Birthday Princess
The week had already reached its halfway point, and Caoimhe could not manage to find calm until evening approached. Caoimhe was eager to celebrate her friend's birthday tonight and unveil the painting she had been laboring on for the past few weeks. Part of her was delighted to witness Duvessa's reaction, but she was more eager to get rid of the painting so she wouldn't be reminded of all the sleepless nights, the moments she may have struck the canvas because it wasn't lovely enough, and the occasions she may have cracked the frame trying to transport it. Thank Merlin for Reparo, Caoimhe would have been devastated if she were a muggle.
Caoimhe was able to enjoy a decent, well-earned night's rest after the completion of the project. She had spent the previous night in Duvessa's room having a mini slumber party, and they had spent this morning getting ready together after being awoken by delivery owls dropping off heaps of parcels and letters. Caoimhe applied some makeup to her mate using her Cosmetic Puff, and they enjoyed styling each other's hair. They were ready to conquer the day and party the night away.
When they strolled down to the Great Hall and along the Slytherin table with their arms interlocked, Caoimhe observed several students of each house she recognized and waved from a distance. She turned her back to them as Duvessa escorted them to empty chairs, where the girl instantly sat and began debating what to eat at the table.
Caoimhe could not determine what to eat without deviating from her diet, while Duvessa began to nibble marmalade covered toast. She intended to consume a few snacks and baked goods later at Duvessa's party, but for now she would just consume one poached egg and a cup of tea.
Using a fork and knife, she cut it into several smaller pieces and slowly began eating the egg while sipping her tea. She turned to Duvessa and inquired, "Are you excited? Slumber party!"
