Sitting down at the highest bench Ying was greeted back by the three other students that were there enjoying their time watching Slytherin and Ravenclaw's duel. The blue eyed boy at her side, he seemed to act a little uncomfortable and Ying got strike by the thought that maybe the boy didn't liked to be addressed by strangers, Ying made a mental note about that and so she kept her eyes on the duel, Slytherin was not having the luck on their side apparently. Her attention was diverted again when a familiar voice came towards her, she looked to its direction and found that Kim was also there watching the duel, "Hey Kim!" She said with a sweet smile and a small wave of her hand. It felt good to see someone that she already knew and Ying sympathized with the blue-haired boy since first day.
The cheerful and daring girl that had been defying the Slytherin boy at her side for a duel decided to introduce herself to the Gryffindor girl who was wearing her Slytherin scarf, and that small detail didn't passed unnoticed to the insightful blond girl, Ying thought that it must be one of the reasons she was a Ravenclaw. "I don't strike you as a snake?" Ying asked with a cheeky smile, "I don't see how is that possible!" she said in a daring tone of voice.
Ying was looking at Beatrice to hear what the girl was about to reply when a sound of someone getting hit by a spell made her quickly turn her gaze towards the duel, she felt quite a relief when she saw it has been Guinevere again and not her Slytherin partner, Ying let out the breath she had hold when concern took all over her features. She felt quite bad after feeling so relieved...the dark-haired girl didn't looked alright after that last Knockback Jinx.
“Do I know you?” The pale Slytherin boy that was sit next to Beatrice asked with a challenging smirk. Ying knew that he had already guessed that she wasn't a member of his house. She pondered if she should tell the truth or just keep the teasing back and forth, that last idea played on her mind before she decided what to reply to him and to the curious raven at his side, "You probably don't, or else you wouldn't have forgotten me so easily!" She said matching his smirk with her playful one, "Fang Hui-Ying, nice to meet you!" She introduced herself to him and winked at Beatrice before returning to watch the duel again. She looked in time to see Ming trying to hit his opponent with a laughing spell, and again he had missed. "Uff...common on..." She muttered a little frustrated with her brother's lack of luck.

DAY 1
Afternoon Slot - 12:30 - 13:30, Match 7
Blue in English, Red in KoreanIn the beginning, Lucia was doing great. Eun-ji knew she should have been more unhappy when the petrificus totalus hit its target but she couldn't help feeling proud of her ex-friend. If it wasn't Sam on the receiving end, she might have not cared at all. Alas it was Sam and despite claiming otherwise, she still had a soft spot for her Captain. Not that she'd ever admit that aloud after pushing her away so harshly. What an ugly twist of fate that the two girls she hurt the most would be facing each other today.
The following rounds weren’t good for her team. Eun-ji felt bad that they were not the main reason she was here today but to be fair, she was genuinely concerned. It was just that her main focus remained elsewhere. Sam had suffered a lot…luck was definitely not on her side today but Lucia did great and nobody was able to hit her for three rounds. She did hit her teammate at one point but the witch didn't feel too sorry about that. As long as her friend wasn't hurt...and it was good for the Ravenclaw team too. Just because she was here to watch the part-veela didn't mean she wanted the Badgers to win. She'd be sad to see Lucia disappointed but she was loyal to her teammates and wanted to see them succeed. If she was facing any other team, Eun-ji wouldn’t have to feel so thorn. Then again, if that was the case, she would lose her reason to be here. It was not like she had any duelling friends from other houses besides Kim and his duel was tomorrow. It seemed she had indeed succeeded in pushing most of her close friends away. Kim and Flash were the only ones left...
Shaking her head Eun-ji quickly refocused her attention on the events at the piste. It was a wild duel to say the least. Not her preferred style but it was certainly very interesting to watch. Unfortunately for her friend, the tide turned by the fourth round. Now it was Lindsey that was suffering the most and eventually, she had been knocked out by Sam. No good. This meant Lucia was on her own. An extremely tough situation to be in during a duel. Eun-ji sighed in relief when Sam's fire ball missed the target. Briefly, Lucia’s gaze shifted to the spectators and their eyes met. The Ravenclaw quickly pretended to focus on her own teammates and the other girl made sure to turn away just as fast. It was an awkward moment for sure. Maybe I should just leave. No. That would be even more suspicious than her being there in the first place. It was fine, the duel was nearing its end…she could handle it.

| ─── | Beatrice spoke, introducing herself to him.
Kim nodded. "Kim." He gave his own name and then shook his head. Right. He was the only one who called Gem, Precious. When you called someone by a nickname for a long period of time, it was hard to get out of the habit of that and to call them something different. "Ah, Precious is Gem. Gemima Sable." Kim explained and glanced over at Ying again as she greeted him and he nodded to her in response. Even though Avery hadn't really said anything to him, Kim didn't take offense. After all, he wasn't that social and would have preferred not to talk at all to anyone, if that was at all possible. The only reason he'd interjected anything in the first place was because of Precious's name being mentioned. As long as Avery didn't become extremely disrespectful, Kim wouldn't have any problem with him. But the boy didn't strike him as the type to do something like that to him or anyone else. As Ying went on to talk with the others, Kim was content to simply observe. He didn't care if no one spoke to him and was comfortable just being able to listen. It was around this time that the other boy, who said his name was Ashley, spoke up. It seemed he had something to say to them all. The boy announced to those gathered together, that he needed to leave and said his goodbyes to everyone. Kim inclined his head towards him. "Zàijiàn!" He said, using the Mandarin word for goodbye and raised his hand into the air briefly. The blue haired teen looked back over at the piste to make sure he wasn't missing any crucial moments during any of the three matches he was watching over. Precious's team was currently winning and they were in the 7th round, which wasn't too bad. The girl's Knockback Jinx had even hit her target in the latest round! As for Gia's match... well, Kim wasn't surprised about the current results.... Regina was doing well on her own. Pierre wasn't doing too good right now, as he was on fire. But he could always heal himself, or Gia could do so. However, then again, if they just focused their energy on attacking the lone opponent against them now... they might be able to win the match faster. It would be interesting to see what would happen. If Regina looked over at the spectator area, Kim would incline his head towards her and raise his hand to make a fist with it. This was to symbolize she should continue to fight and win the duel! Unfortunately, Galton's match... It didn't seem as if luck was with them this time around in their current duel, which was a shame. After all, their opponents didn't seem as if they'd taken any damage and were seemingly unbothered by the Lions. On the other hand, Galton's partner looked pretty dead and the boy himself had taken a few hits and wasn't looking as fresh as he'd had at the start of the duel. As it was around round 6 and there were only 4 rounds left, it didn't seem as if there would be any chance for the Lions to win this particular match. But then again, the tides could always turn in their favor later. Nothing was really 100% impossible to achieve.... Not until the last round made its appearance. |

Bea watched as Ashley left, most likely due to the amount of people now watching the duels. It was usually chaotic, but not this chaotic! Bea felt sympathy well up for the younger boy, as she watched him disappear out into the wonders of the Castle.
She took a moment to glance at the door before returning her attention to Avery. The boy was quite proud of himself and his skills, and it kind of irked Bea a little. He was nothing like other Slytherin's Bea was acquainted with, but Bea also knew there was varied attitudes and upbringings within each house, and so it didn't really come as a surprise to her that he acted this way. She smiled slightly, perhaps the edges turning into a smirk before shaking her head. "Unfortunately Mr Leveret, I can't. I'm participating in a broom race match that day. But the Sunday, the 5th would work. Is that suitable?" With a twinkle in her eye she turned towards the other two individuals left seated near her.
The girl, decked in Slytherin, was bouncy and cheeky, and Bea already loved her. She laughed at the other girls antics before shaking her head, a true smile adorning her face. "Somehow no, you don't. How did you get all the green adornments?" She lifted her hand towards the scarf around the girls neck. Even though Bea was friends with a few Slytherins, none let her borrow their cloths. Truthfully, Bea much preferred her own house colours to any other. Her eyes widened in shock as the girl introduced herself, and a chuckle left her lips. Well, that answered her question! She hadn't known Hui-Ming had a sister, but it made sense now that she looked at Hui-Ying more closely. She had quite a resemblance to her older brother. Turning back to the duel at the thought of Hui-Ming, she grimaced for him as her own house basically slaughtered him and his opponent until only her was left standing. Slytherin had managed to get a few hits in, but still. At this point, it was Hui-Ming against what seemed like the world, she thought. 1vs2 was a hard way to battle.
She nodded at Kim's introduction and words, momentarily distracted by the spells being flung up on the stage she was watching. When there was a slight lapse, she turned to him fully. "It's nice to meet you Kim." She smiled, glancing at Gemima as Kim explained the nickname. "Ahh! I didn't realise. I thought it must be some brand new person I'd never met!" She chuckled to herself, letting Kim watch the rest of the duels he seemed so focused on. Much more than her.
Bea bit her lip. It wasn't long to go now. The end was nigh.

┏ ┓-----T he flux of the duel had fallen in favour of the birds.
The pale boy shook his head watching as Guinevere got hit by another pairing of, he hated to admit, awesome-looking knockback jinxes. It caused the boy’s smile to mar and give way to a heavy, weighted incarnation of its past self, if only in support of the Slytherin that remained standing. There was no point in shouting out some support, not now; especially with the glowering Ravenclaw boy still around.
He turned his deep black pools to Hui-Ying, practically snapping them at her as she introduced herself: "You probably don't, or else you wouldn't have forgotten me so easily!" She said with a broad smirk, adding: "Fang Hui-Ying, nice to meet you!" That was alarming, and yet a part of him appreciated that she’d been caught and opted for the best move; a trick in her pocket that she’d used appropriately. Fair play. - I share a dorm with your brother.“ He nodded forward at Fang Hui-Ming, sending her a smirk that threatened to undo her well-woven web.
He didn’t press that advantage in their strange game of chess, but he made a mental note of her; she was receptive to the game, and she didn’t shy from playing it.
He turned his attention back to the duel, watching as Ming stood his ground, before he elected to respond to Beatrice. It wasn’t done spitefully, or with bad intent, he was just the laid back sort in this interaction; leaning back with his arms crossed over his chest. Perhaps he seemed a keen observer.
“Bes–” He paused as the Ravenclaw boy left unexpectedly, nodding him on before he continued his thought: “Best of luck for your broom race then. - Sunday 5th suits me.” He smiled then, with a set of pearly whites that could distract from the devilry in his eyes. They were agreed; another duel was to take place and this time he’d put a little more effort into preparing for it, especially since the events of his last duel. He didn’t feel like he had to challenge Beatrice in other ways, comfortable in their slightly distanced dynamic. Avery had made a number of rivals and challengers, but this felt like it served him, a positive exchange; perhaps he could learn from her.
She at least seemed better with people than he was, as she introduced herself to Kim. If he were to catch Kim’s eye, he’d offer a silent nod in greeting and wouldn’t bother with the full pleasantries as he; like Bea; sensed the culmination of the duel he had an interest in.

It wasn't a lucky day for the Slytherin pair against the Ravenclaws. Failure after failure and jinx after jinx, it felt like the game was already over and fate had chosen its favorite. How Guinevere was still capable to stand was impressive in Ying's opinion. She had her eyes glued to the action at the duel field, her attention was solely diverted when the boy next to her decided to leave, getting up from his seat. Ying instinctively leaned back in her seat to leave enough room for him to move, giving him a soft smile and then turned her attention towards the others watching the duel.
To be honest, it hadn't bother her that she had been caught with her "disguise". Apparently something about her didn't spoke Slytherin enough. The idea actually amused her, since she didn't had another real intention but to show support for her brother, although she could admit that the idea of arousing suspicion added some fun to it. But for her, family was far more meaningful and important then a school house.
"Glad to meet my brother's room mate." She spoke assertively but she felt a little surprised to meet someone that could be close to her brother. Her eyes watched the boy's facial expression for a few moments trying to decipher his intentions behind his smirk and astute dark stare. Something about him made her feel uneasy, but she couldn't put her finger on what. At least not for now. "May I know his name?" She answered to the boy now sat next to her, lifting slightly her eyebrow inquiring with an amused expression. "And yours?" She asked tilting her head in a much more cheerful way towards the blond girl that had caught that green wasn't her color. That thought made her look at Kim, her housemate was now paying attention towards one of the other matches taking place at the dueling room. In another stages Gryffindor was having its own challenges. Ying grimaced as she saw Meenauh being knocked out by her adversary, "What with this Ravens?" She said as she was letting out a curse, "At least we are winning one match..." She commented looking at Kim with a soft smile, "Even if slightly on fire!" She concluded with a small chuckle now turning her gaze at Pi that seemed like being having fun with the whole situation.
"Dueling sounds fun doesn't it?" She asked towards no one in particular. But her attention got caught towards the match unfolding in front of her when another pair of "Flipendos" aimed to the Slytherin girl had flawlessly found its target again letting the long dark haired girl unconscious. She immediately received assistance, who removed her from the enclosure. Ying's eyes however were glued to her brother. Her amused expression had faded from her features giving place to a much stern one. She zoned out from her surroundings, their voices becoming a background sound again when her focus was only on the boy who was now facing the two Ravenclaw girls alone. Ying's stare became darker as she saw her brother being hit with two new Knockback Jinxes. She clenched her fists tightly on her lap, being that and her fiery look the only hints of her increasing thunderous feelings. She made the best of her to keep expressionless, she trusted Ming and he still had a chance to turn the results at his favor. A very thin one...but still, she was proud of how he stood fighting for his ground.

It was no surprise she didn't know who he was referring to when he spoke of Precious. To his knowledge, Kim was the only one who called her by that name. Most of her friends called her Gem. Beatrice seemed content to let him watch the duels he was there for and Kim was grateful she wasn't the sort of person who wanted to talk all the time. As a result, she made a good impression on him. Avery caught his eye as he returned to watching the duels and he inclined his head towards him. But refrained from speaking for now. Avery was a boy who shared the same name as a fellow Slytherin Kim knew and was friends with..... He wondered if the two Averys knew eachother, or had at least run into eachother before. It would have been an interesting encounter, asking for the other student's name only to discover they both had the same one. Ying's comment about dueling made Kim glance over at her and a faint smirk came to his lips. "It is. You should give it a try sometime." He told her. "If you need a partner to practice with, I could always help you out from time to time." Kim offered, letting his blue eyes linger on her for a moment... Was this just a passing fancy or a whim? Or could she really be interested in pursuing a career in dueling like he was? He would need to find out. |

As the duel came to an end, Bea smiled, a vibrant laugh leaving her body as Ravenclaw was proclaimed the winner. She punched the air, a smirk gracing her lips as she turned to Hui-Ying and Avery. Kim seemed to be focusing on the other matches as well, and so she left him to watch those.
"It seems Ravenclaw was the best today! As I thought." She laughed again, deliriously happy at the turn of events. She supposed she should go see if Hui-Ming was alright. She wanted to see if Addie ad Gemima were alright. They'd put on a nice show today, and Bea was grateful she'd finally come to watch a match. What were the odds, the first match she'd come to and Ravenclaw had won? Perhaps her luck would carry over to next weekend. She'd need it, what with the broom race and now this duel.
A lick of worry went down her spine at the thought of the broom race. She hadn't practiced flying outside of classes, and the sporty class was probably her most detested one out of Hogwarts whole curriculum. She'd asked her Nan for a broom over the Winter break, and Nan had graced her holiday mail with a Silver Arrow. It was shiny and new, and even though she didn't fly regularly, she made sure to keep good care of it in her dormitory.
Grinning at Avery, she nodded her head graciously at his comment. Even though the thought of flying in a foolish race was a heart-racing thought, it couldn't dull her happiness for winning. "Thank you! I suppose commiserations are in order for you and your house. What a loss. Better luck for our duel."
Hui-Ying, although she wasn't in the same house, was supporting the emerald green house today and Bea offered her condolences to her as well. "I hope Hui-Ying is alright. Better luck to him next time. He'll need the support." With a twinkle in her eye, she turned to the now finished duellers. Her voice carried as she shouted at them, "Go Addie and Gem! Congrats!! Better luck next time Snakes!" With her praise done, she gathered her things, nodded to the others, and turned to leave, her final words aimed at Avery, "See you next Sunday Leveret. Here's hoping your aspirations turn out to be more than just wishful thinking."

| ─── | Kim was now paying all his attention to the matches.
Mostly because they were almost over. He was furiously sketching to finish his last one before it ended. Precious's match had come to an end with Ravenclaw taking the win and Kim couldn't help but feel happy for her. She'd also managed to make it through the entire duel without getting hit once, which was rather impressive for someone who had only recently started dueling. On the other hand, Dōkeshi (Pierre Marchonne) seemed to be provoking Gia, despite knowing how volatile it could get for him. Meanwhile, their opponents kept going after him, leaving Gia alone. As a result, Gia remained untouched for a very long time. All the way up to Round 6, when a storm cloud cast by Jake Morris managed to hit her. Kim's childhood friend had utterly destroyed her opponents and not gotten hit by one spell for the entire match. Similar to Precious. The only thing Regina had to suffer through had been her partner's insufferable provoking! As for the last match, it wasn't going too well for Kim's idol, Galton. The Ravenclaws remained untouched until Round 8. Kim couldn't help but wonder why Meenauh hadn't chosen to heal herself at all during the match? Or for that matter why Galton hadn't tried to do so either? Did they have a reason behind this? Perhaps they wanted to try to just go on the offensive? The first time a Ravenclaw got hit, (Dealla Prince) even though it was only a small amount, had been this round (8). But it wouldn't happen again. Eventually, Meenauh got knocked out and Galton was left on his own against two very skilled Ravenclaws. Or perhaps they were just lucky? The duel ended with Gryffindor's loss and Ravenclaw's win. But it was fairly obvious they would lose after they lost Meenauh. True, there was always the chance they could come back but it was very unlikely. A sigh escaped Kim's lips at the sight now... But Galton would still be his idol, despite his loss. Not everyone could win all the time. It was the passion and determination behind the duelists that made someone special and legendary. Not the outcome. Yes, the outcome was definitely important of course, but it wasn't everything. Kim had finally finished his sketches of the fierce battles out there. Now he just had to do a copy of each of them and then deliver them to each of the participants he'd come to watch! Flipping his sketchbook closed, Kim placed the item back into his satchel.... Puffie nuzzled his neck. Kim almost jumped, having completely forgotten that his beloved pet had been sitting on his shoulder. The pink puffball gave him an incredulous look and huffed, turning from him to sulk on top of his shoulder. "Ahhh, I didn't forget about you, Puffie!!! I really didn't!!!" Kim exclaimed, trying to soothe his ruffled pet and glanced over at Beatrice when she spoke. "Zàijiàn!" He said in Mandarin again, raising his hand into the air to wave goodbye to Beatrice. Kim wasn't sure if the other two would still be lingering or not but he needed to take care of Puffie's ruffled feelings before he headed off to meet up with the duelists later. |

┏ ┓-----T he duel had culminated into a most disappointing and disparaging display.
Avery was previously filled with an unhampered spirit, an excitement to see rumoured prowess on show and a measured amount of judgement that was reserved to see just how well his housemates, and his dorm mate, would perform. It was a brutal display, he was even sure he counted a single spell that had hit from the Slytherin side; which skewed his usual smirk. He had an excuse for missing any spells Slytherin had hit, as he’d been carefully managing his interaction with Beatrice; who it seemed was keen to test him and his dorm-mate’s sister, who had tried to dupe them all..
”Glad to meet my brother’s roommate. – May I know his name?” She had asked, with a look that spoke of her own spark of bold interest. It was one of the only traits that Avery admired in people, it made people interesting when they had gumption.
“Glad? Hm. – Leveret, Avery Leveret.” He had given with a smirk, a small challenge as if to identify himself to her as someone who had equal parts gumption and threat. His smirk waned as the duel ended, shaking his head slightly with visible disappointment. He didn’t have a chance to ask her name, as Beatrice was quick to start rubbing in the victory.
"It seems Ravenclaw was the best today! As I thought." Beatrice said, which prompted a curt huff of amusement from him.
“So it seems. - Let’s hope you perform as expertly, Beatrice.” He taunted her, playfully, as he uncrossed his arms and stood up from his seat. The Ravenclaw girl then continued, but offered what seemed to be genuine compassion for Ming to Ying, and it struck him that Beatrice wasn’t as he was. Where he would have enjoyed flaunting that victory, Beatrice was all too kind to act so aloof and he didn’t know how to feel about it, but he would know after their own duel no doubt. She puzzled him, in that he couldn’t quite place her intentions; but he wasn’t so reserved as to not go along with this out of fear. It was free experience after all, and if his aspirations were to be met; he would certainly have to expose himself to the cold and pricklies, in order to grow as both a duellist and as a student in general.
"See you next Sunday Leveret. Here's hoping your aspirations turn out to be more than just wishful thinking." Was her last remarks, prompting him to smile at her rather threateningly, as though he was already there in his mind. He simply bowed his head to her and let her make her exit, and only once she had left did he make any moves of his own; the duel he had come here to watch had ended in drastic failure, and so he would simply leave, not having the patience nor desire to see the outcomes of the other matches. Whilst it was rude, he couldn’t be held as some kind of villain, the only person he knew was Ming.
As he stood up from his seat, he passed a smile onto Hui-Ying, nodding at her encouragingly.
“Pass my best onto your brother. - Fang Hui-Ying.” He said, letting his dark eyes fall on her for a judgemental moment, still unsure about the trick she had attempted to play, but a smirk grew all the same. Something about her daring was admirable, perhaps more so than the display on the piste. He began to make his way for the exit, nodding to her in farewell regardless of her reply. If he caught Kim’s eye on the way out, a nod would be sent his way too.┗ ┛
