Lisa's nerves tingles with anticipation as she ran through the wall separating the platform from the muggle station, reaching her parents on the other side. Her father, Xavier Langley, had a strange mix of sadness and pride on his face as his sharp eyes scanned the platform.
Next to her father, her mother, Bridget Langley, had a poker face firmly welded on her features as she affectionately stroked Lisa's shoulders. The cacophony of noises merged into a melody that moved like a living thing.
Her mother's voice ebbed it slightly as it pierced the air, calming in it's
"So here it is, Lili. Platform 9 3⁄4. What do you think?" , Bridget asked as she affectionately touched Lisa's shoulder.
"Meh. It could definitely be better. I'm thinking we should redecorate." She was lying. It was enchanting, (Well, not the people because one of them had stubbed their toe and was screaming bloody murder and she was, frankly, too wound up for this stuff) and from the look on Bridget's face, she knew that.
"Y'know I used to go to Hogwarts too!", her father piped up with a broad grin, to cacophony of groans. "We know dad, that's all you've talked about since I got that letter"
Undeterred, he went on.
"I can't help it. Did you know I met your uncle Hedges there? It's like one minute we were strangers and then bam-" He clapped his hands loudly for emphasis.
"Best friends!"
Her mother rolled her eyes, "He's lying, they were so awkward in the beginning that it physically hurt to watch"
Lisa turned. "Didn't you go to Durmstrang?"
"Oh, I did but I spent my first year in Hogwarts. In fact It was where I met your father", she said as she ruffled Xavier's curly hair. "We hated each other so much back then it's kind of hard to believe we even started dating."
Hard to believe, given the fact that they acted like they had a hive mind most of the time, but before she could say anything, the shriek of a horn interrupted the conversation.
Lisa turned around, her hair whipping against her neck as the Hogwarts Express slowed to a halt.
Her heart reached her throat as her pulse reached a fever pitch, thundering violently against her veins. Before she could shut down completely, her father turned her around and wrapped her into one of his bear hugs. Her mother pet her head as he finished. "Don't die and we'll see you this summer." Gee thanks mom, real reassuring.
The goodbyes stretched on until the last warning horn was about to sound, when her father abruptly shooed her towards the train. "Ok, any longer and you're gonna miss the train. Go, go."
Lisa lugged her trunk behind her and got into the train, waving to her parents before heading deeper into the train, searching for an empty cabin.
She was going to Hogwarts. This was either going to be the best thing she had ever had the pleasure of experiencing or she was going to fight tooth and nail to get out of there. Well, guess she would be seeing for herself soon.
