Closed April Fools at Hogwarts Errand

Pranks weren't really Kiana's thing. She wasn't into it, but more importantly, she was cautious. When others played pranks, the victim would be surprised then the pair would have a laugh and skip off happily. When Kiana pulled pranks, it was never received well. "Cruel" and "mindless" where the names she'd get called. She never understood why. Maybe she was different, or maybe it was the fact that she was "your average wealthy, pureblooded Slytherin."

And she never pulled a prank since.

At least, not until now. This time in Hogwarts, she just had to have a little fun. Besides, even professors were encouraging it, so what could possibly be wrong about it? Just some jolly banter wouldn't hurt a fly. Surely no one would mind and if they did, that was their problem. My, how much she'd changed. So, she set off to write a letter to Ms. Blumenthal, cooking up a prank idea she was sure to surprise anyone. Surely it would be the best out of them all.

Dear Professor Blumenthal,

If I'm not mistaken, I'm expected to submit my prank idea to you. Here goes nothing: I am not usually interested in pulling pranks, but I've had this idea kept in the back of my head for far too long. My idea is food related. I assure you it has nothing to do with poison and will not hurt the target in any way. As a person who enjoys cooking/baking (as a hobby), I decided it would be fun to take the most hated vegetable, brussel sprouts (I don't understand why people hate them, they're quite delicious but, oh well.) and coat them with chocolate frosting and sprinkles, creating the illusion of a "cake-pop." Said prank target will consume the treat thinking it is a cake pop but end up discovering the yucky truth - greens hidden under a popular dessert. I may have a couple more brewing in my head, but my fingers are starting to get sore....perhaps they'll come to me one night when I'm trying to focus on my homework. Oh well! They're sure to turn up in my head soon.

Kiana proofread her letter once more with satisfaction, and headed off to hand her letter to Professor Blumenthal. She approached the professor with a smile and confidence, feeling so sure that her idea would please them and she would not fail to make them proud.

Ashley wanted to join in the activity because it had been a while since he had done errands and when it was announced that one was taking place in the great hall, he was somehow excited. He traversed into the great hall as he observed many pupils congregating in one location and some noise filling the space. As Ashley moved closer to the crowd, he heard the professors of Divination and Care Of Magical Creatures addressing the students who had gathered there. According to what Ashley heard, Professor Sabine addressed the participants and gave them instructions on what they needed to accomplish for the errand, which sounded really exhilarating.

A tradition of practical jokes and hoaxes on April 1st was known as April Fools' Day. April Fools! is a common way for jokesters to reveal their tricks. The idea was entertaining and humorous, and it felt like the greatest way to catch someone off guard. Ashley then went to get a piece of parchment and a quill to start writing the prank he had imagined in his head.
Because of the way Ashley's mind is wired and how it continually improves, he might be the brain behind schemes and mischief. Despite his ability to plan and organise mischief, he was not the average young man to get himself into trouble. He joined a few pupils at one of the tables who had already begun writing down their ideas. He gave Care of Magical Creatures and Divination Professors a practical joke idea after giving it thorough and intelligent thinking.

"Hm? Let's see!" He addressed himself.

Hello, Professor Blumenthal

I have a few ideas for practical jokes, but I'm not sure where to start. I'm hoping you and Divination Professor would like the one I have in mind.

My suggestion is that you play this practical joke on a few of your coworkers; I realise it may seem random, but it's a good one.

As a lovely gesture to show how amazing your coworkers are, you may offer to prepare coffee for them. Then, the cruellest but most classic thing you could do is to substitute salt for sugar in the coffee you made for them so that when your colleagues groggily go to drink their first cup of coffee, they'll get a tastebud surprise. Perhaps keep a steaming cup of freshly brewed coffee with sugar ready to go in case this one goes haywire!

I'm sure this will be really amusing, but it's also a terrific way to have fun!

After finishing what he had written, he made a point of going to the submission area, where Professor Blumenthal was present, and submitting what he had written. He hoped that both Professors would enjoy it and have a good time with the other Professors. This muggle-planned day was a lot of fun.

Bailey was slightly excited but also nervous about this errand. She had attended every errand she had known about that school year, and was not going to miss this one simply because she was not sure about it, or its topic.
Bailey was not big on pranking, but bailey did know some pranksters, her best friend @kim sato being among them. Bailey was also a member of a prank club, The Mischief Makers, but that was only because Kim was the head of it and bailey felt an obligation to be a member.
Bailey had gotten dressed that morning in a simple outfit, some blue slacks, a simple white blouse, a loose tan cardigan, sparkly blue high tops, a black bag, round gold glasses, and a few glod pieces of jewlry including a blue and gold ring, and a simple gold bracelet.
At the errand or pranking seminar, bailey took a seat. Bailey listened to what the professors said, and was genuinely glad she had came. The professors made a good point - pranks should never ever be harmful, and should not be humiliating either. If a prank did either of those things, bailey felt that the prankster responsible for it deserved at least three detentions, and to write a sincere apology to the person they had pranked - at the very least. Bailey had been on the receiving end of a not so awesome prank, at the hands of a Griffindor, and she had kinda exploded at him. Neither one of them had handled it too well, but bailey felt that her reaction had been accurate.
Bailey's submission for the prank ideas was actually something she had pulled on her brothers years ago, and bailey thought it was good enough to share.


Dear Professor Blumenthal,
my idea is not as original as many others probably have been, but pranking is not really in my nature. This is something i pulled on my younger brothers several years past, and is fairly simple.
All i did was to - the night before- turn their milk for breakfast into a solid. I did this by adding a pack of activated gelatin to each glass, and mixing it. I let it set in the fridge, and the next morning, i gave them their milk in their glasses... and they were so confused it was really funny.
You could also turn other drinks to solids, like lemonade, or you could even do the milk, in a bowl, mixed with some cereal. That would defiantly be harder to pull off, but could be done.

April Fool's day was a day no different than any other for the boy known generally as Piérre Marchonné to most of the staff at Hogwarts. Of course his flippant crusades against following the status quo and instead challenging the patiences of many a prefect and student teacher alike were almost of legendary status to the Hogwarts rumor weed. What was yet another source of rumor was that many did not know the true house that Piérre had been sorted into unless they decided to take time out of their schedules to either inquire from a student roster or from the student archives themselves. Not even Piérre himself shared his true house, and if asked would never come out with a straight answer.

Today he was with the house of the individuals that he once thought he would have blended in with most; the noble house of Hufflepuff's gold and black. He was focused more on his cat, however, and after gently letting the feline down, he commanded dearest Figaro to keep an eye on the surroundings with the Italian word; "Osservare."

Having sent his familiar out to keep an eye on the rest of the area, the boy focused again on the two professors who were explaining an errand that... really didn't need to be explained.

Blinking slowly at the two obtuse female teachers, Piérre rolled his eyes lightly and put his head on the table, rolling a quill between his index finger and the table's surface. He had many methods of mischief available to him, sure, but why should he follow the fold of everyone else around him that needed such confinements to their creativity? Wasn't it better to be original? With an amused huff of laughter and a closed smile, Piérre almost didn't hear when the Care of Magical Creatures professor proclaimed something that caused the Jester to nearly snap the quill he had been playing with.

"Pranks should never, ever, ever... be done to humiliate others."

Emerald eyes went wide for a moment before they hardened and then creased into two hard shards of bottle green glass. His former smile snapped into a sneer as he creased his brow. Pranks should indeed never harm people physically. That was not a prank then, but an abuse that called for nothing but trouble to be had. That was wrong; that was assault. Pranks, however, were not simply a jest that had hollow purpose for the sake of a short-lived laugh. That was not the goal of such a powerful action as bringing high the low and laying low the proud and performing 'pranks' in that manner was simply for the sake of petty clout.

No. Pranks had meaning; purpose. There was never a target except for those who needed you most. Those who fell 'victim' to your ploys were those who needed it the most and nobody else. It was the whimsy of fate and chance that allowed the person to be humbled in such a way that caused them to see the world differently even if only for a second, in a way that caused them to stand in the shoes of the ones that it was likely that they despised, disliked, or perhaps even made fun of. That was a prank well-done. A prank intended to humiliate if they needed to be humiliated, to uplift if they needed to uplift and offer a laugh to the downtrodden. Pranks did their purpose, it was the reaction of the person who was on the receiving end that told Piérre (and anyone else who cared enough to observe) all that anyone needed to know about the person; it revealed their pains, their distains, their joys and their outlook of the world. It was not the prank or the prankster's fault. It was the nature of the one that had one pulled over on them and nothing more.

As students tittered among themselves, Piérre raised his voice just loud enough to project in a way that would cause his timbre to bounce just right off the walls and conceal his location by means of throwing his voice. "That's a lie!" He called out, keeping his chin lowered as he started to write down other thoughts on a piece of paper. "That's exactly what pranks are intended to do, Professors!" He mused with an air of just barely veiled condescension. "They are intended to Humiliate. That is the very role of the Jester." His voice petered off as his hand continued to write upon the notebook paper.

A deceptively simple thing to make with all sorts of arts and crafts materials that anyone can find on their hands. So long as there is a container made of fragile material such as thin plastic, a balloon, or even a sugarglass (or glass) jar, this little contraption can be made.

To create this object of fun and friendship, you must take your container (with a lid, preferably) and promptly fill it with any amount or types of objects that you deem fit. The author's preferred creation is that of glitter with a base of glue, foam beads, and flowers for a pleasant floral scent. Contain all of these within the container and seal.

Upon finding a target, or setting it up in a place of ambush and then concealing yourself, you need only throw the FraGR at your target either by the use of your hand or by the use of a Flipendo spell. If using it as a tool of ambush, you must strike the FraGR with either a Flipendo spell or some other spell that will encourage the FraGR to explode when contacted.

Chaos will promptly ensue, and the victim will indeed find it difficult to clean up after the fact even if they have magic at their disposal. Speaking from experience, glitter never comes out of clothes or hair.

Putting the quill aside, the boy folded his paper and put it aside. He was not so crazy as to turn it in directly. If they really wanted to know about his prank and the method behind it, they could find it for themselves or else they didn't deserve to know it. If they were indeed tricksters even worthy of a fraction of their salt, they would take means to find any method of trickery that they wanted. "Long live the Jesters; they outlive kings and nobles, overthrowing the corrupt and bringing high the small." He proclaimed, snapping his fingers and calling his cat back to him again.

It would be a while before he took his leave-- he did not want to look suspicious for his arguably controversial outburst. When he did, though, he left silently and without a word. Long live the Jesters, you creatures of pride; for it be our job to lay low kings and raise the people, and to never receive compliment or reparation for our troubles lest we become no better than the powers we overthrew.

Azzy was quick to get dressed today. Today marked the start of the April Fools Day. They loved a good prank or two. And they were excited to test out some new ideas. Their plan? Prank as many people as possible. A trip wire was the best course of action. They were amazing with pully systems. And because they were muggle techniques, no other Pure-Blood would suspect a single thing. Azzy sat down and listened to the teachers talk. Ok. So nothing that will cause permanent damage to the students. But the professors said nothing about the students clothes. They were going to enjoy every bit of this. Azzy was quick to get up and grab a paper and quill. They sat down and started plotting, they had a few people that were going to get spared if they were very careful of their steps. And this was going to be fun, they quickly started writing on the parchment.

I wanted to go outside. It was April, so the weather was way better. Ava was coming back soon, and I was glad. I had missed her really bad, even though I had owled her basically every single day.

Walking down all of the stairs, and passing the great hall, I heard a professor welcoming students to some sort of seminar on… pranking? That seemed interesting, so I stopped and crept in. I wanted to know what was going on. The tables were covered in supplies, with plenty of room to work.

The professors began asking the kids to make their own prank, and journal it down in a letter to them. I was interested, so I slipped over to the end of a table quietly to listen to their directions. It seemed like their only rule was to have the pranks be harmless and not to hurt anyone in any way. Seems easy enough, I though, happy that it was on of the errands that seemed fun. I would do the prank idea and then go outside. Awesome.

Grabbing a plain piece of parchment and a quill I began to write.

Dear Professors,
My prank is one that works well, especially if the person has lots of products that they use in their hair. First, you need a bottle of the hair products, and something to block the path of the product, I use something known as plastic wrap in the muggle world. Personally, the plastic wrap works way better than a few other things that I’ve tried. You just unscrew the top, and place the plastic wrap on the hole, and screw the cap back on. Make sure no plastic wrap is sticking out, otherwise your prank will definitely be ruined. Test it to make sure that none of the product can come out of the bottle.

To take the prank to the next level, you could consider repeating the process to the rest of that person’s products that they have.

When I was done with my letter, I turned it in to the professors, and hoped that I had done a good enough job. I had done the prank on my sister on April Fools day, and she thought that she was out of shampoo. She complained to my mum, but mum showed her that it just had plastic wrap on it. I had to leave the room to keep from bursting out laughing.

When I had turned it in, I turned and left the great hall.

Dear Professor Blumenthal and Bardot,
Pranking is amazing and fun. It takes meticulous planning and can often be provoked. My friends have been stealing my gum latley and I am tired of it! So I will switch laxitive with the gum so they will never do it again! It is harmless and only invokes a bit of inconvienence.

Another idea is to put and egg in a pie pig and surround it with whipped cream! I would then give it to one of my friends so when they eat it they will get a gooey suprise! It is harmless yet genious.

My last idea is to cover the boys dormotory with fake spiders! They will freak out and it will be entertaining as heck! It is harmless and once they figure it out they will be slightly annoyed. I do ask you to turn your eye to the sneaking part for it is to genious and I would not like to get in trouble.

As always, attending the errands always caused notable attention by students at Hogwarts. Hades wasn’t one of them, because he wasn’t really as interested in pranks as most other students. But if he went there, he could learn some pranks, and in this way, know how to avoid them. If there was something that Hades would be so mad about, it was being pranked. And he didn’t take it well at all. He had even shown signs of sudden anger. Anyone who knew him well enough, would know that just seeing him and judging by his expression, it was a bad idea to do a prank with him. But he wasn’t going to make it a big deal, because that was non-stop at Hogwarts. Who really cared? Another reason he had to go to the great hall was because of Damion, who Hades was very excited to see. If his prank idea wasn’t good enough, he could always turn to his beloved boyfriend for help. I can’t be that bad, can I?

For this certain event, Hades was dressed casually. In his outfit was a white McLaren shirt with orange lines, small drawings of letters. The shirt was unbuttoned and revealed a little of his collarbone. He wore dark blue pants, which could easily be confused with black and a buckle belt. Comfortable shoes. And of course, his new accessory, an expensive watch that he had recently received. Lately Hades had begun to take more care of his style and show certain changes. He had left the ordinary clothes and now wore expensive clothes, including the tracksuit. That might be the influence he had obtained from his family, who had tried to compensate for Hades’s true origins, as he discovered that Ancel was no longer his real name. And his disappointment and anger was expressed during the last few months since that, with most people. But getting gifts improved his mood.

Hades looked at Sabine, who already knew her because he worked as an intern in her class. He was listening to talk, starting first with a welcome and then explaining that they should write in a kind of diary the pranks they had in mind. He noticed the objects that were out there, which made the boy think that he would also have to do some crafts; so at first it seemed quite interesting and had its appeal as it had no reason to reject the plan to stay here to think about some prank. The professor continued talking, pointing out that pranks should not hurt or cause humiliation “That I can do.” commented Hades softly, and hurried to get comfortable, having to think of an excellent prank that was good enough. The problem is that Hades used to think of different choices, or some that couldn’t be impressive. Groaning, he grabbed a feather and a sheet of a paper, ready to write.

Finally, Hades was done with the only thing he had to do. But there was one thing left to do. That was to do something that defined prank through craft. Using his experience with crafts, he made a small bottle where a hand sanitizer was used and socks. He spent a while trying to notice the imperfections but... There was nothing to make him think it was wrong. Satisfied with what he had done, he got up and handed over his prank ideas to Professor Blumenthal. Instead of leaving as some of his classmates had, Hades remained at the table. He had decided to wait because he wanted to accompany Damion to do something after. He didn’t care what, but it was better to do something to spend his time with his boyfriend. It was quite curious how they had gotten to that point since they started out as friends and then became a couple. But there were things that needed to be talked about.
