The classes... oh, the classes. Ami's face twisted into a wince at the reminder of her rather dismal grades and her iffy relationships with her teachers. She wasn't the best student, to be sure, although her lack of effort and interest was most likely to blame. Most kids would jump at the chance to learn magic, to learn the unknown, but for Ami? It was just more schoolwork she loathed doing.
"Favorite... teacher?" she echoed uncertainly, mentally running through the staff roster in her mind's eye, picking out each professor one by one and assessing their qualities. "I'm quite a fan of Cazarez, I suppose." It was true, the History of Magic teacher had always been kind to her, and the worst grade she'd ever gotten in his class was an E. Compared to the other subjects, his class was also a relatively easy one- after all, it was not so different than normal history in her normal school.
"I'm also rather partial to my own Head of House, Professor Lear, if only because he gave me a unicorn notebook," she added in a confessional tone. Even if the man had nearly killed the Hufflepuff house on multiple occasions, there was something charming and homey about the old man who had guided them through so many mishaps.
Twirling out of Scott's arms, Ami curtsied prettily, wobbling only slightly. "Shall we return to my humble abode?" she jested in her best British accent, suggesting that they return to the Hospital Wing before the nurse noticed. "I'm sure you're feeling the fatigue, as well."

Scott chuckled at Ami's attempt at an accent, and dropped her hands as he looked at her, tilting his head reflectively.
"You sound like my aunt." He said, "Every single one of them, in fact.. I'm happy I sound more like my dad, for that reason.. It's more fun, I think." Scott was referring to his, whilst still quite posh, more Irish-sounding pronunciations. What actually kept him from sounding precisely like his father and two brothers was of course his vocabulary, which was very much his mother's. She'd made sure of that much.
Scott then tried thinking about Ami's accent.. it was American, that much he knew, but where in America there was no use trying to tell. Everything was New York to him over there.. Coffee.. Couaffee.. Cahfee
"Very well then.. Don't worry, I'm not attempting yours.. If you feel like it then returning surely must be the best idea. You think anybody's noticed your absence? I should almost hope so.. For how long have we been gone?"
Scott checked his wrist as if something was there, and then turned to where they'd come from. This really had been a time. Not at all what he'd imagined, at least.. Holding his arm out for her to take should she want to, Scott smiled in no particular direction.
"Time flies when you're having fun."

Ami snorted at Scott’s comment. An aunt? Really? Ami had thought she was at least a mom-type of girl- she wasn't at all the cool-aunt you always saw in movies. Scott had really gone overboard with this one. And every single aunt? That really said something.
But of course, that didn’t matter much. He was funny, he was her friend, and he was due his credit for his attempt to cheer her up. ”You’re hilarious, man. I swear I’m more of a Mom overall, though. At least, that’s what I’ve heard.”
She elbowed him playfully. There was no way in all of Hogwarts she’d make it through Scott trying her accent with a straight face. But if he dared, she’d try not to laugh. Ami bit her lip, stifling a chuckle. Just the thought was enough to have her laughing on the floor. It would’ve been Scott out of all people, trying to be American out of all things? That’d be a sight for the ages.
Her eyebrows pricked up when he spoke again. Good. He wasn’t trying. ”Okay, okay. I get your reasoning, yeah. It’s an easy accent to butcher. People either overexaggerate or stereotype it.” She shrugged and nodded, tilting her head to show that he kept her interested.
”I hope no one’s really noticed." Ami's nose twitched as she took his arm, a darker expression crossing her face. "My mother's going to murder me already once she hears about my grades, let alone hear I've been disrespecting authority. I'd say it's been about... half an hour? Forty minutes? I took pretty long to get down the hallway to the Trophy Room."
Gently steering him out of the Ballroom, she let her head lean against his shoulder as the pair walked down the hallway, back to the Hospital Wing. This one, her mom would've said, had she been there, this one's a keeper. Hold him close.
She'd definitely hold him close. Accroche toi à ton rêve, right?

Ami and Scott exit to the Hospital Wing- and thus, the thread ends
