Alan watched as the weird love drama unfolded in front of his eyes and had to bite back a grin as he watched between Hanako and Julian, however he could not help but feel empathy toward the badger. But he also liked the bit of stray gossip and rumors, what with Hanako crushing on the pretty girl of the viper team at one point? He gave a small laugh and shook his head, trying his very best to stay out of their little quarrel, but who could judge him for reacting? That was his job was it not? Pea would attempt to hit Julian with a knockback jinx and just barely manage to catch him by the shoulder, though it looked painful enough! Julian of course would not let himself be pushed around by girl and returned the favor with a ruthless fire spell that caused the hem of the girls rope to catch on fire quite painfully. Nessie wasn't showing any mercy this time around either, choosing to go for the knockback jinx as well and caught her opponent skillfully, causing quite some pain Alan was sure. The flame that had been capturing her was finally small enough to disappear however and with the flame disappeared the last bits of lingering pain as Hanako veiled the Blazing Badgers side of the piste in a thick fog that would make it more troublesome to look out of than it was to try and gaze inside. Overall quite the eventful round, be it the spells or the drama that accompanied the duellists banter along the way.

[Spectator Thread, Day 1: Afternoon]

Well , she thought the duel have been doing quite alright, until now. Although she have to be partnered with the annoying Hanako, who somehow keeps showing up into her life unknowingly. She thought that they made a pretty good partners, whether she likes to admit it or not. But as suspected, another spells is shooting at her, but this time she was just a tad too distracted.

Fire came ablaze unto her robe as also a familiar knock-back jinx painfully made her stumble. The white haired groan in pain as the fire also seared into her skin. She patted some of it but some still caught in her robe. The sting from the jinx and the fire spell have made her slightly dizzy, if this is keep happening, she would pass out soon enough. Panic filled her head, but her face still looks calm and fierce. With a slight pant, Pea shot Julian with the same knockback jinx. Thankfully it hits him, it was not right at where she wanted to but for her condition now, she is still quite proud of it. “Hah! Take that!” The white haired still taunt even though she looks like she is about to pass out at any time.

“We both know that is not true, Hanako. Stop lying to yourself. They are obviously slowly falling in love with me. I mean you did also have a crush on me not long ago.”

However she did it, Pea managed to perturb him into a few seconds of silence and disbelief. Before he could put in her her place, a gentle laugh coming from the moderator had him paying attention to the same person he had attempted so hard to ignore since the first round. “ Hey! Stay as uninterested in the duel as your furball, there “ he snapped. Somehow looking at the demon spawn was easier now that the stupid cat didn’t laugh at him.

“ And you “ he turned back to Pea. “ Considering how quickly I fell out of my .. ‘crush’ for you, I think Prichard ought to take my advice more seriously, hm~?”. Oh how he really wanted to explain that he was only pretending to be in love with her only because he was:

a) bored

And

b) trying to get over his actual ‘crush’

He had assumed Pea would know that by now, or he had severely overestimated her deduction skills. Perhaps she was deliberately leaving that part out to mock him further. Regardless, if he said anything now, it only looked like an excuse.


"That's--that's not what happened at all," Pritchard’s adamant protest against the idea only encouraged Hanako to tease him. Nothing like a fun reaction to lift up his spirits.

The round that proceeded them was.. Unexpected. His spell was perfect, obviously. The fog surrounded the Hufflepuffs, once again drowning them in thick smoke.

However, despite the brilliance of his spell, the spells that hit Fowl perfectly had him taking a step back from her partner. For just a split second, his eyebrows furrowed in concern. But that was only before his brain registered that Fowl was the one that got hit. And so he proceeded to laugh.

“ Hah! Oh yes, I too would love to send damage spells to my crush in hopes that they would notice me. Nothing like a bit of fire and flipendos to show my eternal devotion for them. Still think they’re head over heels for you and not me, Fowl?~”

Alan was just slightly confused about how Slytherin seemed to be all bark and no bite this round, as both Hanako and Pea didn't actually do anything except talk. Were they truly this confidence in themselves to give the badgers such an opening or had they gotten so caught up in the little quarrel that they had forgotten to actually do something at all? Anyway it was not as if the Hufflepuffs knew what to do with this big advantage, too handicapped by the fog that had settled around them and obstructed their vision to make both Julian and Nessie miss Pea with theor combo of knockback jinxes.

[Spectator Thread, Day 1: Afternoon]

Okay, to be fair it was funny. And it deserved a good laugh too. Which was why he was momentarily distracted from the actually duel. It seemed that Fowl went through the same thing. Thankfully nothing brutal happened for this round. The two spell intended for Pea just whooshed right past her, all thanks to the powerful fog he conjured. “ A little bit to the right, Swansea! You almost got her~” he encouraged the Hufflepuff with a laugh of his own.

That laugh however became a bit strained when the fire continued to burn Fowl. Whether it be her clothes or her skin, there was no way she would be happy about it. He was perhaps a bit unnerved by her …resilience. He wasn’t fond of this spell either, but he had at least done something. Was what he said really enough to take her mind of the real issue here? Or was she holding in her urge to hex him instead? Nevertheless, she looked…weak. Like he could sneeze and she’d be out of the match. He refused to believe the concern that furrowed his frows was concern for her. Surely, it was concern that they would actually lose this match. “ You know, I’ll be more than happy to help you out~” he paused with a familiar sneaky grin appearing on his face. “ If you say ‘please’~”

She looked like she was about to fall over. Surely, she would put her pride aside. Maybe.

Even in her last breath, the white haired would never beg for help, especially from someone like Hanako Tone. Although she knows herself that she desperately need one. They all can see that the girl just a spell away until she is carried to the hospital wing, but she still refuse to back down from a fight. With all the strength she have left, she tried to keep her head high, and stand straight, ready to do what she needed to do. The thought of losing to another Hufflepuff is just too embarrassing to be ignored. Even on her last breath she would never gave up her pride.

Ignoring some of the word Hana said as she is just trying to keep what is left of her strength. “It is obvious that they are only targeting me because they know I post a bigger threat- my presence obviously keep distracting them~” said the part veela with utmost confidence. Another round passed but she was just trying to stay conscious that she didn’t do anything as another two spells coming at her. Thankfully both spell misses her, not thankfully, it was probably because of the fog that Tone conjure, but she choose to ignore that detail. “See, now they can’t even hit me again, I am unsure if it is the lack of their skill or they just misses purposely so they could still be grazed with my beautiful presence.” Pea smirked although she is still wincing from the little pain the fire still left around her.

At this point, Nessie wasn't even surprised that her spell missed. Most of her spells missed, if she even got the casts to work at all.

Admittedly, she wondered if she'd even know if her spell hit with all the fog at this point. She couldn't even be sure if the commentary from the Slytherin side of the piste was genuine, or perhaps if it was all some kind of reverse psychology? She had no way of knowing, given that she couldn't really see much of what was going on over there.

Either way, she would respond politely, because that's what Hufflepuffs did, right? "Thank you!" Nessie obliged, although she was quite convinced that the advice had to be a trap. After all, surely nobody would volunteer the location of their partner.
