↝ Overview
It takes a strong swimmer, if the Slytherin would even permit you access to her depths, to navigate the layers of Caoimhe's complex psyche. Caoimhe possesses a high level of intelligence, and tends to analyze her peers in precise detail by evaluating their vocal inflections and kinesics. She gives off the impression to many people that she is just naïve, confident, and charming; but, in actuality, she is highly perceptive and tactical with how she portrays herself among other individuals in order to obtain what she wants.

However, Caoimhe carries a genuine politeness, passion and enthusiasm for almost everyone she comes into contact with. The fact that Caoimhe yearns to be liked by her friends and wants to have a greater feeling of purpose is what drives her to behave in a manner that is coldly planned. This is not because she has an underlying desire to be dishonest; rather, it is an act of manipulation that is intended to aid her in attaining her goals without offending anybody or making them feel like they were exploited. Caoimhe has a tendency, over the course of time, to shed the façade on purpose and disclose bits and pieces of her genuine character if she believes its safe for her to do so.

Caoimhe would never admit it, but she is extremely self-critical and experiences a great deal of stress because of the delayed development of her magical abilities. She has a tendency to be resentful of individuals who have always possessed magic but have not yet achieved some sort of control, yet she's also prone of becoming bitter towards those who are more skilled than she is. She is conscious of her pessimistic thinking and strives to counter them to the greatest extent possible, considering that she is aware that she cannot change the conditions that other people find themselves in. Caoimhe never allows herself to experience the opulence that she bestows upon everyone around her though. She has an absurdly high standard for herself, constantly tearing herself apart, and is willing to sacrifice her needs in order to achieve her ambitions.

Her nature is a grim reminder that sometimes our biggest opponents is ourselves.

⤍ Pre-Hogwarts - Before Magic

Caoimhe developed high expectations for her abilities since she was borne from two wizards and surrounded by magic. That reality ended in tatters when her initial attempt at magic never came; Caoimhe felt very depressed and envious due to the absence of possessing magic throughout the most of her youth. Caoimhe internalized the feeling of being an outcast warranting to the fact she did not have the capacity to use magic like her parents, brothers, and wizarding relatives. Her family treated her well despite the fact that she was a 'squib,' but they had a tendency to be soft-spoken and avoid certain issues which Caoimhe resented.

Caoimhe's youth makes it challenging to discern and regulate these difficult feelings; some days she may feel numb or sad, other times jealous, lonely, or even enraged. Caoimhe conceals her sensitivity and errs on the side of caution with her emotions while engaging with others by consistently using her "pseudo-confidence." She is exceedingly cautious not to allow these emotions overpower her or misdirect her feelings of displacement, yet they frequently manifest through her façade.

After experiencing her first inadvertent use of magic, Caoimhe is torn between anxiety of being "behind" in talent and excitement and pride at becoming a witch. Caoimhe is excited to join a magical school to perfect her skills, but her greatest concern is that she is unworthy and inept like other children her age. She frequently feels bad for being envious of other people's accomplishments since she often feels insignificant.

Caoimhe loses her uniqueness by imitating the facial expressions, gestures, speech intonation, beliefs, and attitudes of individuals she admires and respects. Caoimhe is mindful that her mimicry is an effort to be accepted by others around her, but she may also be hiding negative sentiments about herself and a lack of confidence.

⤍ 1st Year

In Caoimhe's first year at Hogwarts, she continues to feel inept in her witchcraft and exerts a tremendous, almost crushing amount of pressure on herself to succeed. Although receiving a "O" in all of her subjects, Caoimhe feels overwhelmed by her inability to balance everything.

Although she has difficulty fitting in with some cliques, she uses her mimicry to build connections, presenting a confident "Pureblood-like" façade. A few elite Pureblood families recently started calling Caoimhe slurs regarding her heritage, prompting her to be resentful with her family for embracing certain muggle cultural practices. During the course of several friendships, Caoimhe's true nature becomes apparent. While she has not lied to anybody about her roots, her "coming out" has resulted in the loss of certain friendships and the strengthening of others.

Caoimhe was heartbroken by the loss of prospective friendships, but she was even more so repulsed by the knowledge of why her father had been so distant throughout her childhood. She was both furious with her father and with her muggle-loving family. These feelings and the obligation to succeed drove Caoimhe to emotionally unravel, leaving her with a bit of an attitude and a streak of hostility.

Caoimhe buried these feelings to the best of her ability, but she tended to remove herself from her friends so that they would not be able to witness her inner strife. Her magic would reveal the aggressiveness inside her, prompting a message to be sent home. After a conversation on how to battle through her challenging emotions, Caoimhe chooses to engage in duels as a means of finding release from her depression.
