On Saturday, Ciel didn't have to worry about schoolwork. A master of procrastinating, she found herself putting all of her weekend assignments off until Sunday night- or sometimes Monday morning at the Hufflepuff, while the rest of her classmates were eating breakfast. She couldn't help it! It was too boring to do on the fun weekend.
So, instead of doing homework or studying, Ciel was dancing in the corridors. There wasn't music playing, but she didn't mind. She could make up music in her mind, and that was basically the same thing, right? The sound of trees rustling in the distance, students walking through the halls and chatting, all of that was music to Ciel.
Her feet swayed to the beat of the silent drums. By no means was Ciel an amazing dancer, but to the rhythm in her head, she was doing pretty well. Her feet turned every time they were supposed to, and her arms danced in the way she thought looked pretty. For the most part, her eyes had remained closed. But just because she wasn't looking didn't mean that she wasn't listening.
The sound of footsteps coming closer and closer to her caused Ciel to quirk an eyebrow, who would be disturbing her at this time? Never mind that it was the middle of the day and she was kind of blocking the path. Ciel decides to open her eyes and sees another Hufflepuff girl looking at her.
"Hi...? Do you need something?" Ciel asks, stopping her movement to get a better look at the girl.

Step and Turn
Courtney had a stressful day. With her being less social than others make it quite different to make friends. Everyone at Hogwarts are such social butterflies; it made Courtney feel so out of place. That doesn’t matter though, at least to Courtney. She’s used to feeling like she’s alone. There’s not many things that she can relate to with other kids, and she doesn’t like going outside. What matters to Courtney right now is homework.

'Today will be a good day!'
Courtney wanted to get her work done so she wouldn't have to worry about it later. So what does she do? Go to the study room of course. She takes a good look at the work she needs to get done and writes out the books and materials she needs; Courtney doesn't like using more than what she has too. As that is what her mother told her. As much as her mother, at times, angered her, she gave very good advice… When she wants to.
She went into her room and got packed up. Picking only the best pencils and pens she can find. The study room and her room are quite far apart so it takes a while to get there. That doesn’t bother Courtney though. The hallways are so quiet that it makes Courtney at ease. Like she doesn’t have expectations, homework, or loneliness. Just calm.
As she gets closer to the study room, she hears someone dancing.
Who in the world would be dancing at this time? In the corridors?? She thought to herself.
She walks up closer to see a girl who is a bit muscular with dirty blonde hair. Her eyes are brown, but like, pretty brown. She seems like a carefree person with no worries. She girl speaks, but as usual Courtney wasn’t paying much attention. Before she blurred out.
“Wow.”

'Wow' was definitely a word to describe Ciel. She was filled with 'wow' energy- from the way she not-so gracefully danced in the middle of the corridors. Whether or not someone thought that the wow would be condescending or positive, it didn't bother her at all.
Ciel walked closer to the girl and found herself curious. The girl had dark red hair, but Ciel was sure that it was dyed. The color was too magenta to be natural. It was pretty though, and Ciel had a faint wish that she could also dye her hair such bright colors. Even bringing the idea up to her mama would end up a big deal- especially considering Isabella had banned her from the idea of dyeing her hair. Oh, wouldn't that be so nice? She could match Pottage...
"Is there something wrong?" Ciel asked the girl. In all honesty, the other girl was around the same height as her and was wearing the same yellow and black ties. Was she also a Hufflepuff? Ciel couldn't recall seeing someone with red hair in the common rooms. Well, not that she particularly paid attention.
"Again, if I'm in your way or something I can move- but this corridor is pretty open so you don't need to stand there and gape at me..."

'Today will be a good day!'
Courtney quickly ran past the girl and headed straight towards the study rooms. The girl wore the same yellow, black tie as she did. She must’ve been from Hufflepuff because why else would she wear the house’s colors?
UGH! Courtney can’t keep her head off that girl. Who was she? Why was she so muscular? Did she also enjoy reading as much as she did?
"Focus!”
Courtney gasped and covered her mouth. Courtney wasn’t loud, she, for once, used an inside-like voice. Courtney usually mumbled her words; she was a very quiet kid… even for her age.
Even after trying to focus on her homework, Courtney still couldn’t get that girl off her mind. She decided to set aside work for today, making a mental note to herself to make sure she does it tomorrow as soon as she wakes up, and tries to find that girl.
Hold on, where would a girl like that be? Trying to find someone in Hogwarts was difficult already, it would just be better to find her tomorrow during class. But Courtney is impatient, if she was going to find that girl, she will! Even if it means running around the school like a made man.

Both surprise and confusion filled Ciel as the other young girl sprinted away as soon as Ciel had confronted her. If anything, Ciel almost stumbled down as the girl floored past her- speeds increasing so fast that even the cowboy was confused. There was no way- absolutely no way ever- that Ciel was so intimidating that a girl who was barely shorter than her went zooming. So weird!
Chalking it up to just nerves, Ciel resumed her dancing. But confusion still ran rampant in her mind- why was the girl so.. weird? She paused her turned back to where the study room was and was even more surprised when the girl came back out. What the hell was going on here? Was this girl a scaredy cat or not?
"Um... hi again?" Ciel asked, confusion clearly displayed on her expressive face. She had a few things she wanted to say to the Hufflepuff who seemed unable to stay in one place at a time- but that all could wait, maybe she should try asking her what the matter seemed to be. "Is everything alright there? Do you need to lay down?"
The questions might have come off as offensive, but Ciel really didn't know how else to ask. The girl had a small look of bewilderment and not even someone like Ciel could understand what that kind of look meant.

Fun Fact about Courtney. She doesn’t seem affected by time. I say that because the span of her trying to study and running back to the corridor took 5 minutes. That’s right. FIVE minutes. I am so surprised that she hasn’t lost her mind yet. Now okay, I may seem really harsh right now,but you would be too if you have to deal with, the, Courtney O’Riley. Or maybe I just hate her. Or maybe I hate kids? Whatever! Back to Courtney.

“Uh, Hi, hey, hello.”
Then she started coughing. She coughed a bit. And a little bit more. Then a lot more. Jeez, someone get this girl water.
“Sorry, sorry. I was just overwhelmed is all. I’m a bit of a disaster. Well a big disaster.”
That was definitely smooth. So smooth Courtney, keep up the great work girl! Ugh..
“You’re, uh, very pretty and muscular. I don’t know, you just seemed like a scary person at first. So sorry for judging by the way, I swear I didn’t mean to do it on purpose or anything. Man, I’m not making a good impression, may I.”
Can I answer that? It’s the first question I can answer correctly!
“Sorry, I apologize a lot, I’m so sorry. Are you Hufflepuff as well? Your uniform indicates it, but I wanna make sure. God that was a stupid question sorry.”
Today isn’t going well, but it’s okay. Time to get to know this mystery girl!
