Classes had finished this cool Friday evening the wind outside of the castle howled against the old weathered down walls. Many students stayed indoor avoiding the harsh frigid weather that was brewing outdoors. The inside of the castle was warm the smell of lit torches and fireplaces could be smelled throughout the castle. The sweet smell of smoked wood with it's very faint scent of burning wood wafted throughout the castle.

Though the castle was lively with many children leaving their final classes. The library was fairly empty not many students seemed to be lingering around. The students who were in the library sat around in small groups speaking to their peers. While others seemed focused on their studies. Sitting alone in the back corner of the library. Sat a young fiery red haired girl, she seemed to be reading one of her textbooks intently. The book in question that she was reading was Magical Drafts and Potions. The red haired girl sat quietly looking at the book beside her along with some parchment paper as she seemed to scribble down some key context every now and then.

The young girl exhaled a small breathe setting her quill down as she looked up from her parchment paper. Alana examined her surroundings the young girl noted how quiet the library seemed compared to the outside. The wind still screeching and howling as it slammed against the walls of the castles making the windows seem to quake at the sheer force of the wind. Closing her eyes slightly the young red haired girl took in a small intake of air allowing her senses to be flood with the fresh smell of ink that wafted through the library along with the smell of old and new paper from the many books that resided in this large domain.

Alana opened her eyes slightly exhaling again softly, the fairly small girl stood up she was no taller then four feet and five inches tall. Her fiery red hair laid gently on her shoulder in waves hitting the small center of her back. Her sea-foam green bluish eyes scanned her surroundings. Alana always felt at peace inside the library. There was rarely ever any drama or chaos inside the library and most of the time it was peaceful. The only sounds one could hear would be the scribbling of a quill on parchment paper which if you asked Alana was something extremely relaxing.

Alana decided to get up from her spot and search for a new book to read. Something that would hold her interest. After all Alana has read many books during her free time at home, but none compared to all of the books that resided inside the library. The fiery red haired girl examined each and every book in front of her. The young girl would touch the spine of the books humming slightly. Her sea-foam eyes scanned the books deeply wondering what to read. So far none of the books seemed to catch her attention or pop out to her. After all Alana was particular with what she would read, the young girl preferred non-fiction over fiction. The young girl quite enjoyed her history and anything historically accurate. But she also enjoyed some fiction every now and again.

Alana noticed a book that seemed a bit worn down taking the book off the shelf Alana examined the book reading the title. The book read Hogwarts a History though Alana has read this book many times and even owned a copy she was quite curious why this copy seemed a bit more beat up then the rest of the books. Glancing around the young girl took the book back to her little study area.

Moving her textbooks to the side Alana opened up the old battered book and started to indulge herself into the book her mind was hyper focused for what was in front of her and not her surroundings. The red haired girl stayed in her little trance while she continued to read ignoring her surroundings. Though Alana was a very talkative person she did enjoy being deep in her own little world reading this book in front of her.

I had officially made the stupidest decision of my life; take a walk outside in the worst possible weather conditions. Even my love for cold weather hadn't prepared me for these conditions. By the time I had realized what I'd done, it was far too late. The raging winter winds had already started pushing me away from the castle. I was luckily able to grab onto a mighty Evergreen before I was pushed further away. I eventually gained the courage to attempt fighting the winds for control over my my balance. It was this courage which sent me on a two hour struggle back to the castle. I eventually managed to grab a hold of a small crevice in the castle walls, where a singular brick used to lie. I slowly edged around the outside of the castle, holding on for dear life whenever my hands grazed a crevice in the walls. After a long battle with Mother Nature, I was graced with the sight of a large window. After peering through the window, I realized it was the library window. Inside I quickly spotted a short, red-haired girl reading some old, worn book, sitting by herself near the window. I frantically banged on the window, shouting, "Help! I'm stuck out here!! Help!" even though I'm sure she couldn't hear me.

With the blistering frigid window outdoors. Alana was focused in her book. When she heard frantic banging on the thick glass windows across from her corner. Glancing up the red haired girl noticed the young first year outside the rain pouring down like a torrent. The wind slashing against the walls and the young girl outdoors. Alana's sea-foam blue eyes widen in surprise. Releasing her book quickly the fiery red haired girl rushed over towards the window.

Alana took a deep breath of air before throwing the windows opened. Alana reached out of the window as the rain slammed inside creating a puddle on the smooth tile flooring. The short girl stood no taller then four feet five inches tall. Alana reached out of the window standing on her tippy toes grabbing a hold of the other first year. The rain began to slowly drench Alana's wavy red hair making it start to stick to the sides of her face. Humming quietly Alana pulled the other girl in tumbling backwards in the process one she accomplished pulling her in.

After pulling in Magdaline Alana let out a shallow breath of air. Laying back on the soaked floor her red hair sprawled out around her as the young girl stared up at the ceiling watching the books that were enchanted to float about glide with ease. Glancing beside her Alana noticed Magdaline beside her who was drenched head to toe. Standing up quickly Alana closed the windows to stop the harsh wind from causing more chaos than it already has. Glancing around Alana noted how the library seemed a bit in dissaray their were rain droplets everywhere parchment that was once laying loosely on the tables now were scattered around the library. The red haired girl looked down at Magdaline a curious look on her face.

"May I ask why you decided to be outdoors during this weather?"

The red haired girl seemed curious humming to herself staring at the young girl in front of her.

After banging on the window for less than a minute, the girl, like a guardian angel, opened the window and pulled me through the window and into the library, my clothes completely drenched and my body still shivering from the harsh winter weather I had just been rescued from. I breathed shakily while lying flat on my back, coughing up a storm. I closed my eyes and took some deep breaths, and after a minute or two, I finally managed to get out, "I- I.. didn't think.. it was.. going to be that bad.. out there.. but once I realized my predicament.. the wind had already pushed me too far from the door... and I was stuck in the storm. It took everything I hat to get back to the castle... I- uh... I am sorry for getting your clothes wet.. along with the rest of the library.." I looked down at the floor in embarrassment. I began fidgeting with my soaking-wet Slytherin robes, feeling nervous about what the girl's response may be. The library was a wreck, with papers scattered everywhere and small rain puddles dotting the library floor. The raging storm continued outside, and a rumbling thunder could be heard all around the castle.

The fiery red haired girl glance down at the young Slytherin first year in front of her. Alana’s fiery red hair was slight soaked sticking to the sun kissed girls oval shape face. Glancing down at the girl Alana smiled softly her sea-foam teal eyes sparkled. The young girl chuckled softly.

Alana scanned the library noting the disarray that seemed to be at place though many of the toppled over books seemed to be moving back into place themselves the fiery red haired girl picked up a bit of the shaken parchment papers humming softly under her breath. The low rumble of thunder resonated throughout the area.

β€œDid you enjoy the lovely weather outside? I mean it is decent the low rumble the torrential downpour it would be even lovelier if the weather was a bit more calming I suppose.”

Alana chuckled softly. Her honey sweet tone spoke sweetly in the now cal Library the firey red hair girl stared down at the girl that seemed to be resting a top of the soaked tile library floor.

The fiery red haired girl began to pick up the mess that surrounded the duo. She began to hum a sweet tone under her voice. A smile gracing her gentle features her freckled splattered face seemed to shine with a ray of happiness her sea-foam teal eyes sparkled sweetly. As Alana continued to pick up a bit the young girl took another glance down at the Slytherin girl smiling sweetly.

β€œYou are okay right Magdaline? You did not get hurt did you?”

Alana smiled sweetly at the young first year girl she was genuinely concerned about the young first year student. Alana was a caring soul and worried constantly about those around her. The fiery red haired girl smiled kneeling down to look Magdaline in the eyes her sea-foam eyes read nothing but sincerity and kindness. Alana’s arms rested in her kneecaps as she knelt down to Magdalines eye level. Alana’s sweet smile radiating off of her freckled covered face. Her button nose was slightly red from the harsh frigid breeze that had attacked the calm library. Her once wavy hair now slightly straight with the water droplets gently pattering against the tile floor. Alana awaited an answer front the young girl that was in front of her.
