It was early in the morning and Argahlon was already up and about. The rain was pelting against the roof of the castle and the sound of thunder cracked loudly throughout the halls with each lightning strike. The young red haired boy was sitting inside the Gryffindor Common Rooms with a cup of warm tea that had a lemon resting on the rim of the mug. Argahlon found himself studying for a test in the Defense Against Dark Arts class, his face almost pressed against the book while reading the information inside. He wasn’t sure what to expect on the test, so he wanted to prepare himself the best he could.

With time passing by much faster than Argahlon thought, he quickly closed up the book and gathered the rest of his things needed for his classes that day. The redhead threw on his black robe, which had the Gryffindor patch on the chest, and made his way out of the Common Room area. His first journey and always the longest, was making his way down the dreaded changing stairs. Not once did Argahlon make it down correctly, he always found himself back at the portrait or lost within the castle itself. Life was a constant struggle and Arg had to learn everything the hard way.

After showing up to the Defense Against Dark Arts class just a few minutes before the lesson began, Argahlon found a seat that was almost directly in front of the professor. The young boy gently placed the book on the desk and glanced around the room at the other students, who seemed to be ready to begin as well. The thunder from outside the castle rumbled loudly and the rain began to pelt against the windows inside the classroom. To Argahlon, it felt like the perfect weather for such a class.

Once the lesson began, the professor let them all know that they would be learning the Knockback Jinx, or also known as Flipendo, which is the incantation of the Jinx. A smile quickly stretched across the face of the redhead and opened his book to page eighty-one as instructed. “Wow, this is really descriptive, but I can’t wait to learn more spells.” He thought to himself, as he flipped the page to glance at what was on the other side for a short second, before flipping it back over and paying attention.

The professor went over the basics of the Jinx and even demonstrated it for the entire class to see how it worked exactly. Arg was rather impressed with what he saw, which caused the young redhead to crack another smile. There was still so much for him to learn and Argahlon was more than excited to keep adding spells to the things he learned during his first year at Hogwarts.

Now, it was time for each student to get a pillow and attempt the spell themselves. Arg quickly stood from the desk and acquired the small, pink pillow and returned it back to his desk. With a downward curve of his wand, then stopped, and brought it upward to finally finish it off with a nice, little hook before speaking the incantation. “Flipendo!” He spoke firmly, but absolutely nothing happened. He sighed, but noticed from his peripheral that a student got it on the very first try.

Lucky for Argahlon, because that person happened to be sitting at the desk to his right. The young boy tried the Knockback Jinx once more and yet again nothing happened to the pillow. He glanced over to his right once more and smiled slightly. “I don’t know what I am getting wrong. You seem to be having no issues with this one.” He admitted to the dark haired kid beside him.

Ashley did not particularly enjoy rainy days, and the worst thing for him were thunderstorms. If the day was like this, it could only mean one thing: the boy was unhappy. He would want to spend the entire day sleeping, not particularly to interact with anyone. Unfortunately, Hogwarts' schedule doesn't operate that way, and Ashley would be distraught if he failed every class.

One of his favourite subjects, Defense Against the Dark Arts, was unquestionably one in which he excelled greatly. In addition to having mastered a spell before what first-year students are taught, he would prioritise memorising it over all other subjects. He would occasionally spend the majority of his free time honing his wand skills and incantations; as a result, with Professor Orion's assistance, he was able to learn a spell above his year.

As the thunder erupted, Ashley was already in his classroom, and he was immediately startled. He abhorred thunder so intensely that it was evident from birth that it was not one of his natural components. The topic of today's lecture was Doxies, among other things. The boy was prepared for class; in fact, he starts preparing a week ahead of time so that when he shows up, the information is already fresh in his mind. Most of the time, he is far ahead of his curriculum, which strengthens the argument.

Time flew by as the students were taught quickly, and when the professor gave them a thorough explanation and finished the course, it was time for the pupils to demonstrate what they had learned. The pillows had been set up, and it was now time for the pupils to demonstrate their abilities. Due to his prior studies on the spell, Ashley encountered no difficulties.

He pulled out his 32.1 centimeter Aspen wood wand and pointed it towards the cushion the professor had set. The tip of Ashley's wand then lit up brightly crimson as he drew a modest downward curve in the air, followed by a fast ascent with a tiny hook at the end.
After finishing, he uttered "fli-PEN-doh!"
The pillow was the objective of the spell, and when the red light colour was directed towards it, it had the desired effect of knocking the pillow backwards, proving the spell's success. He appeared to be the first student to learn the spell completely and correctly at once.

He observed a young man with red hair who appeared worried about the spell failing as he went to settle down at his desk. The second young man then said, “I don’t know what I am getting wrong. You seem to be having no issues with this one.”
"Well, I have to admit that it took me some time to get this perfect. I've watched you cast the spell, and I must say, I really like your resolve. Recall the lessons we learned in Charms?
Casting a spell requires concentration as well. Your wand movement and incantation are accurate, but you must focus in order to cast the spell successfully or you will struggle to get the fundamentals right."
As he put his wand away, he gave the other lad a pat on the back. "Relax, and let's try again. Should we?"

Shiloh looks outside, past the window of the profesor was rain droplets. she always loved the rain, even in the summer. She always found it calming and breathtaking at the same time. As Shiloh pulls out her book, her classmate ashley montez reaches over her shoulder. what is this guy doing she thought. without realizing he was grabbing the ink and quill in front of her
"May i use this?" he asked kindly with a sound of fear in his voice.
"Of course" she said, handing him the things, noticing his beautiful blue eyes while he was focused on the lesson plan.
Shiloh sat very anxiously in clas, waiting for it to end. the professor had started lecturing and she could feel her anxiety rising more and more. it wasn't like her, usually she had no problems whatsoever and just went through life. but today was different and she didn't know why. she couldn't get the class out of her head and all the bad vibes were creeping inside her stomach, making it hurt more than usual. she tried to calm down by focusing on the lecture, but still, she felt the anxiousness getting worse and worse. finally, after an excruciatingly long hour, the class period ended. Shiloh got up from her seat, her long blond hair falling over her shoulders. once outside, the cool breeze helped relieve some tension, so she let out a sigh.

Argahlon was not very confident in his ability to cast spells, but when it came to athletics, he was in tiptop shape! Sadly, this lesson had absolutely nothing to do with sports, so he was stuck trying his best to focus on the task at hand. The Knockback Jinx was something his father told him stories about when he was younger, which made him excited to learn anything that dealt with Defense Against Dark Arts. Unfortunately Arg was not excited at the moment because of the failure to cast the spell. The pillow wouldn’t budge and it seemed as if he was doing everything right.

Lucky for the young red head, the student next to him seemed interested in helping him practice the spell. After the reassuring words and a slight pat on the back, Argahlon smiled lightly and nodded with confidence. “Hey, I appreciate your help. And you are absolutely right, I need to focus!” The excitement in his voice grew with each word he spoke. The confidence was slowly coming back, but would it be enough to allow him to focus properly? One way or another, Argahlon was prepared to try his best no matter what.

Arg took a deep breath before attempting the correct wand movements. It was a pretty easy one to learn and perfect, but the emotions behind it was the reason he failed. This time he remained calm, focused, and prepared for what to expect from watching Ash cast the spell perfectly each time. He exhaled slowly, while performing the final hook at the end, before speaking the incantation clearly. “fli-PEN-doh!” He kept his eyes open and hoped for the best. The blue light appeared from the tip of the wand, then it struck out towards the pillow. The pink floof ball barely moved an inch, but it was better than nothing at all. This meant the spell actually worked. It may have been super weak but that only means that Argahlon would have to work on everything he just did to make the spell cast correctly.

(Sorry for the wait! Work has been hectic as you know already)

In all honesty, nothing beats perseverance. The other boy was committed to making this enchantment succeed. Ashley was so talented and knowledgeable about defence against the dark arts that he was able to learn a spell that was one year more advanced than him. Additionally, he would go above and above to perform admirably in his favoured subject, Defence against the Dark Arts.

“Hey, I appreciate your help. And you are absolutely right, I need to focus!”

"Sure, that's what I mean! Keep in mind all the spell casting guidelines we studied in charms class; they are extremely beneficial." The boy said while patting the other boy on the back. The child remained silent for a short while as he considered what the other boy would do in this situation. When it comes to casting spells, he must maintain the pace and refrain from giving in. Although it may be challenging, Argahlon genuinely has this and will succeed in this. Ashley subsequently stepped aside, giving Argahlon the chance to execute the spell to the best of his ability. “fli-PEN-doh!”

This time, Ashley was impressed when the other lad was able to execute the spell flawlessly. He also gave the other young man commanding his skill a handclap. He gave the other boy a broad smile and said, "You are definitely a skilled wizard, I hope to improve my skills in various things too, Argahlon."

Spell casting could not be failed, especially if it is taught at Hogwarts. Ashley gets his courage to eventually cast any magic from Professor Orion's patience with his students during lessons. He never was interested in giving up and continued to work hard because of this. His objectives have not yet been established. He made preparations to join his house's duelling squad, though, in an effort to demonstrate that he is more than just a competent wizard.
