Nico stood in front of the mirror trying to fix every little flaw in his outfit. First, it would be uneven, then the sleeve would have a crease, and then- "Oh forget it. It's fine. You're going to be late, and Duvessa probably does not want to be kept waiting."
He rushed out of the bathroom, up the never-ending flights of stairs, into the corridors, and out onto the grounds. As the crowd of people came into sight, Nico slowed his pace to a walk. There were a lot of people. Probably every student in Hogwarts and then more.
Every muscle in his body protested, telling him to walk away from the ocean of people, but his will to see Duvessa overpowered it.
As he stood near the shore of the sea of students, Nico looked over the crowd hoping to see Duvessa. Within a few moments, he saw her. She really did stand out in a crowd, even if that crowd was crushing, crowded, anxiety-causing, and might give someone claustrophobia.
Nico took a deep breath and sighed, "Let the hunger games begin..."
Walking through the crowd wasn't nearly as hard as Nico had anticipated. Although that may be because people liked to avoid Nico, so they seemed to move away from him.
When he finally made it to where Duvessa was standing, he was out of breath.
"Good evening, m'lady," Nico managed to mutter while a slight head nod as he attempted to regain his breath.
"I see you've got company. Care to introduce your friend?"

Today finally here! Today is the day for the annual Hogwarts Ball. Ever since the Headmistress of Castelobruxo told the entire student body that they will gracefully attend Hogwarts Ball, the Brazilian could not wait. He could not wait to see his redhead princess again.

The last time the young couple met was during Haley's Christmas - New Year holiday that she and her parents spent it in his beloved hometown São Paulo, Brazil. The holiday was beyond wonderful because Ronnie could spend it with all the people that he hold dear and near in his heart.

Once Ronnie knew that he will attend the Ball, he sent Cash numerous owls asking what to expect during the Ball, the theme for the ball itself, and how to behave on such an occasion. Because for him - since he was born and raised as a Pureblood - much like the same as his dear snarky cousin Cash Ironwoods, he needs to be on his best behavior.

Waiting for the letter to get back to him was nerve-wracking. He deliberately not telling his gorgeous girlfriend, Haley Rose, that he will be there. He wanted to surprise his beautiful redhead princess. And so, a few days before his departure from Brazil to where Hogwarts castle was located, a letter from Cash arrived.

The owl only contained four quick and short sentences. Prepare For The Worst. It was what Cash said in the letter. Ronnie had asked whether Cash will attend the ball or not but his green eyes badass of a cousin did not said anything except those three cryptic words. The reunion with his girlfriend was beyond nice.

Ronnie had shed a tear or two which how much he missed his girlfriend and he was not afraid to admit it. Ronnie always put his heart on his sleeve. That trait was his strongest and weakest. Maintaining a long-distance relationship while staying at the top of his class was harder than Ronnie thought.

But Ronnie was a fighter. He will fight for what he loves the most. And so, once the Ball rolled in. The young Duellist had donned one of that King-like outfits when he was ready to go to war. Ronnie never dressed that way before and he felt like he was royalty. He waited for his M'lady patiently. And when Haley showed up in her dress, Ronnie's heart leaped out from his ribcage.

"Wow!"The commented. It seems it was his default response every time he saw his girlfriend. "You always look so enchanting no matter what you wear, my dear Rose"Ronnie said as he bend down to plant a kiss on Haley's cheek. Once both the youngster stood facing the tall bushes and hedges of the maze, Ronnie offered his hand for Haley to take.

Once the couple intertwined their fingers, both of them run into the maze with giddy laughter that they let out into the late evening sky. It took a while and a lot of dead ends for both of them to find the exit. "I think we got lost, mi amor my love,"Ronnie stated as he looked around. It took several minutes later to find the correct exit.

And when they did, both Haley and Ronnie run toward the light hand-in-hand. Another joyful laughter erupted from them. Running inside the maze was like one of those fairytale movies that his youngest sister loves. Once they exit from the maze, the fanfare of music coming from the Ball grazed the cross-continent couple's ears.

Ronnie then looked at Haley's green eyes. "Our merry night shall begin, my love," Ronnie tried and failed to mimic those old English King with his thick English-Portuguese accent."Let's dance the night away, M'lady," Ronnie said as he put one of his hands behind his back. He gives out a quick bow down toward his beautiful girlfriend.

Once he stood up, Ronnnie opened his palm once again for Haley to take in hers.

Eun-ji was just about to move out of his way when she noticed something strange. She looked around to make sure she wasn’t wrong but couldn’t really see anyone else behind her. Why is he smiling at me? What’s with the hand? Do I know him? No, the Ravenclaw was pretty sure she did not know the boy. These types of handsome faces were hard to forget. “Wait…what?” She didn’t even get to finish her sentence before the mysterious stranger dragged her into the maze and true to his word, spun her around. Thankfully, the young ballerina was living and breathing dance so even if it was this unexpected, she didn’t stumble and followed his lead flawlessly. It was like an instinct at this point. Well…so much for deciding whether to go in or not. Sure, she came here for a distraction but she didn’t expect this. It was way too early for the chaos to start. “What are you doing? Do we know each other?” Eun-ji finally managed to finish her sentence.

At last, the witch got the an explanation she was looking for and it kind of made sense yet at the same time she couldn’t help thinking how ridiculous it was. Yes, she hesitated but why did he care? Eun-ji honestly couldn't wrap her head around it so she simply stayed silent and listened to him talk. Yes, Yes I did come for a reason but it’s probably completely different from what you are thinking. “Well, you already dragged me here so I might as well go.” She paused then and looked at him, a hint of suspicion in her eyes. He was nice to look at but the cheery attitude made her nervous. What did he want from her? Her life has become far too gloomy to believe someone was this friendly and excited for no reason at all. The witch then looked at the offered hand. “Thank you but from here, I’ll be fine on my own. You should go meet your date…or whoever is waiting for you.” Eun-ji refused to believe someone like him came to this event alone.

The Ravenclaw did not smile but her tone wasn’t entirely unpleasant. She was merely informing the boy about her intentions. Once she did, she bowed slightly, a reflex when meeting a fellow Asian student, and took a step forward. Surely, he was not going to follow her.

Little nervous, feeling every crease in her dress sway as the breeze lightly flew by. Monica was excited for this ball. Originally she wasn't going to go, due to the events from the fall, things seemed more dangerous going than missing out on possible dances or events. However, meeting up with Hiro, hearing that he wasn't going with anyone, Monica couldn't help but offer her company to him. Ever since summer, the pair stayed in decent contact. The odd owl here or there, checking in, it was nice to have such a good friend from another school. Plus the fact that these visits never lasted super long, what kind of a friend would she be if she didn't go?

Spruced up in her nicest dark fairy attire, Monica entered the at the entrance of the ball. In time to see her good friend Bea enter with her 'date' Hunter....Monica took a mental note to catch up with her at the ball. She knew enough to know that Bea wasn't the biggest fan of the boy, and for reasons unknown as to why she agreed to go with him, Monica would never understand.

Looking around though, she wasn't able to see Hiro, but rather than wait out front for him, she ventured into the maze, they agreed to meet at the ball after all, not outside the entrance. Plus this way she could get some snacks before meeting up with him.

Stepping into the maze, her mind fluttered with thoughts of fantasy, of being lost in a mystical forest... talking with all manures of mythical creature, avoiding dangerous foes, it was all so breath taking. Not really paying attention to where she was going, Monica just mindlessly followed whatever group of people ahead of her... within no time, she made her way into the main section of the ball. Quickly she spotted Hiro, with Hunt... Not sure if she wanted to walk over to join the due, or get some drinks, Monica couldn't help but barge into their conversation. "Hiro! Hey!" Monica said as she approached, open for a hug if the boy would offer one. Looking over to Hunt, Monica reached out her hand in greeting, "Ah and the fierce duelist... pleasure to make your acquaintance outside of the arena." Monica could feel her heart racing, Eun-ji was an incredible duelist, hopefully she saw Monica in the same way, and not just as some kid who got lucky.

Royal gowns, and enchanted mazes, Jannette was excited yet anxious for today’s Spring Court. While this is her second time preparing for another big ball, Jannette was still frantically running around her dorm to the point where even her poor cat was getting dizzy. Still, Jannette was really giddy about this year's Spring Ball for a few reasons. For one, she loved this year's theme, the idea of dressing as the Princess of Apples honestly made the Spring Court so thrilling. Second, she was finally free from her ‘dorm arrest’, by her mom due to Jannette forgetting to turn in her library books, which – by the way, wasn’t her fault! How the heck was she supposed to know that the library wanted all 50 of their dueling books back in a month?! And finally (yet most importantly), Jannette decided to go alone for this year's ball because she had one goal in mind, to win The Knights Tourney! Sure, she could’ve gone with someone, but after last year when she got stood up by Thymus Quercy, a first-year Slytherin student, it was probably best to just play it safe. And besides, she didn’t need no man to make her happy for the Spring Court, she is the Princess of Apples after all.

After what felt like 5 hours of preparation, Princess Applebottom headed out of the common room adorned in a royal green floral gown, which her mother made sure (especially from the crazy adventures of the Fall Ball) to have pockets and a holder for her wand. She also wore long green satin gloves, obnoxiously large rose-gold circular spectacles, green apple pin earrings, and last but not least, her iconic green apple tiara, which she had perfectly presented on her head. Her hair was done in a half-braid, and her nails sparkled matching her green aesthetic. Last but not least she finished off with a green apple perfume.

Heading to the ball, with the wind blowing through her hair, Jannette couldn’t help but reminisce about everything that has happened to her in Hogwarts. From the surprised look on her face, when the raggedy old hat told her she was going to be in Slytherin. To when she cried to her housemates about wanting to be in Gryffindor (just even thinking about that still makes her cringe to this day). To even the time she won a wizarding duel against her Ravenclaw rival, Cynthia Beaufort! Okay, technically she didn’t “win”, but Jannette did hit Cynthia with a few hex’s before Lucia ended the duel, so in Jannettes eyes, it counted as a victory.

Still, even with all that, Jannette was happy for the friends she made on the way and the crazy adventures they had, and honestly, she was happy to be a part of Slytherin. Plus, she couldn’t believe that in just a few more months, she was gonna be in a second year… A SECOND YEAR.

Oh, Merlin, I’m gonna be old…!

At the entrance of the maze, Jannette’s eyes scanned the beautiful hedges. The beautiful pink pods of the garden shrubs, and the elegant scent of sweet roses, really just added to the magic of the maze. "Woooaaahhh so pre'y!~"¹ she said, her eyes completely mesmerized by the beautiful flowers on the tall hedges, which of course, in typical Jannette fashion she had to touch. As she was about to touch the petals, the flower decided to strike, “Oiiii!” she squawked, pulling her hand like she touched a hot stove. “Okay, yer no’ uhh noice flower…”² She said sternly, wagging her finger to the flower like a parent scolding a child. Already by the looks of things, she knew this was going to be like the fall ball. So, with an alert look on her face, the young first-year started her journey through the enchanted maze…

The first time Vee was in a Hogwarts ball, it was a little bit awkward with awkward interaction with friends, and also there was those enchanted apples who *enchanted* you to do or experience something weird..but after all it wasn’t the worst time of her life, she had fun.
Violet was also much more shy and felt more awkward when it came to interacting with people, probably because this school was such a new environment for her, but she got used to it. She felt more like she belonged here now.

So she decided to join the spring ball too. She decided on wearing a dark shade of green dress which symbolized both the spring season and his house. She had put some flowers on her head too as an accessory. When she arrived at the grounds she expected to just go into the ballroom and not face a literal maze, but here she was.

She looked around to see if there’s any familiar faces that could keep her company and help her through the maze just in case she by herself couldn’t. But she didn’t see anyone familiar. She decided to just follow where the majority was going through the maze. As she kept walking on she found someone she knew in the end.

She saw Monica, she was talking to some other people Violet didn’t know. She felt suddenly anxious but attempting at hiding it with more confidence and easy-goingness she walked towards them.

“Hi Monica! How have you been?” She said, smiling. Then she turned around to face the others and waved. “Hello. I’m Violet, nice to meet you all!”

Roksana was hurrying over to Angelique as fast as her green velvet slippers could carry her(which was a lot slower than she had expected). Angelique was with 2 boys. One of them looked about her age with a black tuxedo suit, and another boy who looked older than her by a couple of years or so, wearing a blazer with a flower pattern that looked like baba's embroidery or potpourri.

"Hello," said Roksana, acknowledging the two boys with Angelique. She turned to her, smiling. Roksana was so glad to be near somebody who she actually recognized for once, though she didn't see the boy she'd met 3 days earlier on the grounds...she figured he'd be here since the place was full of so many bumbling students. (at least, she thought they were bumbling)...

Upon Angelique agreeing to go into the maze with her, Roksana grinned and said in Russian, "Great! Let me know when you're ready." Roksana took another long look at the looming labyrinth before her and wondered what surprises awaited her inside. She noticed the mix of different students there, but she didn't think she saw many Koldovstoretz students...

Oh well. She promised herself and her Mama that she would have fun and mingle while she could because those were two favorite things. Of course, Mama probably didn't know or care that this was harder for Roksana to do at a social event such as, say, a ball. But would she let that stop her? No! Just because she was standing near a couple of cute boys would not stop her from doing anything. She hoped, since this was new and not like her at all...

Adya usually liked attending parties and such but not to the level of hopping through her way towards her dorm with all her teeth showing. Howbeit on this day, that's exactly what happened. Once again she's going to a ball with Asher! For the second time! With Asher! The young girl was on cloud nine. In the past week, after a whole evening wasted by hunting for a dress inside her trunk, Adya wrote a letter. A single parchment containing an apology for having stolen her sister's dress, gratitude for the ton of help she received from her sister although Adya had to scratch her head for a whole night to recall and exaggerate a few things, a love letter on how great her lovely sister is, and ended with a request to send her a dress for this occasion.

It pained her to write such a letter to her sister. But if she wears her usual clothes, wouldn't Asher come to the conclusion that she's not interested in him? Maybe not... But she'd not risk it. Adya had put on the raspberry rose coloured dress which was too long for her liking but comfortable nonetheless. Should she do something to her face? Makeup done by Caoimhe for Valentine's ball didn't feel bad as she thought. Truth be told, something in the corner of her heart liked it a tiny bit. This time, Adya didn't feel like consuming her friend's time. Nor is she going to try it herself! Not the time for trial and error. This time, she gave a chance to the cosmetic puff. To let it do its work. It gave her the natural look she wanted. The final touch, a few strokes with the Comb of vanity and her hair partitioned on the side. God! She loves magic! Adya left the dorm with her bag after a quick look at herself in the mirror.

The tulle fabric literally swept the floor as she paced up toward the grounds. The strands of dark hair danced as the soft breeze blew past her. Abruptly, her feet halted from taking any more steps when her eyes spotted someone. The corners of her lips stretched into a big grin as she gazed at him in that outfit. She strode towards Asher "Oh my- Two eyes are not enough! you look so handsome!" with her expression and tone not hiding her amazement. Within a few moments, "Shall we?" Adya held his hand and gestured to the maze before they both made their way through the maze.

There were two words repeating inside Estelle's head as she got ready for the ball: no and why.

Stupid Hogwarts and their stupid ball. Estelle wasn't entirely sure why she decided to go. She wasn't sure why she had decided to get all dressy for this event. As she examined herself in the mirror, she put on a necklace she had received from Charlotte. She cursed herself. First stupid Hogwarts then stupid Charlotte. Even though she had the earge to rip the beautiful charm right off her neck, she had to admit it made her somewhat happy to have a little memory of home. Ilvermorny home? Hardly. But her little apartment was what she missed even though she wouldn't dare to say this outloud.

Estelle thought she looked rather bright, in her sunflower outfit. She was hoping other people wore outfits just as bright as hers; she didn't want to stand out. Was a sunflower even a spring-flower? The ginger shook her head. She put on heels that made her taller, she reached average height like this, as Estelle was rather short, the shoes made her taller. They were clear with about a billion flowers in them- naturally it was another home relic. From Paul. This time, she actually took one shoe and threw it across the room, in an attempt to make herself feel better. No matter what, any gift from Paul was unwanted. She didn't want them. Estelle eyed the shoe warily. Judging from what she had packed, she knew didn't have anything else to wear.
I'd rather go barefoot than wear those, Estelle thought, but she moved swiftly and picked up the heel, slipping in on her foot, once more making her taller. She put on a pair of earrings that were like daisys. What was with her and gifts from home? But these earrings were old, from her dad. She got them when she was nine, around a year later when he left. She kept them to this day, because these atleast were something she liked.

After getting ready and spending about half an hour on her hair, Estelle was just about ready to go. Her wand was in her pocket she had already given herself a speech which involved don't get tied up in anything unnecessary. Knowing Estelle, she wasn't going to live up this little speech.

Estelle arrived at the location of the ball- or atleast the entrance. A maze. Estelle smiled as she got closer- she actually smiled. The sight of a maze made Estelle strangely happy. A lot of books she had spent hours reading at home- stories on the labyrinth and such. It triggered a little memory of home, it made her happy. Most memories from home made her happy. Except the shoes. She was going to send the shoes back as soon as she got back to school. But But for now, she was going to enjoy herself. Estelle entered the maze and started walking, she saw a familiar face as she walked too.

"Andy!" Estelle surprised herself with the enthusiastic tone, but she walked towards the second year, catching up with him. "Hey, how are you?"
