Dearest Grandmother,
Mother will truly be visiting us? Perhaps I should ask Uncle Harris is he can help me purchase a late Christmas gift for her. I've been saving up my allowance. I cannot wait to hear all about her travels!
I suppose this is my last letter before break. It all seemed to go by so fast, and also so slow, if that makes sense. I'm making good progress on my studies, so I'm sure I will be prepared for next semester. I will be prepared for the winter parties as well, I promise.
Merry Christmas, Grandmother. I'll be happy to see everyone at home again.
Sincerely,
Isadora Everridge

Dearest Grandmother,
I've returned to Hogwarts and settled back in quickly. I know you were disappointed by my marks last semester, so I'm going to do my very best to bring them up before the end of the year. I met with Ruby Cazares in the library the other day, and it went very well. She's really impressive, and she even offered to tutor me. I'm looking forward to our first session. Surely she'll be able to help my academic standing.
I was wondering if Mother wrote to you at all. I'm curious to know if she enjoyed the holidays in Costa Rica.
Hope you are well!
Sincerely,
Isadora Everridge

Isadora,
I wouldn't hold your breath on word from your mother. She's a flighty thing, and may not owl me for some time. Do yourself a favor and focus on your studies.
I am pleasantly surprised with your meeting the Cazares girl. She has an impressive lineage, you know. Her tutoring could be an effective way to strengthen our connection with them. Don't make a fool out of yourself in front of her. Remember, as an Everridge, you must be a talented witch.
Continue along this avenue, but be careful not to trip.
Sincerely,
Ramona Bethany Everridge

Dearest Grandmother,
The new semester is off to a busy start. I was assigned a partner in Astronomy to write an essay with. Her name is Hannah Blossom, a Gryffindor, and I think I remember her from the Summer Ball some years ago. Do you remember at all?
I have a new History of Magic teacher as well, Professor Browne. I'm not sure what happened with Professor Zahid. Some of the older Hufflepuffs seems to remember Professor Browne, I think he used to be the Head of House. I hope to do better in his classes.
Sincerely,
Isadora Everridge

Isadora,
Good riddance, that man barely qualified as a Professor from what I've heard. Though, given the hiring practices of that Headmaster of yours, who knows if this Professor Browne is a worthy candidate. Do keep me informed of the curriculum, Isadora.
Yes, I recall the Blossom Family. Quite affluent, despite their bloodline. Hannah must be part Veela, then. They're said to be able to manipulate the weak-minded with their charm. Perhaps that's how they married in the first place. Keep your wits about you around her, just in case.
I may volunteer our manor as the venue for the next Summer Ball. It may give you practice as how to be a proper hostess, and perhaps I can get Harrison out of that musty mortuary long enough to consider a wife.
Sincerely,
Ramona Bethany Everridge

Dearest Grandmother,
I'm sure Everridge Manor would be a splendid venue for the Summer Ball. I would be honored to learn how to host from you.
Is Uncle Harris very busy still? I hope he is not overworking himself. And how is Grandfather holding up? Is his health improving?
I'm making steady progress in my classes, thanks to Ruby Cazares. She's been helping me to perfect my spellwork, and giving me some good advice about Hogwarts. I'm sure her parents must be very proud of her. She's very kind and talented.
Sincerely,
Isadora Everridge

Isadora,
Yes, Harrison is working himself into the ground, lately. I've suggested he take an assistant since his father isn't able to run the business with him anymore. Of course, any potential hire would need to be properly vetted by myself. But, there's only so much a house elf can do.
Sullivan has been much more active. He'll go out to the stables often to tend to the thestrals. I've had to call him in on more than one occasion so he doesn't catch a cold.
I'm glad to hear that your studies are going so well, as well as your sessions with Ruby. I should owl the Cazares my compliments and see if I can't have them over sometime for dinner. And perhaps she can serve as an example to you of a fine pureblood witch of proper breeding. You have much to learn.
Sincerely,
Ramona Bethany Everridge

Dearest Grandmother,
I'm happy that Grandfather is doing better. And an assistant mortician sounds like a nice idea. Perhaps Bradley and I can help Uncle Harris some during the summer if he hasn't found someone by then.
I'll have my next report back soon. I'll owl it to you in the next week or so.
Sincerely,
Isadora Everridge

Isadora,
A proper lady does not work in a mortuary, child. Do you think I let your mother work with her father? No. When Bradley is older, he'll take a job with Harrison. You will be lucky to marry a gentleman with a fine fortune. I'll have to take care of that, as I always do.
You really ought to inquire after your cousin more. You'll be going to Hogwarts together next year, after all. Of course, likely in different houses. Still, I expect you to be more considerate towards your family than this, young lady.
I'm waiting for word of your marks. Keep in mind, if they fall, I'm not the only one you're disappointing.
Sincerely,
Ramona Bethany Everridge

Dearest Grandmother,
I should be able to send you my marks next week. I'm waiting on my Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. We've been learning a lot about Doxies and practicing the Knockback Jinx on pillows. I'm glad we're past the unit on curses, at least. They're very unpleasant.
I apologize for not thinking to ask about Bradley. How is he? If he wants, he can always send me an owl.
I've been studying very hard all last month, like you said. Perhaps, if I do well, I may be able to spend a little more time with my peers? Only if you're alright with it, of course.
Sincerely,
Isadora Everridge
