Never Lose Your Sense of Wonder!
Keith had known something was coming up, but what he had forgotten. He checked his calendar, "Oh right. the meeting. how could I forget?" he thought. He had an explorer club to go to. What fun! Keith got himself ready, wearing blue jean shorts and a red hoodie, the one he let his friend Beatrice wear when they met. He grabbed his notebook, and pencil, and left to head for the club area. He tried to slid down the moving stairs, that wasn't the best idea, he almost fell. Won't try that again, unless he could figure it out, but that was something for another time.
Keith arrived to the meeting, looking around and see lots of people. He looked for a familiar face, one he could talk to. He saw Kim, the leader of the club, and Bailey's best friend. Keith walked over, seeing others take a shirt, badge, and sash thing. He walked over and grabbed one, looking at the badge. It looked super cool, and pretty.
Keith listened around to everyone talking, and pretty soon it was time to leave. Keith said bye to the people he knew, and started to head to his tree. He didn't want to head back in yet.

Interacting With: @Kim Sato"Would the two who haven't introduced themselves yet please do so?" the boy who was leading the meeting requested. Although she was glad that she wasn't the only on late to the meeting and seemingly wouldn't go completely unnoticed, Adlai was a tad bit embarrassed that her untimely arrival wasn't able to fly under the radar.
"Yes! Hello everyone, my name is Adlai Rod. I am a fourth year in house Hufflepuff and when I am not at Hogwarts I am at my families home in Wales, however I am originally from Iceland! Even though I'm not very keen on outdoorsy activities I do like bugs so I hope to be able to find some pretty cool ones and be able share all of my bug central knowledge with you all as we begin our adventures!"
Once the group leader seemed content with everyone's introductions he then went on to explain the mechanics of the club and he encouraged the group that had assembled to grab the gear that was provided. "Oh wow!" Adlai exclaimed as she held the strap in her hands. "This kind of reminds me of the girl scouts. It's exciting!"
However, once the materials were passed around and the window for questions was opened Adlai popped her hand up. "Does the color of the shirt have any significant meaning or do we just take anyone?" She asked.

Kim explained everything, and had everyone get a sash and a badge. Bailey smiled watching him lead. It was nice to see him in charge, he did such a marvelous job doing so.
Bailey cuddled with puffie, waiting for Kim to finish handing things out, and for him to sit down again.
She would eventually take a shirt, strap and badge, after everyone else had gotten one.
Coco showed up, making Bailey grin. She loved coco dearly, he was one of her closest friends and was just a dear.
AF waived goodbye to bailey, and Bailey smiled at her dear friend and waved goodbye in return.
Bailey smiled at everyone as they picked up their badges, and sashes.
Bailey smiled wider when Adlai mentioned the sash and badge being reminiscent of her Girl Scout uniform, knowing the feeling. Bailey had not been a Girl Scout herself, but she had a few friends that had been, and she had read all about them.
Once everyone had left bailey smiled at Kim and said her goodbyes.
She walked up to the castle and returned to her dorm. She put the sash and badge and shirt into a designated spot in her trunk, so that she’d know where it was when she next needed that.

Many had come. There were a lot who hadn't attended but it was fine, sometimes people were busy. Of course, if someone missed more than 3 meetings in a row, he'd probably end up kicking them out of the club. But if it was less than that, he'd be flexible when it came to the current members. Daphne mentioned he'd make a good prefect and Kim's lips twitched into what could have almost been a smile. "Thanks, Daphne. I'm not sure if I'd be the best fit for that particular position but it's nice that you think I would do well as one!" Kim said and glanced over at AF as she asked if he'd designed the badge. "Mm. I thought it would look good like this. I took inspiration from the previous leader's ideas and put my own spin on it too. Glad you like it." Kim told her. As Colin arrived, late to the meeting, the orange haired teen explained things to him. Afterwards, he waited for the boy to choose a shirt and take a strap and badge. As Rita spoke about muggle boy and girl scouts, Kim made a mental note to look that up and see what it was like. More people came up and claimed their items and the second year waited.... For them all to get their shirts, straps and badges. These things were important for them to have. After all, they needed to bring them to every meeting. It wouldn't do for someone to not get them, just because they'd forgotten to come and get them. Or if they hadn't heard him. Kim's job and Bailey's job were to make sure no one was left out. Adlai was one of the few who actually had a question. After she'd claimed her shirt, strap and badge, she asked if the shirt color had any specific meaning, as three different colors were available. "I chose these 3 because they are most closely related to nature/exploring. But the colors don't have special meaning in the club......" As things wrapped up, Kim waited for the other members to leave. Once they had, he started to clean up the area. Bailey was the last one to leave and after glancing around the area, making sure it was as clean as it had been before he'd arrived there, Kim headed off towards the castle. It was time to plan the next meeting and send out owls to see what places were most popular regarding the areas members wanted to explore. He could already think of a few places and wondered what areas would be the top picks. It would be fun for sure. |
