Astrid Olsen was a second string quidditch player for the Durmstrang team. She had extensive experience and contact with interfacing with the characters of Valentin Schnell and Romeo Marchonné. However, she also happened to know Romeo's 'younger' brother Piérre (truthfully, though, who could really say if he was younger or older other than comparing heights). Over the course of winter break, particularly at the Sato Yule Ball (full formalities to be made dependent on course of events that occur), and the two of them had certainly noted the relationship between the boy's brother at the (as yet unknown to be) new champion of Durmstrang.
Piérre happened to be in a bit of a pickle... but if he played his relationships right and laundered the letters correctly, he could overcome anything, including the unfortunate language barrier that he had been thrust into.
He trusted Astrid. Trusted her enough to send along Valentin's first letter that had been sent in Russian to the girl by means of a Hogwarts owl. Enclosed was also the boy's elaborate request, the basis of the new laundering system that the boy had contrived deliberately. Timing of the owls had to be perfect, and thus he ensured that such a message was emphasized again and again. They had to be spaced out enough so that communications could happen... but just far apart that both would have time to translate and retranslate the letters.

If you could translate this to English and send it back as quickly as humanly possible, I would be greatly appreciative. In addition, if things start getting more complicated, I may need your help to translate my English messages back to Russian. I don't know how frequently Romeo uses correspondence in Russian, I've only ever known him to use English or Italian. Any help in that aspect would be greatly appreciated.
The same goes for Valentin. If you can give me any insights whatsoever as to his writing style, his preferred formalities, his language of choice, anything of significant interest that would be beneficial in the process of attempting to mimic his writing style, this would be immensely helpful. If I'm going to make this great deception work, I need as much information as humanly possible.

It was a random Thursday evening and all the Durmstrang Institute was having dinner, somewhere in Russia. Owls were coming in and out of the windows of the dining hall. A tired-looking owl flew to an almost white haired third year who was talking with her friends. Seeing the bird approach, the girl extended her arm for the owl to rest. Still talking, she took the envelope from the bird that slowly flew away.
Astrid, intrigued, oppened the envelope. Two folded letters were inside : on in Russian and one in English. She started to read the Russian one and after a few words, looked for the captain ant the co-captain of the Durmstrang Quidditch team. Why was she recieving one of their letters?
She started to read the second letter and chuckled. How could she have forgotten Romeo's brother and his plan? The conversation the had at the Sato Yule Ball was like Pierre's outfit : special and interesting.
When she finished to read both letters, Astrid decided to answer and translate Valentin's letter just after diner, so she could send her answer back to Scotland as fast as possible. And if the owl who brang Pierre's letter was too tired, she'll use a Durmstrang owl. Or Viktoria's.

Early in the morning (indeed, even before the curfew of Hogwarts was lifted for the morning), Piérre received a different owl than the one that he had first sent. By this point, he had replied to his brother's first letter and was just about to send an owl back to his twin. First thing, he was planning on heading to the Owlery before going to breakfast... but the rapping on the Gryffindor tower window caused the light-sleeping Piérre to leap awake and look about in a panic before realizing that it was only an owl that was pounding on his window.
Letting the critter in, the boy ripped open the letter, prepared for anything...
To find that it was from Astrid. Oh what good fortune! Piérre needed some good news right now.
As he read by the light of a faint Lumos to avoid waking anyone else up, the boy's smile grew and grew until his teeth were practically glowing with the reflection of the light from his magic. Perfect! Perfect!
He finally had a lead, and a proper translation of the formerly unsolvable glyphs in Russian. He finally had a person he could consistently contact. Sure, he would likely need to be able to come up with a quicker way to transport the messages between them... the multi-day gap between his receiving letters from Valentin and then sending letters back was painfully long. Until he could come up with something better, though... he had a start.
Romeo sent letters in Russian then, huh?
Odd. He didn't seem too thrown off by Piérre's letter in English; this either meant that he was secretly on to the mysterious sender, or else he believed that the message was legitimate. Piérre would have to keep probing with Romeo... but if Valentin wanted to converse in Russian, Piérre would play the game. He would let the albino choose the rules, and the boy would play with them if only to lull the hell-seeker into a more 'secured' state.
If he wanted to write in Russian, though... he would need to consult his translator again. Would he have to continue to runt his business for more than one letter? Perhaps... but if he continued to hold his cards close to his chest and only revealed the queens he didn't need, the boy could stay ahead. Stay ahead of the curve, know when the gamble is good, and take the bull by the horns when the time was right for such action.
The letter and attached desired translation would return to Astrid hopefully no later than that night by way of a fresh Hogwarts arctic owl that was quite unfortunately not very friendly to foreign students... Not that Piérre knew, of course... poor Astrid would have to find out the hard way.

I can't tell you how much this helps me out, the translation and the offer of continued help. It is interesting... Romeo seemed to respond without issue when I sent him a letter in English. Again, I suspect that Valentin may be suspicious of me (well, not me, but of the ruse), but to continue playing along, I think it will be safest if at first I attempt to write the letter back to him in Russian until I know more.
As such, could I have the favor of rewriting this English letter into Russian characters (preferably cursive)? I will do the actual connection of the letters together in a ruse of Romeo's handwriting, but I want to make sure my grammar and syntax are correct. I don't have the benefit of being a native speaker or a person who has taken time to learn the language well enough to be literate or conversational. I may need more help with this in the future depending on what more I discover from their writing habits, but again, thank you so much for your help. You don't know what this means to me.
As for how I got my hands on the letter to begin with... I wrote to Valentin in the guise of Romeo, and have been sending letters to Romeo as the guise of Valentin. It's a highly complex trick, but I think that if I can play this game correctly, I can get them in a place together and finally...
Well, as I mentioned at the ball; the spark is there, it just needs the right breath of air to set it all ablaze. If I can do that, I think that Romeo in particular will finally come to and notice what Valentin's been trying so hard to put out there in his plain sight.

The sun was already down and it was almost the beginning of Durmstrang's curfew. Astrid was the last student present in the library this late. She was sitting near a window and three books were open in front of her. After this after today's Quidditch practice, the girl had took a shower before comming to the library to start her homeworks. She was finishing an essay when she saw the time. She needed to finish her essay faster. Finally finished, she went to put the books back to their place before going back to near the window to take her bag and leave to the dormitory.
That's when she saw the owl. A tired owl, a letter attached to his foot. Quickly, Astrid openned the window and took the letter. The owl flew away to Durmstrang's owelry while the girl openned the piece of parchement. The letter was from Piérre Marchonné. Totaly forgeting the curfew in half an hour, Astrid sat down and started to read the letter.
Her answer written, Astrid took her bag and went to the owelry, seeking for the first owl that came for her from Hogwarts. Well rested, the owl wouldn't have any problem to do a night travel to Scotland.

By the time he received the letter back from Astrid, Piérre was just about to call it finished with his letter sending. He would not know that on this same day he would receive a letter from his brother as well, his sibling having taken the bait hook, line and sinker. He wasn't entirely sure if Valentin had taken his bait... but he had half of the attendees, he was more that sure that he could somehow shepherd the other one to wherever it was he had to get them in order to make his plan work.
So now, his plan was to be elevated to phase two, and the boy was ready to thank Astrid for her help after receiving her letter and letting the Durmstrang owl rest before sending it out that evening for a night ride back to the northern school.

Valentin seems either interested or at least intrigued enough for me to be able to move forward. Either way, I have to thank you again and again for your help in both translating and retranslating. I'm fairly certain that I can copy my brother's handwriting; it was mostly the words and vocabulary that I needed help with the most.

It had only been four days that Piérre and Astrid were writing to each other, but to the girl, it seemed like way more. Everyday, she was watching Romeo and Valentin to see if something was happening. She hadn't seen much until now, but it had only been less than a week.
When she recieved Piérre's letter in the late afternoon, she was with friends. Obviously, they asked questions. Astrid answered that it was from her family, some private stuff. Apparently it was enough for her friends to stop asking questions about it.
