed a spell or something. There was a loud head turning bang. Literally. André looked over to see what had happened, but it wasn't anything of much interest.

With a sigh and a shake of his head he looked back towards his items, getting ready to write some more notes down on what not to do. When he saw something between his pages of his notes. He thought it wss just some lose page. After he grabbed it and read it though, the handwriting and just the contents told him be was dead wrong.

It could gave been a cruel joke, but it also could have been very real. People have been telling him how he was very pretty since he was young. So it could probably be just that. But this was a love confession. The girl he who had wrote it Winona, he had seen here around. In class mostly, but he hadn't talked to her at all.

It wasn't that she wasn't pretty or anything, but André just wasn't interested in anything like that right now. He would have to let her down slowly. Perhaps they could be friends though? This is what led the aspiring duellist to the study room after his first class.

He had been in the room a few times before. When he felt he had to actually study. As he refused the library. Entering the room he looked around for the girl. With the note held in his hand. Soon he did see her leaned against one of the walls. He walked up to her his heart was beating faster then normal, he hadn't rejected anyone before. "Hey, your Winona right? You left this in my notebook?" He asked returning the note she had left.

The moment she noticed a shadow around the door, her eyes widened a little as she turned her head to see if it was her crush, but felt let down when she noticed she was wrong. She hung her head in disappointment, which lasted a couple of seconds at most and left its place for astonishment.

A wide array of emotions could be read from her face, the most prominent being cluelessness. It took her a moment to observe the boy standing in front of her to understand how she messed up, as she recalled seeing André in class. Nothing seemed to be wrong, or possibly unattractive about him, in fact if the situation was different, she would've thought he was quite cute. However right now, she was horribly disappointed in herself for the mistake she made.

"Um, yes, I wrote it." As she took the paper from his hand timidly, her voice lacked the enthusiasm of someone who just wrote a letter talking about how gorgeous he is.

Which one would be more heartless, pretending to like someone or telling him the note wasn't meant for him? She had to think quick, and the option of pretending seemed much easier at the moment.

"I'm sorry if I bothered you, but I really wanted to reach out."
Whilst talking to him, a slight reddish, pink hue was starting to show up on her pale cheeks from embarrassment. While waiting for his reaction, she tried to study his expression to understand if he was interested in any way. In order to avoid coming off as creepy while staring at his eyes, she faked a little smile.

André was confused. For nothing more then a moment. The expression on the girls face was, clueless? The boy had decided that she must not have expected him to come, or that he would take a bit longer for her to prepare. Darn. Was he stressing her out? This was going 'great'

"Ah! Don't worry, you didn't bother me at all" he gave her an awkward sort of smile. It was a bit hard for him to not notice the pink flush on her cheeks. Darting his eyes to avoid her's. "In fact I'm kinda happy you did..." he said. Looking back up to her. Yes it was probably best for her to tell him, so that he could let her down now. Hopefully she would move on from him.

He really didn't know how to word this. André absolutely did not want to hurt the girls feelings, that wouldn't be good at all. But she had to know! It would be horrible to lie to her. "Ok. So Winona, I like you. As a girl, friend. But not in the girlfriend sort of way." the words all came out fast, in a blurb, she would probably be able to understand though. was that right? The wasn't really a friend, she could become one.

He looked back at the Slytherin, offering the friendliest smile he could muster."Sorry..?" he questioned, was that the right thing to say. He didn't feel the same, and it probably didn't feel great to be rejected. Without a doubt.

Hearing those words come out of André's mouth reassured her that this instance wouldn't progress into something bigger, but stay as a weird memory for a while at the very most. Quietly, she sighed in relief, the way he was being polite about the situation also made it less difficult for her. She never thought she could possibly feel so relieved about being rejected.

"I understand, thank you for being honest about it at least." she said calmy. Now that she was rejected, she couldn't possibly tell him it was a mistake. That would make her look like a petty girl who made it up because she couldn't get over a rejection! No one would want to get a poor reputation during their first year of school.

The only thing she had to do now was to get out of this mess smoothly, if someone else found out about this they might not be as kind as André. "I hope you don't tell anyone about this. It could be a little embarrassing for me." it's a goldmine for gossip, she wanted to say. It wouldn't bother her too much if people were talking behind her back, but what if her crush heard about it? She didn't want to ruin her chances just yet.

Winona looked up at André's face, with a shy smile and innocent eyes, quietly begging for him to keep this secret.

"Why wouldn't I be honest? I feel bad about it, but if I lied and led you on, I just.. It wouldn't be right." he said rubbing the back of his neck, avoiding her eyes. Eye contact would not make things any better. If anything things would get extremally awkward, at least for the Hufflepuff. He should have expected something like this would come up, sometime or another. He had been told that he was 'distracting to look at' ever since he was like six.

He did not really like it, it was just part of who he was. that along with amazing jokes, owner of a beautiful owl, a badger, and what will be an amazing duelist. Who wouldn't like him? It was annoying at times. Thankfully this girl was the only one at hogwarts to confess so far. If any more showed up he would really get annoying, but he could deal with one. He knew people had looked but no one confessed feelings. Not like this.

André met her smile with one of his own. He understood why she didnt want people to know, "Yeah of course, I wont tell anyone. Promise" That was a small lie. He would tell a few people, a guy and a girl he knew as mom and dad. He also would be writing it in a letter, not exactly saying words. This was just all new to him, so he needed to get some advice from his dad and mom. The people he got the looks from, they had to know if he did this right.

"So I understand if you dont want to, with all that happed. But- I was wondering if you maybe wanted to be friends?" He asked and finally looked her it the eyes, his brown meeting her Hazel ones. He hoped this made him look more sincere.

Being asked a question to become friends was something Winona didn't anticipate in the slightest. After all, throughout the entire school year, not a single person showed any kind of interest in interacting with the cold, unsociable Slytherin who didn't talk to anyone voluntarily and spent most of her time studying.

This lack of socialization she had experienced made her believe that just like everyone else, the charming boy standing in front of her couldn't possibly want her as a friend. With a kind soul and pretty face, it seemed he could befriend anyone he wanted, therefore the friendship proposal must have been nothing more than an act of politeness.

It made the young girl feel almost belittled, looked down upon. Maybe she was just overthinking, or this stress she felt could have been the result of some sort of an inferiority complex, but the proper thing to do for the time being seemed like responding with the same, kind manner. For this reason, the annoying thoughts in her head were going to be ignored for now.

Nodding her head in approval, she spoke with a calm, soft voice "I don't see why not. I would love to be friends." the shy smile on her face, and the naive look in her eyes as she looked at the Hufflepuff seemed to do a good enough job of hiding the thoughts racing through her mind, or at least she believed so.

Who knows, maybe if the two of them spent some time and developed some amount of trust, then she could possibly tell him about the mistake she made with her confession. Though, for the time being, she highly doubted André would willingly want to spend time with her after this awkward interaction.
