Slytherin vs Hufflepuff: Match 3
"The weather could be better," Truthfully, this earned a small laugh from the slytherin. Did she really think he was genuinely asking? If they had more time, perhaps he would’ve been able to piss her off more. It was always fun when nice people start realising they're just dumb, overall. Maybe he’ll be lucky enough to see her again in the next stage?
“ What do you mean you can’t relate? “ Hanako raised an eyebrow at this. Did they really not notice? “ Oh, no worries. “ Hanako said playfully, lifted his wand just where he knew the boy would be standing “ You’ll see what I mean ~”
And he stuck to what he said. While Pritchard spell zoomed past him, likely due to his obscured vision, Hanako’s spell landed directly on his target. Did he feel bad he basically caused him to crash backwards from the stage? No. Did he still think he was cute? Yes. Especially now that his removal from the stage meant a higher chance of Slytherin winning. Pea would be flattered she wasn’t the only one embarrassingly annihilated. Better not tell her, then.
Course, that would be the end of his cocky grin. The spell that hit him again from Nessie’s area shaken his confidence. How? The fog should’ve made it troublesome for her to even see whats in front of her. He bit back a groan at the impact her spell had on him, glaring at her through the thick fog. How? He had the chilling feeling that no matter where he stepped, she would know where he was. A seer? He’ll remember that.
"With that this duel has come to a close, Slytherin wins!"
His cocky grin mixed with an utter sense of relief made way to his features as he released an exhausted sigh. Damnit, taking care of two people alone was tough. He wouldn't have made it if it weren't for the fog. He will have his aunt to thank for his newfound abilities. Now, let’s go brag about this to that useless excuse of a partner, shall we? He thought with a devious smirk at the thought of visiting the white haired psycho.
Coming down from the stage, Vanes had made a surprise appearance. A sight Hanako first backed away from. Upon knowing he had no cat around him, he stood his ground with a suspicious glare at his congratulations. He didn’t take Vanes’s handshake.
"Perhaps you too should check in with the nurse," his gently voiced advice only received an annoyed tsk in return. Hanako looked away with a glare and crossed arms. “ Perhaps, you should go back to that devil spawn of yours and mind your own business “ he snapped before walking away without looking back. He didn't mean to be harsh, but he couldn’t help himself. Not with how Vane’s suggestion somehow made the tension in his shoulders slightly loosened. It was just like how they met years ago. That absurd calming feeling whenever he was around the older boy. Just as annoying even after time has passed between them. Another win he could gain from this was that at least he didn’t feel like running away from Vanes anymore. Let’s still hope our paths don’t cross more than needed anyways.
