Alexx:

Rorie listened to the challenging piece that she was playing on the tuba keenly. It was Czardas, a song which even her father, who was amazing at playing the tuba, had struggled with. Alexx had performed it extremely well, no mistakes evident, which was very impressive. Adjusting in her seat, Rorie watched as the performer set up for playing her bass clarinet.

The bass clarinet had always been fascinating to Rorie. It was a hard instrument for her to play, she had given up on it immediately after starting. Rorie had never had much luck with woodwinds, anyways. The sound a bass clarinet made, though, was what intrigued her. It was a unique noise, and if executed properly, was perfect for band songs. Rorie was excited to have one of these on the team.

Towards the middle, a small tweak in a note sounded, slightly stickier than it should have been. But, Alexx played through it like it never happened and you could hardly notice it anyways.

Rorie commented on that.

"The tuba was amazing, and so was the bass clarinet! Even the little mess up with the screw was hardly noticable and the fact that you just played through it is exactly what I look for in a good musician. Never breaking your musical character, it was awesome! Great job!"

Tina has been singing since she was little. When she found out their was a band at Hogwarts, she had to try to get in. Prior to the auditions, she practice for long hours while remembering to rest her voice afterwards. Whether she got in or not, she had to find out whether she was a good singer and how to improve.

She walked briskly onto the stage with her guitar at hand. While she didn't need music for acapella, she needed it to showcase her singing voice. "Hello, I'm Tina Addington. I'm going to sing The Scientist by Coldplay with my own twist to it."

"Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry, you don't know how lovely you are, I had to find you, tell you I need you, tell you I set you apart," Tina began to sing in a soft and low voice while plucking the one note she knew how to play on a guitar.

"Tell me secrets and ask me your questions, oh let's go back to the start," she sings while increasing the intensity of her voice and the speed of her guitar plucking.

"Nobody said it was easy, it's such a shame for us to part, nobody said it was easy, no one ever said it would be this hard," she sings with a high pitched voice, no longer playing the guitar. She feels the strong emotion of loss as she finishes, "Oh take me back to the start."

She wipes a tear from her eye as she waits for the judge to comment on her audition.

Aravis entered the room in a light pink and blue floral ball gown. It dragged the stage as she walked forward. She almost regretted wearing it, after all she would have to stand playing the cello and piano.  "Hello. I am Aravis Isolde Escanora. I sing and play piano, guitar, cello, violin, trumpet, and snare drums. I'm not going to play the guitar, trumpet or snare today though do to time. For my first thing today I'll sing part of the song 'Magic Seeds' by Iwan Rheon, and then switch to a song I wrote myself with my guitar." She smiled before making her way to the piano, moving the stool out of her way. "My apologises, I can't exactly sit in this dress." She said with a chuckle before playing.

Looking back at those easy days

At wistful dancing to the grave
It matters not
I am now in my heaven

Even so we're the same in waves
And wisdom always wakes too late
It matters not
I am now in my heaven

I've looked at how angels felt inside
I've found all my targets aiming wide
And looked in your mirror and found myself
We know, baby, who we are
Yeah we know, baby, who we are

She ends holding the last note longer than the original song. She didn't miss a single note in her singing. It wasn't an extremely hard piece aside from the fact she learnt the piano part by hear. The piano complimented her voice. Aravis made her way to the center of the stage picking up her black violin playing a few notes to make sure it was tuned. Lucky for her it was for once. She propped up her violin on her shoulder before beginning her own song.

I've never understood
Why we all hide lies
I'd never understand
Why you tried

Cause the truth always comes around
Not everyone can hide it
Cause when the truth comes around
You can't deny it

It comes in like a virus
Infecting their minds
Works like a lie
Dressed in all white

She finishes holding out the note as she plays her violin along with her singing only messing up twice. "Sorry for the mess ups, I'm still working on it." She says with a nervous smile as she pulls out her cello. She plays the cello version Enter Sandman. Finally finished she bows smiling.

Fun fact: The song Aravis sang the second time was actually my own original work.

I will take what is mine with fire and blood.

Henry'd wander on the stage afterwards. He was dressed with a black tank top and a blue/white check shirt over the top unbuttoned. He had ripped jeans on with some dark red converse. He thought he looked okay, though his siblings always took the micky out of him for his style. Am acoustic guitar was strapped onto his back and he slid it round to his front as he got to the mic.

"Uh, hi, I'm Henry. I'm just going to sing and play today..if that's alright.." He'd cough nervously afterwards, his cheeks flushing momentarily. Fiddling with the guitar, he'd tune it slightly before starting to finger pick the opening to "Cough Syrup" by Young The Giant.

Henry looked clearly nervous as he started to sing, the song was picked because it had a mix of some higher notes and low notes as well as was relatively easy to play and sing at the same time. At the start, Henry's voice was shaky and his eyes darted around self-consciously but by the time he got to the chorus, he was doing fine.

"If I could find a way to see this straight,
I'd run away to some fortune that I, I should have found by now

And so I run to the things they said could restore me, restore life
the way it should be,
I'm waiting for this cough syrup to come down..
One more spoon of cough syrup now whoa.."

Henry'd clear his throat once he stopped, he was quite unsure of whether he could do another song and decided 'what the hell' so switched into 'I Have Nothing' by Whitney Houston. This was supposed to show how high he could go and he settled for half the song since it was the acoustic version and he didn't want to bore the poor people.

"I don't really need to look very much further,
I don't want to have to go where you don't follow,
I would hold it back again, this passion inside,
I can't run from myself, there's nowhere to hide,

well don't make me close one more door,
I don't wanna hurt anymore,
stay in my arms if you dare,
or must I imagine you there?
Don't walk away from me,
I have nothing, nothing,
nothing, if I don't have you..."

Trailing off, he'd turn the guitar back onto his back and sort of wait awkwardly, thumbs twiddling together.

John fidgeted with his hands impatient. The performances before his did a splendid job with there auditions. John unpacked his cello and tuned it quietly. He did not want an untuned cello to play. After what seemed like a couple hours it was finally his turn. John usually had stage fright but he would not let that conquer him.

John quickly took his cello and the chair he was sitting in on. John was wearing a black collared shirt with black pants under. John took a deep breath and walked on stage. He put his chair down and placed his cello between his legs.

“Hello everyone, I am John Williams and I will be playing Thunderstruck for all of you today”

John took a deep breath and took out his bow. He closed his eyes and started to play his song. Once he played his first note it felt as time had stopped. As he continued to play the song, he embraced the song. Before long, his song was over. He stood up and bowed to the audience and waited to see if he had made it in to the club. He fidgeted with his hands looking directly and the judge.

Hello, I am exited for a great year at Hogwarts. I can’t wait to learn new stuff and come in top for all my classes.
