At his name being mentioned, Jonathan waved to the girl with a smile and learning that the girls were both students already and knew each other. 'Camp?' The boy had never been to a summer camp before, nor to one for history of magic. Did that mean that she had gone to a sort of summer school? He'd heard there were places that did that. Or would take a group of students to a historical spot or something for a trip over the summer. It was supposed to be both fun and educational. That would have been interesting and he waited to see how Amanda would reply to Cecily's question about the trip. When the other girl mentioned having four older siblings, his eyes widened. He couldn't imagine having that many siblings! One Kieran was enough even if he was younger.

"I have one of those!" Jonathan stated a tad excitedly when he saw the glass orb. Actually, it had belonged to his grandmother but she gave it to him. She'd called it a keepsake when he'd first saw the thing when he was little. Now, it was used as that for him to remember her, but also she had told him it would help his concentration. He wasn't sure how that was supposed to happen quite yet. His grandmother liked people to figure things out for themselves and told him he'd have to do the same with the Remembrall. "My grandmother said it was to help with concentration." Giving a shy shrug he wondered if she should tell them that he was sure there was more to it than that. But, if Amanda had one, then that meant she would know what they were used for and could tell him right? Unless, she'd gotten one from her parents or something too and they'd told her what his grandmother had told him?

“The History of Magic trip was fun. We went to an awesome cave city in Georgia. The country, that is, not the state in America. I have three siblings: one older sister, one twin brother, and one younger brother. My sister’s a sixth year Hufflepuff and my twin’s a second year, like me, but he’s in Gryffindor. So I don’t really see my siblings during the school year either.”

When her new acquaintance’s commented on her Remembrall, Amanda grinned. “Yeah, it’s pretty cool. Basically, a red cloud will appear inside if you’ve forgotten something. The downside is, though, that it doesn’t tell you what you forgot. I don’t know about them helping you concentrate, though. It’s quite a nifty little trinket. I thought that it might come in handy so I bought one for myself last year.”

Just then, the trolley witch came by, offering sweets. Amanda took out a little pouch filled with spare change. Her parents had given her money to spend on treats from the trolley. “I’ll have a couple cauldron cakes and five chocolate frogs, please.” Amanda was always looking for new chocolate frog cards to add to her collection. She turned to her new friends. “You guys want anything?”

“Oh, I may be on the side of the angels, but don't think for one second that I am one of them.”

The two people in there were very interesting in Cecily's opinion. First, it was nice that they even let her in the compartment. There just weren't very many people who did that. Second, both of them were pretty talkative. Well, at least Amanda was. Sadly, that too wasn't very common at Hogwarts. There were plenty of shy people.

Cecily listened attentively as Amanda talked about her History of Magic trip, her siblings, and the Remembrall. Georgia? Cecily had never heard of a country named that. She wasn't too splendid at Geography. She only learned it because her muggle father made her do so. It wasn't the most interesting topic out there, however. The Remembrall was most interesting to hear about. Red smoke? In that small ball? That would be weird to look at.

"I have never heard of a country named Georgia. I probably should though. I'm not too good at Geography," Cecily told Amanda.

"You have a twin?" she continued. "That's really neat. And that's even more amazing that you are in different houses. Do you wish sometimes you were in the same house? I can imagine you would get lonely if you were close to your twin."

Cecily did not say anything about the Remembrall. She wanted to ask what the point of it was if it didn't tell you what you had forgotten, but she did not want to be rude.

The trolley witch came by and started to offer sweets. As Amanda told the trolley witch what she wanted Cecily eyed a brown package near her. They were Coconut Ice candies from her grandmother. Did she really need more sweets? Cecily tossed this thought in her head until Amanda asked if they wanted anything.

Cecily was going to her second year at Hogwarts. It wouldn't hurt to buy a few candies, would it? It was such an important day as well.

"I'll take three chocolate frogs and a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, please."

Cecily carefully took the sweets from the Trolley Witch and then said, "I have these candies from my grandmother too. They're called Coconut Ice. I think you can get them in Hogsmeade. Anyway, they're really good. You all should try them."

She took out the package, opened it, and unwrapped a pink and white candy. She popped one in her mouth and closed her eyes as she tasted the sweet, delicious candy.
