Silence seemed to be the only thing he could hear. His vision seemed to redden as his fists turned white knuckled. He couldn’t do anything about this. He felt so helpless to the situation. His ears started to ring, the sound of the talking muffled around him. He was totally in his own world. Jay stared at his messed up robes, perhaps burning holes in them. If looks could kill, anyone he would look at would fall dead instantly. The Gryffindor tried to hold himself together. It’s still school, he can’t get into a fight. He can’t.. can he?

It’s only fair. Punch that smug smile off that face of hers. Show her that he’s not one to be messed with. No one will have to deal with her shenanigans. Jay glanced at his best friend over at the Slytherin table. No, he can’t. Not here, anyways. He lets her go with the intention of literally mauling her at the common room. His nice and gentle demeanor was completely shattered, a sense of malicious intent now shrouded him. It was enough to give anyone a chill down their neck. Jay bangs the table as hard as he can before standing up and brushing himself off.

Yuck. He knew he wasn’t in the right mindset to be talking to anyone else, so he decided to go the bathroom as well. Destroying school property was way better than snapping at someone.

Venturin sat down at the table, he was pretty annoyed at the fact that he was sorted into the House of the 'Brave'. The constant disarray made him feel sickened. He really had to have gone to Slytherin, HAD TO HAVE.

But no, the Sorting Hat seemed to have made it's mistake. A mistake that Venturin won't forget... Idiocy, pure idiocy... I could've avoided this problem, but no, House of the Brave for you. He looked around at the other Gryffindors, studying them thoughtfully.

Hmmmmmmmm. He studied some of the candles around, tilting his head, he seemed a bit interested in the magic of this castle, mostly only that stopped him from being completely grim and dark.

Never-the-less, Venturin hoped that maybe things wouldn't be so bad, at least not as bad as they seemed to be to him. Hopefully.... Maybe.

Hmmph! Anyway, now I must think of my future, House Cup? Hmmm, hopefully we win, I mean, I'll try me best to lead everyone to glory and greatness, or just myself if no one wishes to be brought to such an honor. He kept thinking of his future in Hogwarts, hoping none of this 'Gryfindorriness' leaves him in the mud.

Nate staid seated quietly as the sorting was finished, happy to be ignored. He grew curious though and started to people watch.

Most kids around him where chatting, getting to know their new classmates and sharing their summer stories. Nathan noticed with shame that he was the only first year with second hand robes. The other first years robes were brand new, the black almost shining. His robes were the cheapest he could find. His guardian, Mrs Harring, was too old to come to the Alley with him, especially since she didn't have anyone to watch the younger kids she was fostering, so Nate had gone shopping alone and he had spent every penny he had. Even then, he still couldn't afford new robes or brand new books.

Lost in his mind, his train of thought was interrupted by the boy sitting next to him harrumphing to himself. His nose was so high in the air, one might think he was trying to sniff something out. His robes seemed even more pristine than everyone else's... Why couldn't Nathan go to a normal school? Why did he have to be a Wizard ?

With a sigh, Nate tried to find a silver lining... and it appeared in the form of a mountain of delicious food.

It's so long with a lot of students. I am sitting here between girl and boy and I even don't know there names, but it doesn't make me feel bad.

Oh, someone asked me why I don't eat, No, no, I am fine, thank you for asking How could I get lost in my thoughts so much that didn't notice food, I am so hungry.

They are all discussing news, friends and families, why it's so interesting to talk about it.

Oh, I didn't think yet how to earn more House points, how to earn more money.
I would like to buy more books later and I would be so happy to be able to buy pet and broom. I hope I won't have any bad professor, who knows maybe some will decide to not like me.

I guess I will try to apply later for Quddich, wanna try to see my chances for seeker. But I want to buy broom first.

What would I choose to be in future? I don't know, I am interesting in so many spheres, but I am just in my first year, I believe I will decide it later when I will see what I am good at.

Eliza had just been sorted into Gryffindor and squished in between two students on the bench. She was excited to start the school year at Hogwarts, though it would be quite different. She was a Muggleborn so she was used to Muggle subjects like History, Geography, Math, Language... This would be quite different. She assumed she wasn't learning about any of those things and she would be right. While she did have all of her school supplies and she read over some of the books because she was so curious about them, she really had no idea what was going on.

It looked like there were quite a few first years there as well. Eliza took a sip of pumpkin juice and turned to the person beside her, hoping they would be a friendly face. "Hi, I'm Eliza," she greeted. She hoped the other person would want to talk to her as well. You never knew when meeting a new person how they would be until they started talking.

Eliza took a moment to look down the long table as well and saw so many happy faces. She didn't blame them. She was probably grinning from ear to ear at the moment with how excited she was to be at Hogwarts. She would miss her parents and her dog (she was sad they weren't allowed so he had to stay at home), but her excitement for what was to come pushed those feelings aside for now anyway. She would definitely write to them after her first official day tomorrow, though. She would have so much to tell them!

((OOC: Anyone can say they are beside her to talk to her, wasn't sure who would be open to that.))

After being sorted into Gryffindor, Hui-Ying headed towards the red and golden table. The cheers coming from there contrasted with the tightness in her heart. Not that thinking logically she didn't knew this was most likely to happen, she knew herself and how different her personality was from her brother's, but in her heart she always expected and hoped to be selected in Slytherin. Apparently that was not the case, and the hat had made the decision based in who she is and not in what she wanted. She felt a little lost, like if for the first time she felt a tendril of loneliness at Hogwarts because she would be alone at that table and not have someone that she trusted already at her side waiting for her. She also felt anxious as she walked to pick a seat at the long wooden bench, is not that she was that shy or introvert, but she wanted to match the expected spirit of joy present in there and all she was feeling was disappointment. She looked towards the green and silver table searching for her brother, as soon as she saw him, she glanced an apologetic look at him wrapped in a small smile and then she finally sat at her house's table.

There was a lot of talking going on there, Hui-Ying didn't want to interrupt anyone in their tangled conversations, so she just kept listening and taking in whatever interesting information she could get. Her hears captured someone talking about the existence of different clubs and that called her attention towards the handsome white-haired boy sitting some few seats away from her. He seemed to be involved talking to another boy and Ying thought it was rude to talk over them, besides...the noise in the room would make it quite impossible to have a polite and nice conversation, she would need to almost scream at him to make it possible for him to hear her voice over all the excitement surrounding them. She made the decision to talk with him later, after all the commotion, when they could have a proper talk!

Taking the sorting hat off her head Alana sped walk quickly towards the Gryffindor table, the young girl swelled full of happiness. She could not wait to write back home to her parents and brother telling them what house she was sorted into. Alana's mother was Ravenclaw, but her father was sort into Gryffindor back in their younger years. So the young girl knew by heart her parents would be proud none the less. After all her brother was Ravenclaw back in his years at Hogwarts. So in the end Alana knew for a fact her parents be proud none the less. Sitting down on one of the benches near the middle of the long table. Alana glanced around at all of her Housemates smiling brightly. Her gaze went back to the sorting hat. Hearing the sorting hat shouting houses along with the Headmaster calling names. Eventually the sorting ceremony ended. Once the final student took their seat the Headmaster said a few words before food appeared in front of all of the students. Alana's blue eyes sparkled as her mouth started to water slightly at the new smells and delicious food surrounding her. The young girl started to pile food onto her plate. Piling food into her mouth feeling at peace. The young girl had no doubt in her mind that she would not enjoy her years here. In reality she was extremely excited to make new friends and begin her first school year making as many friends as she possibly could. Just the idea of making new friends made her almost burst with excitement.

The walk back to the Gryffindor table had been a long one. Cheers rumbled through the hall, congratulating Avorra for her sorting like so many others before her. Yet, she couldn't help but to feel almost disappointed. This was the last house she expected to get sorted into. She knew in her mind what house she wanted, but her heart betrayed her - or perhaps it was her mind that was deceiving her? Either way, she lacked the excitement her fellow first years had. Whether or not it was obvious was up to the perceptive observer.

Of all the overwhelming things at Hogwarts that were currently bothering her, it was the sense of loneliness that struck her the most. From leaving her parents, to the train ride here, to the Sorting Ceremony itself. She was so used to being home, so used to talking with her mother and passing the time with her neighbours, that it never quite occurred to her how friendless she truly was. She had no one here to turn to, to rely on. Perhaps now was the time to socialize and make new friends, yet Avorra was far too shy to make the first move.

Ha. 'House of the Brave', truly.

She took a seat at her new house table, as a plate of food appeared before her. It was... Crab legs?! Her absolute favorite! Her father used to cook the seafood on very special occasions. She could never forget the taste of crab meat - in fact, her mouth was clearly watering now. She wasted no time dining into the food. A small condiment of butter appeared on the side for her to dip the meat into. She was in absolute paradise. Although her Veela heritage could shine through almost any physical flaw, surely she was doing a discredit to her mother by leaving food smeared on her lips and cheek. Avorra paid no mind to her messiness in this moment - today was a momentous day, and now it was her time to feast!

Adriana walked into the Great Hall with a scowl etched onto her face. She had been sorted into Gryffindor, much to her dismay, and she couldn't help but feel bitter about it. She had grown up hearing stories of her mother's time in Slytherin, and she had always imagined herself following in her footsteps.

It was just a stupid hat after all, it couldn't truly know her but time is invadable till she has to reveal them her sortment, the mere idea of the look on their face sent chills down her spine.

taking a seat finally at the table, surrounded by her new housemates, she couldn't help but feel like an outsider. These were not her people, and she didn't belong here. She kept her distance, radiating a negative vibe as she silently picked at her food.

Adriana couldn't help but feel like she was wasting her time here. But she knew that she had to make the best of it, even if it meant suppressing her true nature and pretending to fit in with the Gryffindors. She was determined to prove to everyone that she was just as deserving of respect and recognition as anyone else, regardless of what house she had been sorted into.

As cicely walked towards her new house, her thoughts were quaking her head. Was she hallucinating? She didn’t know. Was that hat really speaking? If it was, she’d be a flying hedgehog. Maybe it spoke in her mind? Nevermind that. She needed to meet her house. Turning around, she saw many pupils sitting in a long table, with red robes. Red’s the colour, huh? she thought, settling down onto the long bench. She never really liked red. But she guessed she’d have to put up with it.

She leaned forwards, peeking over the people’s heads, watching the hat. It was speaking. Phew. She wasn’t hallucinating. She watched as the hat announced the houses for each of the pupils with wonder. It spoke. how come her mother never told her about this? She wondered if the houses represented anything, maybe. Her dark hazel eyes travelled to the table, searching her soon - to - be - house - friends to see any hint of friendliness. “Uhm.. hi!” she squeaked, waving at the people. Ahhhh.. was this working? What would she do… chat?

She began drumming her fingers along the table to a beat and gave a small hum before stopping, going red. What if she was interrupting something? So instead, she studied an interesting piece of lint on her sleeve.
