The boy had heard that he was going to hold an event that had captured his attention, one that had to do with books. Although he remembered, he had heard through some classmates that the event was due to World Book Day. He had not been quite sure what it consisted of, and so he had to ask around, whose answer was that he should bring a book to donate, and if he wanted, he could borrow a book. Hades had also learned that for the event, he could go dressed as one of his favorite characters from the book. For this, he chose to dress himself as Alec Lightwood, a character with whom he had been identified by his crisis of finding himself and because both personalities were similar. The only thing that had not modified were his curls, as they were the favorite part of his body.

As soon as he left his bedroom, he remembered the book — as he had almost forgotten it, with so many things on his mind. Who could blame him? It was one of those events that Hades would love to be involved with. He bit his lower lip, since he wasn’t sure if it was right. Maybe someone might have misinterpreted it. It’s pretty unlikely, since you’ve added fake tattoos on your neck and arms. Hades frowned and tilted his head, shrugging. He took the rest of what he needed: his glasses and the wand. Most of the time, the badger did not need to wear glasses but used them when he needed to read. And since it was a book-related event, it was going to be quite likely that he would go read something. Depending on how it would go and if he found the right book. The sense of curiosity was prominent.

He walked in a hurry, wanting to arrive soon. Because of this, his steps were strong and resonated through the passages, but the chatter of the students who were around helped to block the sound of his footsteps. He pursed his lips, having forgotten for a few minutes where the event was. In the library? It wouldn’t make much sense, because there was no talking and there was no room for so many things. Then he remembered that it was celebrated at the Great Hall, so he rushed to get there. And he was pleasantly surprised to see how the place had transformed “Wow!” he whispered, blinking in awe. The place had been transformed, with two tables. They were separated by categories, and there was even room for snacks. Hades had a feeling he could spend hours here reading books.

He went to get a snack. Typical of Hades, whenever he came to a place where there was food, it was the first thing he went. Chewing, he was examining the table, looking at what books were on the table. He was examining the book he had brought to donate, but worried that it might not be interesting enough, as most people preferred stupid novels like Twilight. Ugh, he had read it once and all he felt was regret for reading that piece of crap. He could also have influence that his preferences were different, such as those of Mortal Engines and The 5th Wave. Hades recalled that someone had mentioned that he had a preference for books that focused more on adventure and the story that gave rise to the events of books. He noticed that Kim was at the place, so he came over to greet him and chat a little.

He watched as Kim grabbed food next to Bailey, which reminded him enough of squirrels as they did in a similar way “You know what? I think I should call you Squirrel Aoki.” he teased, tilting his head. He stared at the food, and instead of imitating them, he just went on eating one by one. Hades bit his lower lip “Have you seen Damion, by the way?” he asked Bailey, remembering that they were both from the same house. He hadn’t seen him around, so he must have been there or somewhere else. He noticed the book and gestured to them, leaving for a moment to leave the book he was going to donate. And then he went to find the table where he could borrow a book, but he wasn’t quite sure which one. There were interesting books, and certainly some were within his liking.

He was a little unsure, until the drawing of a bird in a golden circle caught his attention. The way it was positioned with the wings extended and held the arrow with the beak. The title was The Hunger Games. His nimble fingers grabbed the book, having made the decision. He went back to where Kim and Bailey were “My apologies, I wanted to see if there was a book that was within my standards and so enjoy a good reading.” replied, flashing a smile. He looked around and saw how a boy had brought a cat, which reminded him of something “Aoki, weren’t you allergic to cats?” asked frowning. Hades wasn’t 100% sure but he had to ask, just in case. The relationship between Hades and Kim was confusing, especially since it happened at the Sato Ball.

Bailey gave him praise.

But Kim didn't much care for praise in general, it reminded him too much of those pureblood events.

Where everyone complimented or praised everyone else but secretly hated them and disliked their styles. But of course, as it was an important pureblood event, no one ever spoke the truth and sought to 'suck up' to those in power. What better way to do this than by praising and complimenting them? This was the main reason why Kim didn't like praise or compliments. Not that he'd ever tell anyone this. "Are you dressed up as someone?" Kim asked, letting his eyes flicker over her. He'd taken care to choose those select words.

In case she hadn't dressed up as someone and had just decided to style herself like this. Kim continued to stuff food into his mouth, diverting it into his cheeks as a quokka and squirrel might do. Back in the past, his nickname had been Quokka. Some had even referred to him as such and then when he'd gotten older he'd adopted a squirrel nickname as well. It made sense, after all quokkas and squirrels were very similar to eachother, although were actually different species. But he knew not many people knew what quokkas were.

They were native to Australia.

But had been seen in other countries from time to time too. He'd seen a few once before and gotten smitten.

They were so cute! Kim's nose continued to run but as long as those cats didn't get closer, he'd be able to survive without breaking out into a sneezing fit. Running noses were something he could handle for a few minutes. Every now and then, the darkhead looked up to see who else had entered the Great Hall and then returned his attention to the book in front of him. It was during one of these moments that he spotted his dueling partner, Rose Moon. The one who'd done such a great job with healing spells during their last duel.

Stage 2. The match where they'd gone against the Badgers. Kim wondered if Rose wanted to become a healer in the future, or if she'd just been naturally talented at it but had no interest in making it into a career. He hadn't had a chance to ask her but at the same time, Kim had been avoiding people in general over the past few months. As Kim met Rose's eyes, they both recognized eachother and Rose smiled at him which he returned with a nod of his head, as he wasn't really the type to smile much. But it should have been enough.

Kim let his eyes flicker over her.

The girl was wearing a red hoodie and jeans. So it was hard to tell if she was dressed up as someone.

Or if it was just her fashion sense at work. Rose seemed to be otherwise occupied, so Kim returned his attention to his book again. Puffie hopped over to Bailey and then hopped over to stare at the others present at the errand, his bug-eyes wide as the bustling sounds overtook him. As Hades drew closer to the table he was at, Puffie suddenly squeaked and hopped up and down. The pink puffball's bug-eyes were set on Hades and it seemed as if he wanted something from him. Either a pet or a treat! Or maybe even both if possible!!!!

As Hades spoke, Kim glanced over at him. "Yo!" He exclaimed, his mouth and cheeks full of food as he chewed on what was inside. The two had become a little closer after finding out they were kind of related, although due to both Kim and Hades's personalities, it was hard to really get close to someone. Especially in a short amount of time. Hades's words made Kim shake his head a little. "You wouldn't be the first one to do so." But he didn't mind it. He liked both squirrels and quokkas, thus those names didn't bother him.

Come to think of it, he'd picked up a bunch of nicknames.

"I've been called squirrel and quokka before by multiple people in the past." Kim admitted.

What others was he known for? Prince of Sweets, Prince, Kiki by Gia, Kimmi by Roxie, and a slew of others. For a short time, he'd also been known as the Flipendo Prince too. Before he'd decided to experiment with lots of other types of spells. As Hades addressed Bailey, asking about whether she'd seen Damion lately, Kim averted his eyes. Before the Valentine's Day Party, he would have been the one to go to if someone was looking for Shiro. After all, Shiro was his friend and they'd been that way since he'd first started at Hogwarts.

But he hadn't expected Shiro would have romantic feelings for him. Even more so, he hadn't thought the boy would have thought they were dating just from the words he'd said to him. Hades had set him straight on Shiro's misunderstandings and Kim had spoken with him afterward about it. Ever since then, Shiro hadn't been around much. One might expect things to be awkward with them but Kim didn't feel that way at all, instead he felt guilty that he hadn't picked up on Shiro's feelings. He was usually very perceptive with others.

It was strange.

However, when it came to his own feelings and of people being interested in him...

Well, he supposed he wasn't that good at picking up on either one. Regardless, Kim remained quiet and didn't say anything regarding Shiro to Hades. After all, he hadn't been asked the question and there was nothing he wanted to add, therefore why should he speak up about it? Instead, Kim started to read again while eating his food at the same time. There was nothing better than eating delicious food while reading a book, right? As long as both were good, it was the perfect combination! The teen continued to eat and read...

Every so often wiping his running nose. Soon he'd be able to leave and it seemed as if luck was with him for now. The cats hadn't gotten any closer, as of the current moment. Hopefully, it stayed that way until he was done. He didn't notice when Hades left to pick up a book of his own and only became aware of this when the boy returned and then spoke again. Kim looked up, his cheeks stuffed with food again, and processed what Hades had just said to him. Ah right. "Mm. How did you know?" Kim asked. He hadn't told the boy yet...

Right? Maybe he'd heard about it or guessed perhaps.

Kim wiped his nose again. "Since there's cats nearby, that's why I'm trying to rush." He added.

"As long as they don't come closer, I'll be fine for a short time with just a runny nose. But if they get close, I end up going into a sneezing fit and sometimes black out. So if they get close before I'm done, I'm just gonna book it." Kim warned, in case he had to dash out without warning later on. For now, Kim wasn't too angry, depressed or in a bad state of mind. But it was only because his mind was elsewhere, focused on certain things. Such as cats. Puffie was also a tiny stress reliever for the boy.

Along with the books at the errand and the one that he'd picked up and was reading right now.

Pandora greeted Anna with compliments and a bunch of questions. It took Anna a second to find an answer to them. “Thank you Pandora! I donated The Tales of Beedle the Bard, it’s a book of fairy tales and it’s my all time favourite. I picked up this one”, Anna pulled out her new book and showed Pandora, she didn’t learn the name of it just yet. She started at the lion on the cover, itching to read it, but she stuffed it back.

She lifted her gaze back up at Pandora, as the girl asked about her costume. “Yeah it’s a witch named Amata, from one of the tales from the book I donated. Since I looked quite similar to her I picked her. I didn’t know if people were going to dress up, so I played it safe”. She glanced around the room that was filling up. She thought she recognized a few people. There in the corner was Ethan, whom she met on the train, and he was reading? She didn’t know he liked that. From the corner of her eye she noticed a girl with long black hair, who seemed quite familiar. Isadora. They met in the owlery, but the girl was leaving, so Anna decided not to run after her. She recognized a few more faces from various events and gatherings.

She turned back to Pandora but the girl excused herself and went over to another girl. Anna waved as a goodbye. She walked over to the snacks table and picked up a cupcake. While she was enjoying it, she contemplated on what to do. The book in her robe pocket was calling to her, she knew she’d end up reading it by the end of the day, but the sooner she started the better. Once again glancing over at Ethan she thought about joining him, but she also knew she wouldn’t be able to read with all the people coming in and out. So finishing the cupcake she wiped her mouth with a napkin and headed towards the doors.

She stopped by the librarian on her way out. “Thank you so much for organizing this event. It means a lot to me and so many others as well”. Anna gave him a wide smile, as she waved goodbye. She sped up her walking, deciding on which place to pick to read her new book.

The Library was Duvessa Ember's refugee. She would always retire there in her early weeks for a good night read, (let's say that no one guessed that she often slipped there after curfew for a new book) and Duvessa always enjoyed the quietness, peace and relaxing atmosphere. Especially after having a chaotic day with her fellow snakes, each more fiery than the other.

She heard that there was an activity there taking place, on the 2nd of March, in the Hall itself. She giggled as she thought of the character she was wearing; she decided to go very muggle, going as Daisy Wells from a gripping story (that she had enough time to read when she was younger) that was called Murder Most Unladylike. She wondered if anyone who she knew read it - for it was an excellent read.

So, armed, with a book donation (Arsenic For Tea By Robin Stevens), she walked into the Hall. She had selected a wintery, stylish outfit topped with a schoolgirl hat, as Daisy Wells had been daughter of a Lord and had the most softest, comfortable and usually best clothes compared to Hazel Wong. Duvessa walked calmly to the Donation table, smiling as she though fondly of her favorite muggle series. Placing the book on the table. She glanced at the other titles, searching for a new book to become on her top favorites.

She looked temptingly at the snacks that were laid out, but was more excited to draw a mystery book. Heavens knows, it could be something so gripping that she would not the able to put it down for a week! She walked to it cheerfully, and her slender, pale arm dove to retrieve one. She finally fingered one, that seemed to be very thick. She had fished out a book called Nothing More to Tell By Karen M. McManus.

The title didn't ring any bells, so she shrugged and decided to give it a go. What was already told? The title seemed to be curious enough. However, she began heading to the doorway. It really had been a while, and her friends were probably wondering where she was! She smoothed her stylish jacket and slung her school bag over her shoulder. She simply had to read this book. Curiousity had killed the cat - and made Duvessa excited for bedtime to read it.

She looked around once more, glad that there were other students milling about (she guessed that they must be book lovers too) and excitedly thought if there were any familiar faces. However, before she left, she simply had to do one last thing. She casually strolled to the Librarian, her feet making a soft click, click, click (she had selected them especially and polished them too - surely Daisy must have always looked presentable.
"Er, Sir?" She began tentively, "I just want to say thank you, for making this event part of the Wizarding World. I am a huge fan of books - I would love to help out with any library related things if needed." She offered politely. The Librarian was one of the only people who she spoke kindly to, the rest had to be content with intimidating looks, coldness and an occasional scowl or glare.

So, with a final nod and a tight smile, she briskly set back to walking to the doorway. She had promised to meet a couple of friends. So, smiling fondly to herself and casting a look of sadness at the books. I'll see you again soon.... she thought to herself and once again returned to the character everyone saw her as. Intimidating, cold, secretive and a tad argumentive.

Colin will take Beast Quest: Ferno the Fire Dragon and Hunger Games
"WOOOOOOT!!!" Colin hooted as he threw his satchel over his shoulder and ran from his last class of the day! THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! It's not that Colin didn't like classes, but today was Books Books Books! Anything involving books and reading, Colin was sure to be there! And so it was that anyone who got in the young wizard's way, be they still lost firsties or potion addled seventh years, would find themselves in the path of a twelve year old juggernaut in a kilt and wearing his tie around his left knee.

Well, there was no rule that said a tie had to be worn around the neck, right?

Professor Sáez had placed posters in the common room inviting everyone to a book exchange, so naturally Colin was all in! He had a couple books with him for the student book exchange and was eager to see what other students contributed. He came charging down the stairs and into the small hall that led to all the excitement! He reckoned the place would be crawling with Ravenclaws, but then, he thought, maybe not. Wouldn't they have all these books already up in their high common room?

Colin shrugged, then laughed. Didn't matter, just crack open a book and you'll have a birb looking over your shoulder in no time! And with that thought, Colin burst into the hall and stopped in front of the tables. Cool. Student book exchange was for him! He dashed over to that table first, leapt up onto the wooden bench for the last few strides to where neat arrangement of books was to be seen. He rummaged around in his satchel until he found the books he was going to donate --- The Hobbit and The Witch of Blackbird Pond.

Colin was pretty sure Professor Tolkien was actually a wizard, but the other book was all about muggle witches and how confusing it was in early America when there were real witches, and muggles who thought other muggles were witches and people not understanding what magic even is, and all of that with the story taking place before the Statute of Secrecy!

He crouched down on the bench and placed his two contributions on the table and checked out all the other books that were available to take. "Hmm, he said to himself; "the agony of choice, eh lad!? What should we take, if we can only take one, eh?" He'd already read Alice in Wonderland, and that was a brilliant story! He looked at the back of the Hunger Games. Colin's eyes widened in horror! "WHOA. This is totally mental! Do muggles do this? Sending kids out to survive a game where they can die --- without magic!?" Colin realised something. He blinked. "Gosh. It sounds like the Hexiwizard Tourney, but blimey!"

Then he caught sight of a book with a red dragon on the cover. "NO WAY!!! A MUGGLE BOOK ABOUT DRAGONS!!" It had to be! He leaned over the table and snagged Ferno the Fire Dragon as well! He checked the back of that book too. He liked how muggles put a synopsis of the book on the back, even though he was certain he didn't hold with cheap paper covers. He'd have to bake proper hard covers for these books some time.

Book craving satisfied, Colin checked out the snack table. He got a wee sack out of his satchel and tipped some cheese and sausages into it, along with an apple. Colin never ceased to be amazed how the school Elves always seemed to churn out snacks that everyone liked! After that, he decided to find someone to sit with. He'd been wanting to find Kim for the longest time. For one thing, he hadn't really had a chance to be with his friend since the beginning of the year! He felt really bad about that. Every time he saw Kim, the lad always seemed down, especially since their friend Sophia disappeared. Colin had even taken to making a list of all the kids that had disappeared since last year. The number was depressing.

But also! His seanmamó had sent him a neatly wrapped treat that he was to give to Kim personally. Colin knew exactly what it was. The rich and delicious odor of Cadburys choco had filled his satchel since after Christmas. What a better treat to give the Prince of Sweets than a huge bar of muggle choco right!?

"Oi! AOOOKI!!" Colin cried out once he caught sight of the lad. His nose was running. Again. Must be a cat nearby. He'd already seen Piérre, which meant that a certain feline wouldn't be too far distant! Poor Kim! At least he had a kerchief with him. It was really too bad that wizard healers could fix broken bones, but not oversensitive noses! Colin made his way over and flopped down near Kim. "Ayo Bails!" he said to Bailey and gave her a smirk and a wink; he bowed quickly to the others nearby. He smiled brightly at his friends, wondering when either Kim or Bailey were going to pop the question so they could start going out proper!

"Kimmo! Got something for you, lad!" He rummaged around in his satchel, took out the thick block of nicely wrapped goodness and handed it over. "For the Prince of Sweets from me seanmamó! She's quite fond of you, you know! Even I didn't rate one of these!"

Damion was slowly getting over the break up with Kim. Well it was a little difficult as he had thought that they were a couple and Kim had confused it to thinking that they were just friends who were hanging out. Anyways, he was sort of glad that that was over. Well not really happy about it. But well it was something that happened a while ago and Damion was trying his best to overcome this tragedy. But it was going to be harder than he had thought. Since he and Kim shared a lot of clubs together. Something that Damion had done to get closer to the Younger Gryffindor.

Things seemed to have taken a turn for the worse for this younger Ravenclaw. He had had his first kiss; however the person he had his first kiss from was not the person he was currently dating. Not that he was ever thinking that he would settle down with someone he shared a first kiss with. Anyways, it was now going to be a tad bit harder for him to be in clubs that Kim was a part of. A part of him wanted to quit those clubs but there was another part of him that didn't want to let the fact that he had something, not sure whether to call it a relationship or fling or whatever, with Kim.

Damion was trying to be civil with Kim. Well he had avoided the younger Gryffindor boy for a while, but now he thought he was ready to face him again. After all, Kim was still one his good friends. Damion was dressed as Willy Wonks from Charlie and the Chocolate factory. He sort of liked that book. He had read it at least a dozen time.

He walked inside the Great Hall. The first person that he noticed was Hades. Yes Hades. Since Hades was his current boyfriend. He loved how caring and affectionate Hades was. "Hey Hades!" He said with a smile. He was really happy that Hades was there. He was not going to ignore any of his friends that he would see there.

He noticed Bailey Glade and waved to her. Next her noticed Kim. Oof! This was going to be a little awkward and a little bumpy for him. He smiled to Kim. Kim, despite being his ex, was still his friend. "You're not a cat person Kim?" Damion asked with a surprise. He was shocked to know that Kim didn't like cats. Maybe it hadn't come up while he was "dating" the younger Gryffindor boy. To be honest that was really weird. Since Damion himself had a cat named Jasper.

Damion walked closer to Hades and smiled. Damion looked at him again. Damion was not trying to rub his relationship in anyone's face. Especially not Kim's. He would never want to hurt Kim even though he had been hurt by Kim. Damion looked at the Charlie and Chocolate Factory Book that he had gotten for donating or reading whatever he wanted to do. He also had the book "Call Me By Your Name". That was another book that Damion really loved. He loved love stories.

"Have either of you read Call Me By Your Name?" He asked turning his head towards Kim and then looking at Hades. "I can say it is a lovely book." He said. He looked at them and smiled. Though he was not wanting to make Kim, Bailey or Hades feel awkward. Since Bailey and Kim were his best friends, despite being shipped like crazy; and Hades was his boyfriend. Damion looked at them and said "Have either of you seen the movie Charlie and Chocolate Factory or Call Me By Your Name?" He asked excitedly to Bailey, Kim and Hades.

Rose looked down at Chaska, who had sat at Rose's feet and started to groom her ears. Rose was trying to make up her mind to leave when somebody approached her.

The person who approached her- Rose couldn't decipher their gender right away. They looked younger than Rose by at least a couple of years, mostly because they were shorter than Rose was. They had dark, curly hair, but stunning green eyes. "Oh- hello," she said, in response. She hadn't really expected to be approached, but this was a pleasant surprise. Rose was asked who she was dressed up as.

She smiled, a little bashfully. It would be pretty hard to decipher who she was dressed up as, since it seemed like something that somebody would wear, just anywhere. "Ah- well, it is a pretty simple outfit, isn't it? I'm dressed up as Scarlet from the Lunar Chronicles. It's a science fiction book set in the future. But not like thousands of years or something. But Scarlet has red hair and wears jeans and a red hoodie throughout most of the series, and I didn't really have time to put anything else together." She laughed a little bit. Rose's voice carried a slight American accent. It had been really strong in her first year, since she had spent so much time around her American mother, but over the years, spending so much time here at Hogwarts, it was fading rapidly. She shook her head. "There are lots of characters I like, so it was really hard to pick a favorite. But I do really like Scarlet. Can I ask who you're dressed up as?"

Rose felt a little bit like she was talking too much, but it wasn't like she just came up to them and started ranting. She had been asked the question. She might as well give a full and slightly elaborate answer. Rose smiled, letting them finish their own answer before she spoke again. "I'm Rose, by the way. And this is Chaska," she said, gesturing down to the cat at her feet, who looked up at the newcomer with her big silver eyes. "What's your name?" she asked them. "And- can I ask your pronouns?"

World Book Day. They had celebrated this at her Muggle School in Dunbar and she had always enjoyed it. As she had read all about how it was going to be conducted, her mind had already started thinking about the books she had up in her trunk. She did not mind donating books... especially her favorite ones. None of the volumes in her trunk were given to her for any special occasion, so maybe that made it easier to donate them. The books themselves were not as important to her, possibly because the stories themselves now lived so vividly within her.

AngelFyre did not have a photographic memory, but it was incredibly close. After reading anything that particularly moved her in any way, for good or bad, she had an uncanny ability to be able to close her eyes and see the words and their placement on the page, and this always brought back what she was feeling at having read them and what she was thinking about while reading them. It was such an immersive state of being. There was just nothing like it. As much as she loved movies, nothing could compare.... or could rarely compare... to her own imagination when reading good writing. Two movies she found to be an exception to "her own imagination rule": To Kill A Mockingbird as well as Out of Africa. Wait! Just thought of a third - Sense and Sensibilities, the Emma Thompson version. She had read all three of those books before seeing the movies and was astounded how the pictures in her head were so beautifully unleashed onto the screen.

As she thought about which book, or books, to donate, she also turned a thought to the dress up portion of the activity. After her bible, her all time favorite book was To Kill A Mockingbird. Atticus Finch was so like her father and AngelFyre could relate to Scout and her relationship with her father. She never had a brother, but she had had Kendric, and her heart caught momentarily in her throat at the thought of Kendric. He was as close to her as a brother could have been. She winced as she felt her throat constrict in an effort to stave off any tears.

But that is not the book she would be donating, primarily because she had no overalls and would not know how to dress like Scout given what she had available to her right then. What she did have was a little dress that could pass for something from the 1920's and that is when it hit her. She would take a copy of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby , though she would not necessarily be dressing as Daisy Buchanan, whom she found to be a shallow, weak woman and completely unworthy of Gatsby. Instead, it would be a nod to the Jazz Age and maybe more of a nod to Zelda, the author's real life wife. She was who the character was loosely based upon anyway.

As she was dressing, it crossed her mind that Zelda Fitzgerald's maiden name had been Sayre. That in turn made her wonder if her family was in any way descended from the founders of Ilvermorny? She should look into that. Fitzgerald was one of Simon's favorite authors and to find out that there may be some magic connection there, even if he might have only married into it, may interest her fellow.

Now dressed, she headed down to the Great Hall. She walked in and smiled at the Librarian, Mateo Sáez, and set her book down on the table. "I brought The Great Gatsby. I hope no one else did, though it would not surprise me if they had," and she grinned at him. She then turned her attention to the other books on the exchange table. There were some nice choices but she had read most of them. One title stood out to her, Arsenic for Tea, and she knew based on the name alone she would be taking that one with her.

Then another area with wrapped books caught her attention and she walked over to look at those. She chose a book from the Friendship section and unwraped it to find it was The Book Thief. Excellent! That had been on her reading list for a bit, so looks like she would be getting to it earlier rather than later and smiled deeply. She looked up at the Librarian one more time, raised her hand holding the new book and thanked him for putting the event together before turning to look over the room and the other costumes.

She was pleased to see a number of folks had dressed up, but exactly which characters they had dressed up as was less obvious to her. She immediately saw Captain Ahab and Pipi Longstocking. The red pigtails sticking straight out was a glorious touch. That was being accomplished with magic or a whole lot of hair lacquer. She also spied a table with some friends: Colin, Bailey, and Kim. Kim was dressed up as was Bailey. She was pretty certain, given the title of the books she had seen on the donation table, Bailey was dressed like Jo March. She did not recognize Kim's costume at all. And Colin.... well her woofy was dressed in his fabulous kilt attire.

She hesitated for a moment, dithering as to whether her presence over there would send Kim over the edge. Maybe, but hopefully not. She would not sit, so he would know she was not to add to the crowd around him. She would go over, say a quick hello, and see what everyone had donated and taken in exchange to read. Then she would scramble back up to her dorm and crack open her new world to discover.

Approaching their table, she greeted everyone with a cheerful lilt in her voice. "Hello, fellow bookworms. Find anything fabulous to take with you from the donation table? I am taking a book called Arsenic for Tea. I know nothing about it but it sounds like a murder mystery does it not?"

As Sara has decided, she's going to get out of her comfort zone this year. And meet new people or friends, whatever. Yikes... So another event popped up: "Books, books, books", the celebration of the World Book Day. She remembered they used to do that too in her muggle school. It was a great opportunity, really: meeting new people (which she didn't like so much, to be honest) through books, which she adored.

She needed to find a book to donate... Sara was usually the person who is very attached to her things and did not like giving them away so easily. So she had to find a book she just moderately liked and it was in an okay condition to be donated. After some digging through her trunk and throwing all kinds of things and books on her bed and all over the dormitory, she found a book she quite enjoyed. It was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. She knew it almost by heart considering how many times she has read it. She even watched two movies that were the adaptation of the book (she liked the newer version more, to be honest). Maybe there will be children who also like this book, and maybe even the muggle ones that have seen the movies. Yes, a conversation starter! Sara thought to herself.

"Great, now I have a book, so what about the outfit? Of course, it's optional, but it would be kinda fun to dress as one of the characters, right? Huh, Cinnamon, what do you say?" Sara asked her cat, who was sitting comfortably on her bed and was half-asleep. Cinnamon just meowed, not too enthusiastically. "Well, it would be kinda odd if I went down dressed all blue and coloured my face blue, right Cinn?" the cat was probably asleep already, but Sara needed a companion right now. "Maybe as an Oompa-Loompa!¨That would be like SOOOO funny!" she laughed loudly, actually to herself. "Hmm, maybe Veruca Salt. Although I don't resemble her manner and the way she behaves, I do look a bit like her." she said. "And I'm not very keen on her, but I like the way she dressed. And I have a similar coat in my trunk. Oh, and also it would be fun for me to go dressed as her because she was demanding and all that spoiled brat stuff, and I'm just, kind of the opposite of that. Yes, it may be funny." Sara laughed a bit and decided she will stop talking to herself out loud because there could be other girls around here listening to her. She would be really embarrassed if that happened. And the nonsense she was saying...

So she dressed and he thought her outfit was quite cool, actually. And cute. She recently received the huge red lollipop from her parents so she used it to complete the Veruca Salt look. She took her book and went to the common room. She glanced around and saw a girl there. This black-haired girl had a rather peculiar pink dress and was wearing black lace gloves. She took the glove from one of her hands and did something weird with her hand and said "Show your true face you Shadow. I've got my eye on you" Sara looked at her with a confused look on her face and soon the girl left. Sara waited a bit and then she left too.

Sara arrived in the Great Hall and she stopped at a table to study the books other students already left for exchange. After she spent a few minutes looking at the books, Sara decided to get some snacks. She got some chips and it was very tasteful. While she was eating, she noticed the girl from the common room was eating near her. She may go and talk to her. Even though she's a bit anxious about it... After all, she came here to make friends, not to be anxious and chicken out... There we go...

"Hey, you're the girl from the common room, right?" she asked her and smiled "Hi! I'm Sara Arnez. Or maybe we met before... Can you maybe guess which character am I?" Sara asked showing the girl her book.

Talking to Rose Moon Hey there!
Interacting with:
@Rose Moon
Mahlioz wasn't sure what exactly she'd been expecting, but the older girl was really kind. She said hi back and smiled, before answering the first year's question. Mahlioz listened earnestly, a little awed at being in this fourth year's (she guessed - it could have been fifth or third, she wasn't great with ages) presence. The redhead had an accent, though Mahlioz did not know where it came from, and her laugh seemed to light up the room. The Slytherin just felt happy around her for some reason. Older people impressed her easily.

"I should probably read that series, it sounds cool, and I do like science fiction from time to time," Mahlioz replied with a shy smile as the older girl finished answering her question. "And Scarlet looks pretty awesome too, from what I can tell from your costume. It may have been quick, but it does look really nice." When the redhead said it was hard to pick a specific character, Mahlioz's eyes lit up. "Thank goodness I'm not the only one! It took me forever to choose just one character! I wanted to wear like five different costumes at the same time, there were too many characters to pick from..." She grinned, then glanced down at her attire.
"Oh, me? This is supposed to be Ford Prefect, from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - another sci-fi series. It's not my favorite, but it is up there, and I kind of looked like him already." Mahlioz smiled slightly as she realized both her and the fourth year had chosen the same reason for their costumes.

She was honestly surprised she was talking so much. She'd been excited for this errand for the sole reason that it involved reading, not interacting with people. And it's been a while since she'd spoken so easily, without any stuttering. But she guessed that was what happened when one spoke about the thing they loved best.
The older girl introduced herself as Rose, and her cat as Chaska. Mahlioz hadn't realized she had a cat, but now that she had, she was astonished that she hadn't earlier. "Ohmygodsheissocuuuuute," she said in one breath, her eyes widening at the pure adorableness of the animal, before she blushed at her sudden outburst. "Sorry. She is magnificent though! Can I pet her?" She waited for Rose to answer before introducing herself as well. "Oh, I'm Mahlioz. My pronouns are she/they," she said with a smile. "What about you? Oh, and did I get Chaska's right?"
