Truly, after the chaos that was last month, Bea was glad it was March. Between duelling, the broom race, classes and her family life Bea was slightly overwhelmed. Coming into the Library was her solace. The one place she could find peace and quiet. Not to say there wasn't heaps of other students milling about, studying and reading wherever possible, but on this crisp Saturday afternoon, near the beginning of Spring, it was relatively quiet. And she was glad for it.

Finding a nook, tucked away behind some of the study tables, Beatrice set out her things. Out from the brown leather satchel of hers came a new book, How to Train Your Dragon. The third one in the series. It had been a gift from her Nan just a couple of days ago. After that came, her journal and a quill and inkpot, something she was careful about not opening. The last time she had done so, in her dormitory, the ink had spilled all over her cream woollen jumper. Thank goodness for magic and house elves, because the next morning it was right as rain. But she grimaced in phantom pain. She didn't particularly want a repeat performance. The house elves of Hogwarts might just go on strike against her.

Settling down into one of the numerous comfy cushions in the nook, Bea opened her novel ad began to read.

It was a new year and a new place for Argahlon Vexius. A very beautiful place, one that he would soon call his home away from home, as some would say. The castle itself had its very own attraction just by the way it looked compared to what he was used to back home. The long stone halls, the antique furniture that was spread throughout almost every corner for any and all to rest when needed. Not only that, but even the way everyone dressed. After being sorted, everyone was given their house’s uniform, which was colorful in its own way. Argahlon himself was sorted into Gryffindor, so he was supporting the Red and Gold, along with the black cloak that seemed to drape down past his feet and drag along the ground behind him.

The young red head found himself entering the Library so that he could do some studying on the basics of what Beast to expect to see around Hogwarts and so on. His love for animals started at a very young age when his parents brought home two small calico cats. Both were females and they always loved to run and play around the house. Argahlon would normally get two small toy balls with stuff inside, so they would jingle when moved around. He would toss the ball down the hallway just to watch the cats chase after it and eventually bring it back to him so he could throw it again. This was the beginning of a bond with animals that piqued his interest, which is why he was trying to absorb as much information now as he could.

It took the young kid a lot longer than he thought to find the section on magical beasts, but he was more than happy when he did. The first book he noticed was about Kneazles, so he quickly pulled it down and continued to search through the many rows of books. The second book that caught his eye was the one focused on the Diricawl, which he once again reached up to pull the book free from the shelf and place them under his arm. Argahlon felt satisfied with his selections for now, so he turned on his heel and began to make his way to a nice, quiet spot to relax and study.

On his way to find a nook to relax in, he spotted someone out of the corner of his eye, which caused the young red head to turn and see who it was. Just as he stopped focusing on where he was going, Argahlon smashed his hip off the side of a desk and crashed to the ground. Both books slid across the floor and the kid hit the ground with a thud. “Ouch..” He said in a soft tone, while finally letting out a slight chuckle.

Engrossed in her novel, it was only when she heard a thud, did she look up. Some boy, further down next to the study tables had fallen over. Bea assumed it had been due to the tables, which wasn't really surprising. She'd knocked herself on them at least once or twice.

Placing her bookmark in her book, she placed down on the floor next to the cushions before getting up and heading over to the boy. Was he alright? Frowning slightly, she voiced her concern, "Are ye alright? Do ye need help?"

Noticing that the books that he had grabbed were strewn across the floor, Bea went to pick them before placing them on the guilty table. Glancing at the covers she could see a particular theme going on. Animals. It seemed to a popular theme amongst Hogwarts students she had noticed, if the last errand with the Care of Magical Creatures Professor had been any indication. It was probably better for him to grab them when he was actually standing and able to move, instead of incumbering him. Reaching a hand down as assistance, the red-headed lass went to help him up, if he took the assistance. "Ye not too hurt are you?" She smiled, glancing back at the books he had chosen. "Animals a particular favourite of yours?"

Argahlon could feel the entire room spinning as he tried to push up from the ground with both hands. It was at that moment he could see a pair of feet moving in his direction. The young red head quickly shook off what pain he felt from slamming almost face-first down onto the library floor and put on a smile despite the pain he was feeling in his chest. “I was walking and saw you from the corner of my eye, then boom! I hit the corner of the table and took a pretty nasty spill, but I think I will be just fine.” He replied, brushing the dirt free from the black robes that draped down past his feet.

The young red head noticed that the nice lady had picked up both of his books for him and placed them on the darn table that nearly knocked him for a big loop. “I appreciate you coming over and checking on me. Probably just a bruise, it will heal.” He replied and looked down at the books before nodding. “I’ve always had a soft spot for animals. I don’t know much about Magical Creatures, but that is why I am here! By the way, my name is Argahlon Vexius. First year, Gryffindor.” He spoke with excitement in his voice because he was happy to finally meet others.

Beatrice smiled at the boy, her lips moving in some feeble attempt to lighten the mood. That really must have hurt! "If ye sure? Ye can always go to the Nurse if ye need bruise paste..." She knew how to make it, but unfortunately didn't have any on her at the moment. At least the boy, Argahlon he'd introduced himself as, should be learning about it in classes. Which still, she thought ironically, didn't help in this exact situation.

She hovered around the table, making sure Argahlon was actually okay, and not just putting on a brave face in front of company. She'd lost count of how many times she'd done that. When he spoke of magical creatures she smiled for real. "Beatrice Langstreth, second year Ravenclaw. ice to meet you!" She nodded at his books. "They're a favourite of mine too! But not as much as plants! I could spend a whole day in a greenhouse and be happy." She sighed, fond memories of being outside on the Farm coming over her. "I live in Ellon, Scotland on a big farm. Where are you from?" She turned slightly at that, gesturing for Argahlon to join her on the comfy cushions where she had her book.

Argahlon couldn’t help but to smile at the kind gesture and words from the young Ravenclaw. He recently heard about bruise paste and its uses, but the red head began to shake his head lightly. “That’s very kind of you, but it will heal in no time. The fall didn’t hurt as bad as the corner of the table hitting the side of my hip bone.” He chuckled lightly at his own expense, while sliding the books towards himself, and picking them up with that same smile planted on his face. He really wanted to give that table a beatdown for the mishap, but he was too focused on the conversation that sparked up between the two.

When Beatrice introduced herself properly, Argahlon’s face lit up as she said Ravenclaw. This was his first interaction and conversation with someone not in his own house and that alone was very exciting to him. As Beatrice spoke about his books, then brought up her favorite as well, Argahlon nodded happily. He had yet to take any Herbology classes but the red head was hearing great things about it. Maybe that was a sign he should take some interest in the class. “Speaking of plants, my mom has a garden she always tended to. It was like her little get away, so I can see what you mean. Besides Magical Creatures, I also intended to learn about the Defense Against the Dark Arts. My father said it is a must.” He sighed lightly as he finished, but when Bea offered for him to join her, he once again nodded with a smile, while moving over to where the book was laying on the table.

The young boy placed both books on the table before finally taking a seat in the nook. It was then when he finally introduced himself to the Ravenclaw. “The name is Argahlon Vexius. First year, Gryffindor! I was born and raised in Croydon, England. Sort of a city boy, but kept to myself most of the time because I was picked on a lot for being smart. I never been on a farm, I bet it is really nice, right?” The excitement came back to his voice as he switched up the subject at the end of his introduction.

Bea smiled at Argahlon as she settled back down into the cushions on the floor. Much comfier than a wooden chair. Picking up her book, she placed it in her lap before giving Argahlon her attention. Her lips pursed as he waved off her offer. "If ye sure..."

She watched as Argahlon's face lit up talking about subjects. It was something of a favourite for her too. She nodded along as he spoke, although her nose wrinkled at the mention DADA. "It's alright. Far better than transfiguration. Charms and Herbology are my favourite!" She sighed happily at the thought of being able to go dig in some dirt later. It always reminded her of home.

"Living on a farm is amazing! I live there with me family. Me Da, Ma, Nan and wee sister. She's not old enough for Hogwarts. We have lots of goats and sheep and dogs. Me sister and I used to play all day out in the fields or down by the river in town. It was magical!" She stopped, feeling a red tint enter her cheeks. She'd been rambling on and on about her home, not letting him get a word in edge-wise. She turned the attention back on him. "What's Croydon like? I've never lived in England. Only been to London to shop at Diagon Alley, or Salford where my muggle grandparents live."

As a side note, you would have participated in Herbology classes IC by now since it March ^^

As the young redhead was sitting down on a small cushion, he reached up and pulled both books down from the table, and placed them on his lap gently with a smile growing when Beatrice spoke about their favorite classes. “Charms and Herbology are both a lot of fun! I feel that every class here is fun in its own sort of way.” He smiled in return, patting the books on his lap lightly while the two continued conversing. There was nothing more interesting to Argahlon, than meeting other people. Everyone was wired differently and Arg always thought it was a challenge to learn as much as he could from those he encountered.

When Beatrice went on about her family and the many things she enjoyed doing, he nodded happily with a smile growing on his face. Argahlon didn’t have any brothers or sisters, so he was always stuck to his mere imagination and studies to keep him busy. This was something he didn’t mind because every time he was with muggles, they always mistreated him and bullied him to no end. This is why the young boy always kept to himself and never attempted to make friends, but that was until he arrived at Hogwarts. Everyone Arg has run into was always so nice and welcoming, so he felt rather comfortable when at school.

Your family, they sound very nice! I can only imagine how much fun it was! As for Croydon, it is a huuuuge city! It feels like the lights could be seen from space, that’s how bright and wild they are. It's a merchant district, so there are many tourists coming around to see what the city has to offer. I do miss it at times because it’s home to me, but I also feel that being out in nature is my true calling.” He responded happily with a slight nod. The redhead looked around for a moment at the scenery around him in the library, taking in the majestic feeling he got just being in the enormous room.

His Father told him stories of Hogwarts and what to expect, but the castle was much more than the stories he was told. It was a place he could finally call home. It was at that moment when Argahlon put his attention back on Beatrice and smiled once more. “I’ve noticed a few sporting events during my first year here. Are you involved in any of them? I always wanted to join the Quidditch team!” He admitted with an excited tone of voice.

Bea listened intently to Argahlon talk about home, a wistful smile lighting up her face. She hadn't really been travelling, much as it was a dream of her to do so. The visitors last Fall had inspired her to go travelling. It was something her Nan had promised that they might do during Summer in a few years time. When she could really appreciate it all, Nan had said.

"Nature is definitely my calling too! I couldn't stand being in a tourist-y town all the time. Ellon is by the river so I escape there when I can." Hugging her won books closer to her, she smoothed down her skirt before continuing, "It's growing in size with muggles moving out there a lot more. I wish it would stay exactly as it is though."

At the mention of sports, Bea's face lit up with glee. Duelling was a passion of hers, and even though she wasn't on the team yet, she loved watching it. "Duelling. Definitely duelling. I'm not a fan of broom sports," her nose scrunched up in distaste at the thought of flying for fun. "I'd much rather b slinging spells at someone then flying around on a broomstick." She held her hands up, laughing lightly to diffuse her statement. "But each to their own! I'm not much of a flyer, much I presume you are?"

Argahlon had always enjoyed the company of others, especially when they were sharing stories back and forth of their past and the things they liked the most. Beatrice seemed to enjoy nature just as much as Arg did, which caused him to smile wide with a slight nod to follow. “Ever since I came to Hogwarts, I spent a lot of time by the lake to study, or to even hang out with some of the others I met. It's a nice change. My parents are very strict, so I always had trouble making friends, but it seems so much easier to do so here!” He admitted to the raven haired girl.

When Beatrice spoke of their interest in dueling Argahlon couldn't help but to smile with excitement. He never really had the chance to sit down and practice the spells learned in class, but the young red head could imagine just how much fun it could be. “Man, that does sound like a lot of fun. I'm currently on the waiting list for the Quidditch team. Which means, I can only wait patiently until a spot open for the Seeker position. I wouldn't say I am a great flyer, but let's just say that it came naturally to me.” He replied, while looking down at the book and flipping a few pages in the process.

Arg could remember the stories his father would tell him about the quidditch matches they witnessed in their time at the school, which is probably why the young red head enjoyed the sport so much. He finally looked back to Beatrice with a slight smile and spoke up to her in a soft tone. “Are you excited to graduate this year? Will you be staying here, or visiting home to see your family?” He asked, while glancing at the page of his book for a moment.

(Sorry for the long wait. Went through a bad injury and it put me in depression mode. But I am finally getting things in order)
