Dear Kim,

i was just about to reply to your letter that i got for valentines day, and then i got this one!

i'll start based off of your valentines letter and then the one i just got.

It is kinda funny how people think we are dating - it can get annoying at times, but i honestly think its quite funny. There really is nothing we can do about it thought ><
They will find out eventually. i do wonder... what will their reactions be? i think some people are well and truly invested in believing that we are dating. which it totally ridiculous - though if i was to date anyone, you do make the most sense.

I have been by your side for ages, and will continue to be so for forever. I will not leave you, even if the world burns down - i will be glued to your side.

You are one of my favorite people to be around, no matter what you say. Probably my favorite, just cause we're so close. and if anyone is a burden, it would be me. remember, i am the one who drags you around everywhere, no matter how you feel. so... i apologize if i am a burden to you, and if you need space, just let me know, and i can back up a little bit.
and you deserve the best - the very best this world has. You are an amazing person, and you are my favorite.

Eventually, they will discover we are not dating, one of these days. We've confirmed we aren't but they just keep thinking we are for some reason. It's kind of strange. I wonder if they will ever think we aren't in our entire lifetime. What if we end up living our entire lives all the way up until our death and on our deathbeds we're like 'we're still best friends' and our fans think we're still dating haha! I don't think they'll ever give up on it, which is kind of cute but also kind of odd too, if you think about it! I mean, why are they so determined to get us together in a romantic sense? Do they get anything out of it????

Wait, do you think they're betting on us getting together vs not getting together? Is that why a lot of people are so adamant about us getting together but others don't care much? You think I make the most sense for you to date? Is it because we're always together? Thinking about you being glued to my side, I have to admit I do kind of like that idea. You're someone I feel close to and it would be... undesirable for you to part ways with me. You are a ray of sunshine in an otherwise dull world. There are only a few people I can think of who can make the world a better place just by being in it. You are one of them.

Even if I'm not in your world, I'm sure you'll go on to achieve great things and be a source of sunlight to others. Regarding your other letter... I'm happy to be someone you think of as special, although do not think I deserve such a title. The Valentine's Ball is taking place tomorrow, are you going to go to it? I don't think I am because of certain events that took place after the Valentine's Day Party Opeila put on earlier. It might be a little awkward for a certain someone... I'm not sure if he'll want to see me there. But I might still go because I don't want to be left out of the loop just because I'm being considerate.

Random question - have you ever heard of the muggle tradition that if you and someone, your best friend probably, are super close, that they promise to marry if they both are not married/ in a serious relationship by like the age 30? Maybe that's why they are so dead set on having us get together.
i don't think they'll get anything out of it..... or... maybe - i've even heard rumors that their is a petition going around, with people signing to get us to snog - can you imagine?

i did sign in relief reading that you are not put off by my eternally hanging around. i... you are like my rock at times. someone to settle my eternal chaos. I..... Kim, you are the sweetest. no one has ever paid me such a dear complement. That is kinda my goal, and its almost habit now. just ... being happy and cheerful.

You're pretty funny! Getting married would shut them up about us not dating? Wouldn't that prove they were right all along? But yeah I agree with you about them writing we were dating on our gravestones. I wouldn't put it past them. Oh? No, I haven't heard of that tradition but I don't really know much about muggle things or customs. Other than their sweets and little tidbits of information here and there. It's an interesting custom. Do muggles actually end up doing it, or is it just a thing they say to joke around?

Heh. Yeah, people tend to let their imaginations get away from them all the time. I wouldn't be surprised if there are rumors saying we've already done a lot of things together that couples do. I suppose you do need me to make your bakery/cafe a reality, but lately I've been feeling tired. I don't really know what to do. Puffie's bopping my hand, I think he's hungry, so I'm gonna go feed him.

i mean, if we were married there would be no way for us to be dating - my logic is solid, you have to admit that. hehe - and they will totally do that. if you want, i can explain more muggle things to you, when you have a free moment. i know how interesting you find muggle things! I think some people actually keep their promise, and the rest get married earlier to their best friend or to someone else. -insert shrug here- i dunno

You'll probably get this during dinner time, as that's when I'm writing this. You responded so quickly, I just wrote the previous letter earlier today and you've already replied! I wouldn't be surprised if I saw you at dinner before I'm finished writing this letter. Yes, well technically to get married, most people would have 'dated' or 'courted' eachother beforehand. So therefore, many would assume their logic to be correct as if we married it would mean we had dated before. If I ever make a promise and give my word, I'll never break it. I don't see how people can give their word and break them. It's unfathomable to me.

To avoid getting roped into things I don't want to do, that's why I never give my word out to anyone, unless I mean to carry through on it later. What about you? Have you ever broken a promise, when you've given your word, for any reason at all? Yes, I'm saying there are rumors floating around that believe we've snogged and done a lot more than that too. I don't know where they come up with these things but probably from their own imaginations. Hm, would I do it if they gave us a signed petition? I'd have to give it some serious thought. I only had my first kiss around a year ago and I still remember it.

I kissed someone after that a few times too and there was also that time during the Beaufort Celebration where I gave you a cheek kiss under the mistletoe, if you remember. But other than those instances, I'm not really one to want to kiss others. Doing so for a petition isn't really my thing and I probably wouldn't agree to doing it, unless there was a good reason behind it. A reason other than the people who signed the petition wanting us to snog just because they want us to. You know what I mean? This letter is getting way too long, letters are supposed to be short, aren't they? Sorry I rambled a bit and sure I'll say hi to Puffie for you. He's actually staring down at this parchment right now, almost as if he knows.....

Dear Kim,

I had just gotten back to my dorm, and started my last bit of homework when your letter got to me. we have been on a roll, getting letters back and forth!
that is true...... very true. so by getting married we'd just confirm the rumors - lol that would be a crazy day. for april fools, we should totally convince them that we are engaged, or dating. just to make them go crazy - wear something little, like matching rings, on our ring fingers, or something like that. It would make them go nuts, which would be HILARIOUS!
i do see you as that person, the one to not break promised. I am the same, it would crush my heart if i had to break a promise. and with that said - i PROMISE, kim, i promise i will always stay by your side.
I don't and have not ever broken a promise, and don't intend to start so now.

I never kissed james, and so... i really haven't had my first kiss. spin the bottle, i never fully kissed anyone, and def not besides that. I guess i just haven't found the right person to share that first kiss with.

First off, Puffie says hi and is staring at the parchment and hopping on it as if he's trying to make his mark on it. I think he wants to put his own flair into the letter. He does seem to know I'm writing to you, maybe he senses it because he doesn't do it when I write just any letter. It's only when I write letters to you that he acts like this! If you see tiny little pawprints on the parchment it's Puffie's tiny little feet. I let him stand in a tiny bit of ink and he's now hopping up and down on the parchment for you. It's quite cute and adorable. Hah, you don't want to know what I've heard them say! I'll let your imagination fill in the blanks. Also, I didn't know you never kissed James. Or anyone at the Spin the Bottle. I thought you had! Since you've never had one, how do you feel about that? Do you want one? Or do you not mind waiting until you meet the right one? I have to stop now as it's getting late. I don't want to go to the owlery too late to send this.

Sorry I didn’t reply again last night, I feel asleep waiting for your owl On my desk before I got the chance to reply.

I do feel like most people assume James and I kissed, because it was kinda fast and seemed like that would happen, but it didn’t. It ended before we had the chance, which now that he’s gone I’m glad he’s not the person I shared that with.
I’d rather save my first kiss for someone important, you know?
That’s part of the reason I didn’t kiss anyone on the lips at the spin the bottle. If I did it then then it really wouldn’t mean anything!
I do want one, but I don’t mind waiting. I’d rather wait and have it mean something, than not wait and regret it later.
I’ll stop my rambling now, sorry if this doesn’t make much sense. I only just woke up and my brain isn’t fully awake
