Quidditch Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor - Winter 2023

Ayuna was really proud of her team as the quaffle got into the Gryffindor goal again and again. The fabulous beater Jorah managed to hit three opponents, it was on fire! But suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, the Gryffindor seeker reached out her arm. Is the snitch going to be caught? Thank goodness, no. The seeker was hit and fell off her broom, how brutal! Still, it would be easier with her out of the way.

Edme settled back into the game the minute the other player left her broom. It took her only a moment to recollect her thoughts before realizing who had the upper-hand in the game. There was a small bit of pride in knowing that the first game that allowed her out on the field was, at least so far, going quite smoothly.

This had to be the longest match this announcer had ever been part of. What was this, like round 30?

Winnie and Finn and Jayke were supposed to go for the Quaffle. And it was going to be an epic story of back and forth and overcoming the odds against someone clearly better.
But, Jay didnt post.

Winnie was on fire! Because Jay and Finnegan refused to move. They just sat there. Watching the Quaffle instead of going after it. But she got 50 points!

And the flawlessly disguised announcer whom no one could possibly identify was not wrong. He was pretty sure this was the most brutal match he'd ever been around for in terms of players being dropped. This might just be decided by who got more Quaffle goals since the Snitch seemed to be nowhere in sight.

And speaking of the snitch being nowhere in sight, that.... well that was reality. Neither seeker would be able to spot the snitch yet. Evidently the little guy had wised up after nearly being caught a few minutes ago, and had decided to lay low.

The announcer, in his infallible disguise, was beginning to legitimately wonder if the snitch would be caught before all the players were gone. That would be a first in his career.

Damion was really hoping that his house would win this game. He could feel that. He could hear the scores and sort of knew that they were in the lead. He justed wanted Ravenclaw to keep that lead to be honest. He was doing as he was asked. He didn't protest against it. He would fight about anything to be honest.

It had been a long game, and Pax was tired. They loved quidditch, but the extent of this game had been taxing on them. Losing their guard for a second was too much, and they were sent tumbling from their broom, luckily to be caught by Matthew. Least they'd managed a hit on Edward.

"We can still win this," they tried to motivate. "There's still a chance. We can do this."

Jay had zoned out for the moment. Fatal mistake, as when he came back to, 50 points was added to the opposing teams score. Well. Not his fault. He wasn't even driving the broom. He looked around, seeing many sharing brooms. This was a massacre. They needed to find a way to turn this around, and fast. But what could he do? He sighed, running a hand through his unkempt brown hair. "Okay." He muttered, mostly to himself. "We can do this. Just pay attention." He tunes out the.. quite annoying and mocking announcer, and turned to focus his short attention-span on the game. They needed to at least put up a fight.

The points were racking up for Ravenclaw, thanks to the quick work of Winnie. She was proving a valuable asset to the team, and Cecily was looking forward to seeing her on the pitch more regularly. If they kept this up, they wouldn't need to catch the snitch at all (although it sure would be nice if Edward, affectionately, could spot the damn thing already). Cecily finished her penalty lap, surveying the state of the pitch. They were totally still in this thing, even though it was the longest match in a while. They could still pull it off.

Liam's broom swept through the air, dodging between players and equipment alike as his sights were set on the opposing players. At first the boy was a little unsteady, nerves gradually working their way out of his body to be replaced with adrenaline and a fierce competitive spirit. His teeth ground together as he took a swing, unfortunately the resulting shot was a miss, but it was a good test to calibrate his accuracy. He looked on towards his captain and continued the assault, he had to prove his worth, or at least get knocked off his broom trying.

Effect:In the role of Beater, if you hit an opponent with a bludger the bludger will then ricochet off that user and target a second opponent of choice (must be declared, if not declared the target will be random and can be an ally but not yourself).

Spotting the snitch was always a challenge. It was fast, and tiny and while you’d think in the sunniest weather the damn things golden shine would give it away it very rarely actually did. At least that tended to be the case when you were actually playing for a game or practice it seemed.

Any seekers who did find it easily…it was dark magic. Probably sold their soul to the golden snitch, bloody menace. By Merlin he couldn’t spot the damned thing anywhere!
