April 1st 2023
Clair's day was going pretty well, it was the first of April and she had far not been pranked too badly by anyone. She was of course still on the look out, but as usual she had decided to spend her Saturday morning in the Library.

As Clair walked through the shelves she did not know what she was looking for, just something to read or learn about. The Hogwarts Library was big enough that she was sure to still not have read every book she wanted to by the time she graduated Hogwarts, All the books she wanted to read meant every single book in the library.

She was in the middle of debating if she should read a book on the history of Rowena Ravenclaw or a book on werewolves when she decided to sit down. Taking both books with her Clair found a empty spot and sat down, She watched as Kiwi chased her tail for a minute, she wondered mildly if she should have brought the cat or not, either way the cat was here now and Clair was not planning of leaving the library before she had decided on at least four books to read over the weekend.

April 1st one of the better days for pranks and mischief. Though for some it was a day to enjoy and possibly hide about. Alana was hiding about in the library the young Gryffindor girl enjoyed the vast library. From the towering bookshelves the winding staircases that rested in the back of the very vast room. The smell of fresh and new ink wafted through the peacefully area. Though the outdoors looked welcoming around this time, that was were all of the mischief seemed to be taking place.

Alana weaved in out of the bookshelves her sea-foam teal eyes scanning the spines of the books. She was just curious on everything that seemed to be surrounding her though she spent quite a good amount of time in the library. Alana tend to find this particular space her safe haven. Though one would think she may not need a safe haven with how happy the fiery red haired girl is. Alana's sea-foam eyes scanned a book about Magical creatures and the history about them humming in a sweet tone the young girl grabbed it off of the shelf.

Alana glanced around the area looking for a place to relax and start reading as her black school robes flowed behind her gently. Her Gryffindor tie was tied slightly loosed as her red hair was resting against her shoulders and mid back in a cascading wave of rings. The sea-foam eyed girl noticed out of the corner of her eye a cat chasing it's tail. Being the type of girl who adored everything that could practically breathed. Alana grew a giant grin moving closer towards the cat. Noting that the cat seemed to be near an older student.

Alana took a moment to take in the older girls appearnce. Alana tilted her head slightly to the left hand side noting the older girl had books near her. Being the ever curious child Alana was she moved slightly closer.

"Is that your cat? Their very pretty?"

Alana paused for a moment her sweet honey like tone drifted slightly, before her eyes gazed at the books that the older girl was reading. Making the red haired girl's attention peak quite quickly.

"What are you reading? Oh I'm sorry that's very rude me. My names Alana! Alana Dibble!"

Alana giggled slightly a smile adorning her freckled splattered face as she held the book she had gotten from the bookshelf closely to her chest. The red haired girl stared curiously at the older girl her sea-foam eyes sparkling with joy and curiosity. Alana continued to stare at the older girl curiously her gaze was soft and caring. Though she was extremely curious why one would be inside on a nice day though after all it being a day for pranks and mischief Alana could understand why one would rather be around books. Books are usually not pranking material.

As Kiwi continued to be her crazy self and chase her tail Clair giggled to herself as she watched her cat turn in circles as fast as she could.
She had spent a good hour brushing Kiwi's long fur this morning and making sure that the knots were all out of her fur, oh well all that time was now a waste. She would have to brush it all again later.

It was just then that a young girl with red hair and pretty eyes came up. Clair smiled brightly,
"Thank you, her name is Kiwi." Clair said happily as she looked at Kiwi, who was now sitting with her fur all fuzzed up and out of breath. "You can pet her if you'd like, she is very sweet."
The cat was a little crazy in the brain, but she was still sweet and had only ever bit and swatted Clair in play.

"Nice to meet you Alana, I'm Clair Fernandez, Second year Ravenclaw." She offered her hand, but would not be offended if Alana did not take it, she understood about germs, and stuff like that.
Clair looked back at her books, "well, I'm currently trying to figure out which book to read first but I'm leaning towards the book on Werewolves because I'm pretttty sure that I saw the one on Rowena Ravenclaw in the Common Room library, what about you?" She asked, unsure if the young girl had picked a book or not.

The fiery red haired girl smiled as she shook the older girls hand happily. Alana glanced at Clair curiously. The young girl remembered a certain older boy shout about a Clair as they emerged from the vast Great Lake water prior to this meeting. The fiery red haired girl seemed intrigued staring up at Clair her Sea-foam teal eyes sparkling with curiosity and joy.

"Clair? Do you know Colin by chance?"

The fiery red haired girl asked her question curiously though once she realized that Clair had asked her a question in turn Alana blushed in embarrassment smiling sheepishly at Clair. Her sea-foam teal eyes sparkled happily as she stared at the older Ravenclaw girl curiously.

"I have came to just get away from all of the excitement that is brewing around you know?"

Alana smiled brightly at Clair her fiery red hair bopped at bit as the young girl got excited. Alana's sea-foam teal eyes rested on to Kiwi the younger girl gently reached out her hand to allow the cat to smell her hand before gently petting the fluffy feline. Alana beamed happily as the feel of the cats soft fur under her hand. Glancing at Clair Alana smiled brightly watching the older girl curiously. Alana was smiling brightly at the older girl. Her freckled splattered face seemed vibrant.

Clair's smile grew even more, "McCoire? I would happen to know him, Have you happened to meet him?'' her mind knew exactly how she must have met him if she made the connection between the two second years so fast. He must have been doing some sort of yelling about her, it seemed like it was a more common occurrence than she had first thought. It still amused Clair that she had mistook Colin's affectionate howls as attempts to tease or annoy her (and even if he had been he had failed to annoy her) It was now more obvious how he felt about her, it touched her heart.

"I get you, It can be very crazy. Hogwarts is certainly not a place that is super quiet or private." She smiled slightly, "The owlery, dorms and library are the quietest places inside I find, though on the nice days I'd rather be outside than indoors, y'know?"

Clair loved the outdoors, any chance she got she would choose to be outside rather than indoors. There was something very calming about the way the sun felt on her face, or the sound of the birds chirping in the bushes. "I guess you could say the Toilets are also pretty private and quiet, not very comfortable, if I do say." She had lots of experience of crying in the Toilet, but if they were anything Comfortable was the last thing.

Alana smiled brightly as she nod her head quickly at Clair her fiery red hair bobbing up and down in it's little fiery waves as the young girls sea-foam blue eyes girl stared at the older girl in front of her happily. Alana trained her focus towards Clair as a smile broaden on her soft val shaped face.

"Yes, he was quite nice actually! Though he was a bit funny to."

Alana giggled cheerfully at the thought of how she first met the older boy emerging from the Great Lake in all of his um glory. Alana stared happily at Clair her sea-foam blue eyes sparkled happily in pure joy and happiness. Alana moved closer to the older girl as she continued to speak to the younger girl. When Clair spoke about the Library and Owlery the young girl could not help but agree though she has yet to explore the owlery and decided to put it on her bucket list to do that. Though as the young girl listened to Clair and she mentioned the bathrooms the young girl could not help but hear what may have sounded a bit like sadness.

"I suppose the bathrooms are not bad, but it is better surrounded by friends then all alone you know?"

The young girl spoke gently with a sweet tone though for a second her little Ravenclaw trait definitely appeared for a second more then anything. The young girl stared happily at Clair as a smile continued to broaden on her soft oval shaped face. Her soft sea-foam teal eyes shone brightly with pure joy.

The Ravenclaw racer laughed, "He is definitely ... something, a very interesting specimen I think" yes because the boy who had a crush on her and the boy she may or may not really really like was totally a specimen in the experiment called life. She though of Colin as a element on the periodic table of elements, which would he be? she dropped the thought and returned to earth.

The young girl, Alana, seemed like a nice girl and Kiwi seemed to like her as well, as the cat rubbed against Alana. Clair nodded, "Having friends is always better, being alone really sucks" Clair replied with feeling. While she had never really been alone alone, Clair had lost both parents and sometimes that made her feel like she was alone in the world. "a Question for you to think about" Clair trusted the girl enough not to laugh at her, "and you don't need to tell me, Its just something to think about, would you rather have 300 friends who you only really kinda know or three friends who will always have your back?" she smiled a little as she asked the question calmly, it was a question her father had asked her, it was one of the last questions he had asked her and she liked to ask other people the same question, it really showed something about them. "I think Kiwi likes you." Clair smiled, as the cat kept headbutting and rolling on the ground, something she only did for people she liked.

"so what do you think of hogwarts so far?"

Alana stared softly up at Clair. The older girl seemed genuinely nice Alana felt a sense of peace being around the older girl. As Alana kept gently petting Kiwis soft fur coat. The young girl looked up towards Clair when she spoke. Alana smiled softly tilting her head to the left side slightly her oval shaped face sparkled like one who saw an amazing site for the first time. Her fiery red hair cushioned her left side similar to a comfy pillow.

"I believe everyone is an interesting specimen after all. That is what makes us who we really are!"

Alana spoke softly a soft grin gracing her soft sun-kissed tone features gently. Her sea-foam blue eyes sparkled as if they were the ocean being hit by the suns blinding rays of light. The fiery red haired girl lifted her head up straight staring at Clair curiously. Though it was silent for a few moments. Kiwi was just rubbing against Alana as the young first year gently petted the cat softly. Alana's soft sea-foam blue eyes stared ever so curiously at Alana her eyes sparkled like a star in the night's sky with curiosity. Alana listened carefully when Clair spoke up though Clair seemed to agree that having friends is better then being alone. Her question seemed to make Alana think for second. Would the young girl rather have three hundred friends that she barely knew or three that had her back. Alana hummed in thought. The question seemed to make the fiery red haired girl think before she gazed upwards towards Clair. Alana's soft sea-foam blue eyes seemed to shine softly like a freshly lit candle. The blue in her eyes seemed to resemble that of a freshly clear lake after a rainstorm. Alana opened her mouth then closed it before making up her mind smiling softly.

"Having three friends are better then none, especially sense they will be with you until the very end. It is always a blessing to know that you have at least one person in your corner no matter what."

Alana spoke softly her tone was soft as a flower dancing in the gentle breeze. The young girl stared at Clair smiling brightly. Of course the girl would enjoy having as many friends as possible, but she would always be sufficed with three friends that would do anything for her in the heat of the moment. The fiery red haired girl continued to gaze over at Clair. Clair again spoke catching Alana's attention making the young first year gaze down at Kiwi who was rolling around. Clair did mention that the cat seemed to like her making the young girl smile greatly. Turning her attention back to the older girl Alana hummed softly. When Clair spoke again she asked the jackpot question at least Alana thought of it as a jackpot question.

The young girl hummed thinking of how to respond to the question what did she think about Hogwarts so far. The fiery red haired girl smiled happily at Clair her smile radiated as if it was sun's rays beaming off of the girls sun-kissed tone skin.

"It is truly amazing! The castle is vast and large! The Great lake it self is truly amazing as well and don't even get me started on the library!"

Alana spoke excitedly her voice was similar to a child who may have just eaten a tub of candy. The young fiery red haired girl continued to grin happily her grin seemed to roll off rays of happiness from the girl. Her sea-foam blue eyes resembled that of a sparkling night sky with how brightly they seemed to shine with pure joy and happiness. The young girl continued to stare gently at Clair though she held nothing but pure excitement and joy to her.

Clair was really starting to like this girl, she was very smart and interesting.
"I agree completely, Its kind of like quality over quantity. I mean, hundreds of friends would be nice, but in the end I don't think I could ever keep track or give them all attention, But if I have three super close friends that will always have my back I don't have to worry about giving them all attention, because well first, there are only three of them, second, they should not be too y'know jealous of each other and third, if they always have my back then I can trust them and they can trust me." She smiled, "everyone should have at least two close friends, three is a good amount though."
Clair had two very close friends, Colin and Simon. She felt like they would always be there for her, and she knew she would always be there for them, no matter what.

"the castle is huge! I used to get sooo lost, at least twice a week." Clair shrugged, "I don't get lost nearly as much anymore. Only when I'm sneaking out after dark and it all looks different." The ravenclaw grinned "But don't tell anyone I said that!" She was joking of course. Clair rarely snuck out now, she was growing out of that, maybe.

Alana smiled brightly listening to the older girl happily taking in what she was talking about. Alana definitely agreed with her having at least two close friends were great someone you could trust no matter what. Though Alana made a few friends so far only one popped in her mind that would drop everything for her. Of course that was none other then Fan Hui-Ying. The girls became close ever sense they first met on the train. Along with their second night at Hogwarts staying in their dorms. Alana was happy with those she also met along the way though would they ever be as close as Alana is with Ying she was not sure. The young fiery red haired girl gazed up at the older girl. Alana's sea-foam blue eyes sparkled with pure joy as she continued to listen to what Clair spoke.

Alana giggled softly when Clair joked slightly about sneaking about the castle though Alana wished to sneak around as well the sense of rush and awe seemed rather exciting to the young girl.

"I bet the castle looks rather pretty at night."

Alana spoke softly just imagining the moons light gracing the castle the creatures that could be seen on castle grounds just exploring. It intrigued Alana and made the young girl tingle with excitement. The young girl continued to gaze at Clair curiously the older girl seemed rather kind and Alana felt extremely comfortable talking to her though Alana is a very talkative and open person something about Clair seemed to make the young girl beam with excitement.

"I bet you have many stories about Hogwarts so far huh?"

Alana spoke softly with excitement entangled with every word she spoke her sea-foam blue eyes radiated with pure joy and utter excitement. After all Alana was curious about Clair's adventures about her schooling. Alana continued to beam upwards at Clair awaiting an answer though she understood if Clair did not want to speak about her adventures.
