┏ ┓-----Mudblood, the creature had called him.
Of course it wasn’t true in the slightest, but something about that word being used on him was a most severe crime that caused the boiling pot that was his growing temper to spill over the rim. It was aided by the death threat, surely, but what stung the most is the questioning of his blood status; the fact that this sickly vermin-esque boy had first slapped him, and then proceeded thus was insult enough, but what really carried it home was the fact that this imbecile clearly didn’t know who or what Avery was.
At that moment he didn’t much care for what little information the part-goblin was giving him, he had to set this grievance right. With careful, yet hurried steps, he advanced on the boy and reached to take a hold of him by a clump of his uniform on his chest. Avery took a moment to let his ebony eyes scan the boy, to ensure that he could remember the boy but also to relish in any reaction. After a moment of silence, he spoke again, as his dark expression lifted.
“I’d ask for your name, but I’m not sure I’d remember it. – I don’t make habits of recognising every bit of pondscum filth I come across, least so those that have skinny fingers and pointed ears. I reckon your family history is a swamp, so before you hurl insults at me, I’d reconsider throwing stones in glass houses.” Said the snake, who had posed this with some amount of venom, but by no means an unrelenting attack on the boy; perhaps there was more to come.
With a quick and almost threatening gesture, he released the boy from his grasp.
Avery then flicked a piece of lint from his uniform, after a quick inspection; particularly indifferent to the boy now. He had come to the decision that Clark wasn’t going to be of any more use, and that his energy was better spent trying to navigate this treacherous web of clues that have already come together; like an intricate puzzle that changed with every piece you set right. “It’s remarkable, you said you would just tell me and then proceeded to tell me nothing I already knew. – I can already tell you’re nothing but a cretinous parasite. He practically spat that, as he readied himself to leave. Avery wasn’t quite aware of the risk he was in, of getting caught and potentially reprimanded; that would certainly add to the mix, perhaps the boy would come to be the first person Avery would truly detest were that so.
“We’re done. My business doesn’t concern you any longer.” Avery said then, beginning to make for the exit with a careful stride; he wouldn’t put it past Clark to act rash and assault him again, and so he shifted his hand to his side in proximity to his wand pocket. He would defend himself if necessary, and the note that was safely in the confines of his inner robe pocket.┗ ┛
Action: Preparing to the exit the Astronomy Tower, he will leave this thread if Clark's response is not hostile/aimed at interrupting his exit.

The Passing Of The Note
"That's right. You heard me. You're a MUDBLOOD. I don't care what the hell you think is so vital to just be classified a mudblood. I heard that it demonstrates impurity in blood. Perhaps because you're impure. You're a disgrace to the pureblood name." Clark spat angrily, like venom.
"I'm a badger, I kill snakes. However, as I'm trying to fly under the radar- you just won't die today. At least, not under my control. Besides, you think you're so tough, catch these!" That said, Clark swung his hands, grasped in a fist formation, towards where it hurts for most every male out there. He really hoped it would cause Avery to leave him the hell alone.
However, he towards the exit, trying to avoid Avery- or any possible attacks against him, when he turned around once again, "By the way, I'm Clark. Nice to meet you, now bye bye now." His brows furrowed in anger, and he ran out the door. He was done, and didn't want to deal with the boy of violence anymore.
Ever since he met Avery, he could see why he wasn't the favored student- however he found it shocking that people actually liked Avery.
Why would that guy- from Hogsmeade Express- want to interact with Avery- how the fuck did he know about Avery? Clark literally had heard occasional words about him- and now that he got to know Avery- he wished Avery would just get the hell out of Hogwarts- he would be a better fit at Durmstrang in his opinion.
Permission given to punch Avery in DM.
Note: Clark has left the thread. If there should be another thread, feel free to holler after Clark and they can meet elsewhere at some point for a duel/fight/normal thread.

┏ ┓-----B efore Avery could make it to the exit, with his back to Clark, he heard the boy speak of impurity, of more threats and then he heard the pitter pattering of footsteps launching across the planks and making for him.
As his hairs stood on end, his stomach twisted and spurred him into action; if he was going to be ambushed he wouldn’t allow it to come to his back.
Of course, he had been paying attention; his name was Clark, and he was a hufflepuff. At least he had shortened the investigation Avery was bound to conduct, he thought. Though in their limited interaction, Avery had very quickly figured is one out; as he liked to do. Clark was unlike others Avery had interacted with; there seemed no mystery or allure that fixed Avery’s attention; nothing intrinsic to work out. Yes, Clark could possibly answer a few questions about the original note-writer, but he was sure that this was nothing he couldn’t figure out himself. The pale boy had surmised him, pegged him for what he really was: Clark was rash, crass and almost struck him as a little bit deranged and then the word came to him; he was a coward.
The Leveret boy didn’t particularly like cowards. Who did? Though, he supposed that there always seemed a place for them, often observing a collection of them that gathered in the pools near the bottom of the social barrel; the dark corners and edges of wide rooms, the very end of the great hall tables, and now; here in the Astronomy tower, high above the rest of the school and far from others. It made sense now, why Clark’s note had demanded they met in the tower. He was a coward.
Had he not turned, perhaps the little goblinesque boy would have elected to just run past, or squared up to him like his brothers often did to one another. He was quick with his hand, to grasp and unsheathe his wand from its pocket, drawing it with the intent of sending the approaching footsteps back ten paces or so with a well placed Knockback Jinx; but he was far too late. Clark had launched across the room with an impressive amount of speed, before he took to socking Avery right where it would hurt most.
He had thought that Clark couldn’t get any lower in his estimations, and yet finally the creature had finally surprised him with boldness.
A sickness grew on him, contorting his face and buckling him forward as he clutched his groyne and held his stomach with his wand hand. There was no sickness like it, no pain he had felt had ever resembled this; and he had two elder brothers. Perhaps it was a mixture of things. The fact that Clark, the filthy half-breed, was the one to do it. Or the fact that Avery could have prevented such if he had trusted his gut and launched the boy off the tower the second he had suspected something was up.
Then Clark had spoken his name, as Avery was folded forward. There, Clark had performed two grave mistakes. First, he had done what he had, and second, he had told Avery his name.
Some people were memorable because they posed a threat. Some, were memorable because they had quirks; but this ‘person’ was memorable because in that instant he had dropped so low in Avery’s opinion that he would consider objects; like a toothbrush or some nail clippers; above him in priority to rescue should the school burn down and Avery had the chance to save only one.
“Mucus ad Nauseum!” He had called out in anger, attempting to cast at the fleeing shade of Clark that stood in the doorway, in an attempt to stick him with a nasty cold that he hoped would cause him an amount of bother that was somewhere near what he was currently in. The spell had of course missed, and struck the wall just where Clark had been standing, for Avery was too aggrieved to aim properly, and Clark was too quick in his descent of the stairs.
Him missing, only infuriated him more. At that moment he would have seen the boy hang upside down from a tower railing, without his uniform, for the world to see. But he could only groan and hiss through clenched, pearly white teeth.
“When I find you next, you filthy little beast, you better hope you’re in the company of friends, for your sake!” Came out of his calcium grill, as a dark expression took hold of his features then. Beast, he had called him. He had dehumanised the boy in what would be the first instance of such, during his time at Hogwarts.
Little did Avery know that Clark’s assault would only add to the growing imbalance that was his care for those he deemed, lesser.┗ ┛
Action: Gonads got, got. Cast the Curse of Bogies at Clark and missed, is now hurled over in pain.
