Giant squids over boys
Though Alora had her Slytherin robes on, she had slipped out of her traditional uniform for the rest of the day. Her knee-high school-approved socks were traded for cuter stockings that were decorated with fake socks making her knees look like black kitten heads with their big eyes and pointy ears. A cuteness that contrasted to the platformed doc martens she regularly wore. Every inch mattered when it came to height, and Alora hoped in time, she would get her brother's side of the genes and have a growth spurt.

It wasn't that she wasn't proud of her house, quite the contrary, she enjoyed it enough to keep the robes. Still, she liked her style and freedom of expression, and her uniform was a bit on the larger side to make it last longer, according to her mum. She hadn't wanted to age it prematurely. Not that she'd admit such a thing. With a pocket full of wizarding candy and another filled with leftovers from the great hall, she sauntered over the Great Lake, where she had read about a certain giant cephalopod that lived within its depths.
Perhaps if she fed it on the regular, they could be friends. Who knew, perhaps it would eat her enemies one day. The thought had her smiling as she held her black messenger bag strap to hold its weight off her chest. Carefully lifting it over her space bun hairdo, she set it on a rock before taking a seat. She popped a sticky caramel past her lips and reached for her other pocket to grab a small sausage she'd filched. "Here squiddy squiddy squiddy squid..." she called, throwing it in pretty far. As much as she wanted to make a friend, she wanted it done at a distance. She'd read all about the killer whales from Loro Parque. She didn't need the magical version.
