Sorting Ceremony
This was the moment Caitlin had been waiting for since she first learned about magic. She had kept her desired house a secret her fellow first years she had met on the train, fearing that it may not come true. But deep down, she knew she wanted to follow in her mother's footsteps and be sorted into Gryffindor. As the other students were called up, Caitlin watched closely, trying to gauge their reactions.
Finally, it was her turn. As she sat down and felt the Sorting Hat being placed on her head, she was surprised to find her nerves had disappeared. The hat's weight felt heavy on her head, but it was nothing compared to the weight of anticipation she had been carrying.
The Sorting Hat spoke, "You possess a strong desire for adventure and knowledge, and your competitive nature and determination to succeed makes you a perfect candidate for GRYFFINDOR!"
Caitlin beamed with joy as she ran towards the Gryffindor table, relieved and proud to be a part of her desired house. She couldn't wait to write to her family and share the news with them. But for tonight, she was excited to experience her first Hogwarts feast, explore the castle and Gryffindor common room, and meet all of her new classmates.
As she settled into her seat at the table, surrounded by the sounds of chatter and laughter, Caitlin felt a sense of belonging and excitement for the journey ahead. She knew that being sorted into Gryffindor was only the beginning of her Hogwarts adventure.

Jaime strolled calmly into the Great Hall, but excitement was bubbling at her fingertips. Being a from a very non-magical family, she didn’t know much about the wizard world as the other students. Sure, she had the required reading material for the school year, but that doesn’t mean she read it. No, she would most likely just have to find out things as she went along. Speaking of which, this was nowhere near what she expected for the sorting. The others spoke of some sort of test, or a duel. Maybe she didn’t quite believe that, but no one could say they expected this. Nevertheless, she didn’t mind the way the founders had chosen to go about it. It was peculiar, yes, but Jaime liked the oddness of the hat.
Jaime stared up at the candles burning above, like the colours of autumn so bright, as she listened to the hat's song. Soon after, she watched as the first student went up to get sorted. They were obviously very nervous, and it showed when they stumbled their way up to the stool. Promptly, they were sorted into Slytherin and it was another student's turn. After a few more sortings, which mostly went by smoothly, it was Jaime's turn. Whoopee.
Blowing a strand of hair out of her face, she approached the stool. The eyes of the whole room were focused at her, and once Jaime positioned herself on the seat, she coolly stared back. The room, divided into four houses, the four colours of Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. It was easy to see the difference in their demeanours, and Jaime thought she wouldn't mind being in one of the last two. The Hufflepuffs seemed pretty chill, and the Slytherins had a kind of calm to them. She'd heard something about Ravenclaws being really nerdy and all that, so maybe it wasn't the right fit for her. However, she remembered as the hat was placed unto her head, that wasn't up to her.
"Hmm... you are a particularly interesting one, aren't you now?" The hat murmured into Jaime's ears. She found his voice rather calming, like she was listening to an audiobook. "Rather brave, yes, though some would say reckless... But it seems that wouldn't be quite true, would it?"
Jaime shifted in her seat, uncomfortable for the first time that day. The voice did calm her, but its words did the opposite. She hated being psychoanalyzed, even by a talking hat. It continued: "No, you have very fine reasoning, though you hate to explain yourself. An open book, though not a big talker. But still, you are very courageous, and you certainly have the nerve. There is only one place to put you-- GRYFFINDOR!"

I am very much baffled. My journey to hogwarts was very awesome and then a hat started singing, I am so excited that I almost didn't hear my name being called. "Strange,Persephone", I scowled at anyone who laughed at my name. I get that my last name is Strange but they are genuinely laughing at a last name. The fact that my name was announced 'Strange Persephone' makes matters worst. "Yeah laugh at my name why don't ya! You bloody cowards", I said my thick romanian accent making my words a bit unintelligible.
I walked still scowling at people brave enough to laugh, I sat down a bit too eagerly and almost fell off of the stool. "Very peculiar. You are cunning and ambitious but Slytherin is not the house for you. Hufflepuff may have been the house for you, if you weren't loyal to a fault. Possibly Ravenclaw....But your bravery and chivalry weighs out your wit. Yes, BETTER BE...GRYFFINDOR! "
This cannot be happening, I hate the color red with a passion. I don't care that I'm in the Lion's den but red is a revolting color. I sat down in an empty spot between two other first years with a pout, I looked towards the Slytherin table at my siblings who look at me dumbstruck and a little angry.
Hooray, I'm a Gryffindor and I have to wear Red for 7 years. This is going to be a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad year. Pretty sure someone's going to get on my bad side and learn very quickly about my infamous 'Percy Temper'.

As soon as Lys set foot in the Great Hall, a feeling of anxiety rushed over her. She wasn't normally this anxious, but then again, this wasn't like anything she had ever experienced before. Her eyes started to dart around the room, trying to take in this new environment all at once. After a little while, she spotted one of her older sisters sitting at the Slytherin table, who gave her an encouraging thumbs up. This did calm her down a bit, enough for her to enjoy this sorting ceremony at the very least.
Lys intently listened to every single sorting before her. Slytherin... Ravenclaw... Ravenclaw... She wondered where she would end up. While all three of her older sisters and both of her parents went to Hogwarts, she had no idea what to expect; most of them were sorted into different houses. She also wondered when it was finally her turn, the ceremony had been going on for quite a while already and her feet were starting to hurt and-
"Donovan, Lys"
This was it, the moment she had been looking forward to had finally arrived. Lys sat down on the stool and took a deep breath.
"Another Donovan, but what to do with you? Perhaps Ravenclaw, your sister does well there. You're clever, but you will not be a right fit in Ravenclaw. Slytherin won't do either... You are quite determined and strong-willed, protective over your loved ones and you aren't scared to stand up for yourself and those around you. Yes, I know where you belong- GRYFFINDOR!
The smile on Lys's face couldn't be wider. Gryffindor, wow! It felt like everything just fit. She could see her sister cheering her on from the Gryffindor table and so, Lys quickly made her way over.

Alexander enters the sorting ceremony with confusion. His belief is going either in the Ravenclaw or Slytherin. He is taking his time to think and breathe deeply, though his turn comes quickly and sits down while professor puts the sorting hat on top of his head.
- Hah! The blind boy who found his vision! - were the first words the sorting hat said, - I see plenty of courage in you, though an enormous anger towards your closest ones. Plenty of ambition as well and a great gift of knowledge.
- Just say Ravenclaw, - Alexander was saying in his mind. He remembered when Harry Potter asked the sorting hat for not putting him in Slytherin. Sorting hat listens to your demands. Therefore, he attempted to do the same, - Say Ravenclaw already. Please, say Ravenclaw...
- I believe you have a great future with the wisdom and work-ethic that is inside of you, - continued the sorting hat, - though I believe that what you are asking now will only make your life in Hogwarts easy for you. And you don't like easy, do you? You like challenges! - Alexander felt the pressure in his chest, his hands that were always filled with books started to shake and the exclamation part commenced when the sorting hat said the final sentence, - that will be... GRYFFINDOR!
Great Hall got covered by massive applause, so much that one would become deaf afterwards. The only one calm and peaceful was Alexander himself. He could feel the pressure on his face, how he felt he was burning, though he tried to calm himself down and followed the orders by professor and went to the Gryffindor table.
- Congrats! We are so glad you are here! You will love our common room! - Said one of the students out of many who were congratulating of getting selected. Alexander though was with no emotions, being calm, - Do you know that our club is leading? We are on the first place!
- Yes, I know, - said Alexander and smiled at the boy coldly, - And I can care less about it, - smiles on students' faces got frozen and the awkward silence was developed on the Gryffindor table. The only one who said anything was Alexander who whispered only five words to himself:
''I will have my revenge!''

Nicole felt a mix of emotions as she walked into the Great Hall. She was excited to finally begin her magical journey at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but at the same time, she was nervous about what the Sorting Hat would decide for her. As they waited for the Headmaster to begin the ceremony, Nicole looked around the room at the other first-year students. Her heart pounded with anticipation as she waited for her name to be called.
Nicole stepped forward as the Sorting Hat was placed on her head. She closed her eyes tight, hoping to project a clear image of what house she wanted to join. Her face was stoic, masking the mixed feelings swirling inside her. She was hoping to follow in her family's footsteps and become a Slytherin but as the Sorting Hat begins to sift through her thoughts and emotions, Nicole begins to realize that perhaps she is not exactly like her family after all. The Sorting Hat finally screamed out "Gryffindor!" in front of the whole school. She knew that her family will not approve, but for the first time in her life, she felt like she was on a different path.
With a deep breath, she walked over to the Gryffindor table with a straight face, leaving her emotions uncertain. Nicole sat down at the Gryffindor table, taking in her new surroundings. She sat next to a boy with short blond hair and big green eyes. He noticed she looked a bit lost and started a conversation, asking how she felt about being sorted into Gryffindor. Nicole hesitated but eventually shared her confusion with him. The boy, whose name she later found out was James, reassured her that Gryffindor was a great house and that he was excited to have her as part of their team. They found they had a lot in common and spent the rest of the ceremony together, betting on the next house the Sorting Hat would choose.

Madi was utterly confused as she walked in the Great Hall. She had been born to Muggles, and had no idea this school even existed until a month prior. She thought she'd read all about Hogwarts in the books she could get her hands on from Diagon Alley, but those were no help now.
Students were chatting all around her, some looking a bit older than her and some that looked at least five years older than her. She noticed that the people that sat at the same table wore the same color tie or scarf. "House tables", she thought. She knew what those were. She knew all the Houses.
"Now, in a moment, you all will be sorted into your houses." called a professor from the front that Madi could not see. A minute later, a name was called, and a girl ran up to the stool and jammed the hat eagerly on her head. The hat yelled: GRYFFINDOR! and she joined the Gryffindors.
After what felt forever, finally it was Madi's turn. She liked the collection of students, they all applauded new members to their House. She was nervous they wouldn't clap for her, though.
"McQuade, Madi!" The professor said, and Madi walked up to the stool and carefully placed the hat on her head.
Everything went dark, the hat was much too large and fell over her eyes.
"Hmmm. An interesting mind. Creative, intelligent, curious. A natural thirst for knowledge. You'd be an excellent Ravenclaw. But you'd also do well in Slytherin. Ambitious, determined, and resourceful. Great niece of Ammalie McQuade? Yes, I see that. Too bad her sister was a Muggle and the magic died out. She was a Slytherin. I think you'd do best in RAVENCLAW!" The hat decided. Madi didn't mind. But she was surprised her great aunt was magical. All of her great aunts and great uncles had died before she was born or when she was too little to remember them. Why had Madi's grandmother never mentioned that her sister was magic?
But she shook these thoughts off and made her way to the Ravenclaw table. They were cheering her on, applauding extremely loudly. The other Houses were clapping politely, but it was nothing compared to the table Madi was heading toward.
Tons of people welcomed her, congratulated her on making Ravenclaw, and opened up places for her to sit. She was very glad she's been placed in Ravenclaw.

Sorting Ceremony
As the first-year students filed into the Great Hall, she stumbled a bit, taking in the grandeur of the place. Despite being a pure-blood, she knew little about Hogwarts beyond the rumors she'd heard and occasional mentions in The Daily Prophet. As she made her way through the hall with the other students, she couldn't help but wonder how her father had felt when he was sorted into his house. Was he nervous like her, or was he calm and focused on the headmaster's welcoming speech? She'd never know.
Lost in thought, she didn't notice when she accidentally stepped on the foot of another first-year student as they approached the wooden chair and the Sorting Hat. "Ouch! You stepped on me!" the student exclaimed, snapping her back to reality. "Oh my, I'm so sorry!" she said, quickly stepping back and blushing with embarrassment.
She listened to the Sorting Hat's song with interest, but as it went on, her impatience grew, and the nervous feeling in her stomach intensified. When the song finally ended and the headmaster unrolled the scroll of names, she opened her mouth in surprise at the length of the list. She watched as her classmates were sorted, wondering again how her father had felt all those years ago. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, it was her turn.
"Repasky, Kayleigh!" The sound of her name made her freeze, her anxiety growing. She managed to move forward, accidentally stepping on the same student's foot again. "Ouch! Seriously?!" he exclaimed, and she quickly apologized with a mixture of surprise and embarrassment. She then hurried to the chair, her eyes scanning the faces of the professors and the headmaster, wondering what they were thinking. She sat down and tried to act like nothing had happened, even though her face was still flushed.
As the Sorting Hat was placed on her head, it began to speak in a voice that seemed to echo through the Great Hall. "A Repasky, after all these years...how nostalgic," it said, its ancient wisdom seemingly emanating from every stitch of its frayed brim. "You possess a burning curiosity, an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, and an ambitious spirit that drives you to achieve your goals. I sense a powerful drive within you, a desire to conquer all obstacles in your path and make your mark upon the world... Slytherin would be a natural fit for one with such a tenacious spirit." Her gaze went straight to the Slytherin table with curiosity yet a neutral expression. "Yet, there is something else within you - a warmth and kindness that shines like a beacon in the darkness. You have a courageous heart, willing to stand up for what is right no matter the cost." Ironically, she tried to avoid all the piercing glares of the students. "Yes, it is clear to me now... You belong in..." She closed her eyes, like the answer of the sorting hat was scaring her
"GRYFFINDOR!"
As the applause and cheers erupted around her, she saw the Gryffindor table and walked toward it with a smile. It felt like a warm and friendly invitation, and the anxiety that had been building inside her melted away. She sat down and watched as the rest of her classmates were sorted into their houses.

Hannah was sure she'd get into Slytherin, like her parents. Even though she was nervous, she was almost sure she'd get into Slytherin.
She wore her black robes and all other first years did too. Hannah felt many feelings at once. Excitement, nervousness, and many more.
The professor called many names and the Sorting Hat called out many names of the houses, but Hannah only heard Slytherin. She needed to get into Slytherin, not just for her parents, but for herself... wait maybe this was for her parents. No it wasn't, she thought. She really wanted to get into Slytherin.
"Blossom, Hannah" called the professor. It was her time to get sorted. "That's me..." she mumbled as she went to sit down at the chair. Everyone was staring at her.
Suddenly, the Sorting Hat began to talk to her. "Ah yes, Miss Blossom. You are a ambitious soul, indeed, but you are also a brave soul... what house should I put you in?" Slytherin! Slytherin! she thought.
"GRYFFINDOR!" the hat screamed. This could not have gone worse. Gryffindor!?! That was by far the worst thing that ever happened to her.
She seemed fine, but she was the opposite. Hannah looked down at her robes. They were now Gryffindor robes.
The girl headed over to the Gryffindor table. This was her house now, and that was a fact, she needed to accept it.

Alexis was very excited for her sorting. She didnt really mind what house she was in. Her brother David is in Ravenclaw and her parents were proud of him.
Alexis is patiently waiting for her turn to be sorted. She kinda wants to be in either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, but not really Slytherin or Hufflepuff.
Alexis looks at the Ravenclaw table and sees her brother. She waves at him and he waves back at her.
Alexis hears her name and she walks up to the stool. She sits down and the hat is placed on her head. She is now very nervous. The sorting takes a few minutes and the hat yells,
"Gryffindor!"
Alexis gets up and walks over to the Gryffindor table. She isn't feeling nervous anymore. She is now very happy and excited. She's looking forward to her years at Hogwarts in her new home.
Alexis looks back at David and smiles at him. She notices that he smiled back at her. She's glad her brother is happy with her house.
Alexis continues to watch the sorting but doesn't focus properly. She's too busy thinking about what's going to happen at Hogwarts. She's hopping to make a lot of friends in different houses
