Parselmouth is in bold.
Kiana nodded, feeling a tad bit….jealous? She could only imagine the paralyzing fear she would feel if she were ever to ask someone out. “That’s amazing! I’m surprised you were able to work up the nerve to ask her out, I would never be able to do that,” she admitted, a bit embarrassed. Her social anxiety simply wouldn’t allow her to do anything of the sort, and she hated interaction anyways. So far, the people she had met like Nico and Alana were kind and welcoming, but that didn’t necessarily mean other people would show the same patience.
“Oh, I don’t have any parselmouth friends…except you, of course. I’m glad I’ve gotten to know you though, it feels ten times better knowing I’m not ‘different’ or ‘out of place.’ And honestly, parselmouthes aren’t all that bad either. It really depends on what their power is used for - it’s the intention that counts, not the ability.” Kiana felt like going on all day about the matter - prejudices and stereotypes - but she got the feeling that Nico probably didn’t want to be lectured now. Instead she sat quietly for a moment, wondering what to do next and recounting her day from beginning up to now.
It has been a great experience overall, and Kiana started to have doubts whether friendship was as useless as it seemed before. Maybe there were countless individuals just like Kiana, and maybe there were many more who shared her struggles.

Nico smiled at Kiana's remark, "Well, I don't mean to brag, but my crippling anxiety definitely helped."
It was not exactly true, Nico's anxiety did not play a part in him asking Duvessa out, but it did restrict him from socializing naturally. He would always be self-conscious when talking to people, always thinking about what they were thinking about him. Perhaps it was because he grew up with the other kids always whispering about him behind his back. But it was different with Kiana, he felt more relaxed around her.
"I can really relate to that. I've always felt like I never belonged, and I thought if people knew about my ability that they would never accept me. Y'know? Like, even as a young child no one wanted to be around me," he said, rather depressingly.
Even when he went to muggle schools no one liked him, everyone thought there was something wrong with him, the way he dressed and hid away from everyone else.
But just then an idea popped into Nico's head, "Kiana! Have you gone in the Chamber?"
