First meetings
Date: November 1st, 2022 Time: 3:00Pm
November is known to be quite chilly, especially with jack-frost nipping at every bodies noses. Classes were finishing up for the day as many children older students and of course the younger students bustled around the courtyard. Rushing through the human bodies to get out of the frostbitten cold air. Amongst the students roaming around was Alana Dibble her fiery red hair kept brushing in front of her eyes as she walked weaving through traffic. She was rather small for her age though it did not stop the girl none the less. Heaving a low sigh the red head made her way towards the fountain that rested in the center of the courtyard. Placing her books on a marble bench deciding to take a rest. The young girl sat down opening up Hogwarts a history. Though the air was bitterly cold and made most woman shiver Alana personally did not mind the bitter cold air. Honestly she quite enjoyed it though her face would beg to differ. Her cheeks were rosey red along with the tips of her ears. Adjusting her winter cloak a bit more snuggly around her she pulled her winter hat down a bit, along with moving her scarf up just a bit to cover her mouth and the lower half of her nose. As the young eleven year old started to read Hogwarts a History she lost track of surroundings and everything going on around her. Her eyes glued to her book.
Closed to @Caoimhe Kyle

-----The temperature was rather low at the time, and throngs of students would swarm back inside Hogwarts castle to be warm again, causing quite a disturbance to the silent ambiance of the Courtyard. Caoimhe also was prepared to escapeΒ the weather after Herbology was dismissed, but the commotion persuaded her to linger behind. The disturbance quickly subsided, and the only sound left was the fountain's humming. The tranquility that the Courtyard would provide at this time was appreciated by Caoimhe. Caoimhe drew out her diary and quill from her bag and used the opportunity to compose something about her day. The Slytherin was unaware that a female was sitting on the opposite side of the marbled fountain though.
Caoimhe couldn't help but feel content with the manner her life unfolded at the moment. She maintained strong, healthy circle of friends, earned perfect grades, and enjoyed herself at the Halloween party the previous day. Her quality of life was without flaw. Ink tainted the parchment gracefully as she remanence about the semester, but stopped abruptly when longing to return home crept into her mental.
The Slytherin was not one to dwell on sadness for long outside of her dormitory; more so distracting herself when the depressing thoughts returned while Caoimhe was in public. Usually she'd be practicing her spell-casting at this time, but feared accidentally harming another student. Doing so would restrict her from participating in duels, so she digressed for now.
Turning around after putting her items away, Caoimhe tilted her head and inquired: "What are you reading?"

First meetings
Alana glanced up from her book staring at the young Slythrin girl in front of her. It took the young red haired girl a moment to realize that the girl was speaking to her. Alana's face broke out into a large grin as she held up Hogwarts a History to show Caoimhe in front of her. Alana felt excitement brew inside her as the thought of a new friend popped inside her mind.
"Hogwarts a History! It's one of our textbooks but I enjoy reading it after all it mentions many interesting things you know? I mean reading in generally is magical! It's as if the letters on the pages transport you into that world or even that time in history. Its quite magical honestly"
The young red haired girl started to ramble quickly after she stopped rambling on about her book. Alana turned slightly red in the face in embarrassment showing up a sheepish smile rubbing the back of her head with her free hand as she chuckled sheepishly.
"Oops did it again. My names Alana Dibble. Super sorry about that I usually ramble when I get a bit to excited ahaha. What's your name?"
The young first year girl stared at the girl sitting across from her curiously her light blueish almost teal eyes sparkled in curiosity staring at the girl across from her.

First meetings
Caoimhe assumed this to be the same girl she met on the train to Hogwarts since the back of the girl's head was adorned with flaming red hair, and she was clutching a book like usual. She was astonished to discover that this girl was not her friend, Verthandi, when the redheaded girl turned around to address her holding up the book to display the cover. Despite that and not wanting to appear rude for ending the conversation abruptly, she was delighted to converse with another girl her age nonetheless, so she edged closer to prolong the conversation. The Slytherin could not fathom, with either perplexity or disdain, why anyone would make the decision to read "Hogwarts: A History." Certainly, books were wonderful, but History? Seriously?
Caoimhe couldn't help but crack a smile throughout the girl's monologue attempting to find an answer but kept getting thrown off as the speech proceeded, but she allowed the girl to continue talking as sheΒ sat there patiently trying to see whether the girl was exaggerating about her love towards History. At the realization that there was no bluff, she decided to keep her dislike of history to herself. She recognized her passion for the topic based only on her dialogue. Everyone had their own specialty; Caoimhe's was DADA.
Caoimhe's futile attempts to reply must have been recognized by the redhead girl, as she proceeded to apologize for rambling. Caoimhe observed the girl blushing with humiliation, and she attempted to console her by offering a smile. "It's fine, truly." She began to dispel the uneasiness that both individuals felt. "My name is Caoimhe Kyle,"
Caoimhe would have engaged with the same fervor if the book had been about charms or DADA, butΒ they could undoubtedly have something in common after getting to know each other. Caoimhe would deduce from a brief analysis of the girl's surname that she was not of Pureblood reverence like the majority of her peers. The half-blood would have a greater understanding of the muggle world, allowing Caoimhe to handle herself in a more relaxed manner.
"That's how I feel when I read muggle books," Caoimhe admitted, "The crime, the passion, it's out of this world."
Obviously, the wizarding world had its own subgenre of murder-mystery novels, but something about the muggles' writing style made theirΒ booksΒ far more compelling. Caoimhe tended to favor muggle novels over magical ones, despite experiencing the magic in both. As Caoimhe perused the pages of muggle literature, she would discover fresh information about them, prompting her to believe that her world and theirs were not as separate as people would proclaim.
437/200 @Alana Dibble; sorry about the wait!

First meetings
Alana grinned excitedly at Caoimhe brightly. The frigid wind brushed against Alana's cheeks gracefully making a few strands of her fiery red hair clouding her vision slightly. Brushing the few loose strands of her wavy red hair from her face. Alana placed her book down beside her smiling ever so sweetly at Caoimhe. The young girl was ecstatic to make a new friend.
Alana examined Caoimhe's attire noting the young girl seemed to be wearing her uniform attire. Alana took note of her green and silver tie noting the girl was most likely in Slytherin. Tilting her head slightly and thinking to herself as well. Alana grew a smile.
"Muggle stories do hit quite differently do they not? I agree about the crime and passion that they hold. It is quite enticing to say the least. Even the stories that break your heart just slightly."
Alana spoke with a hard passion the young red haired girl adored reading books after all reading was an escape from reality. Even though Alana did enjoy company of other people as well.. The young red haired girl enjoyed the thought of making as many friends as she possibly could. Any her world she would be happy having an army of friends after all. Nobody could not have to many friends.
As the cool wintry breeze swayed about rustling up a few leave in its presence the young fiery red haired girl stared at the other girl in front of her smiling brightly. Alana felt a sense of joy at the thought of one who she could agree with when it comes to muggle books though. Alana is more into fiction books then non-fiction. She was more of a history buff and enjoyed learning more about the around and what has happened in the past.
It's okay @Caoimhe Kyle
