Making Marshal

A letter was delivered to a Marshal Mozor and Jack Warren the day before they boarded the Hogwarts Express with intention to return home for Easter holiday. A holiday that Pride did not subscribe to, of colored eggs and confections delivered per muggle tradition by an anthropomorphic rabbit. It was the least of all of the holidays tradition or marketing demanded, but it was also one of those rare opportunities for the former Slytherin to return to London. His relationship with his parents were strained, as were his bonds with his extended failure - a gossamer thin veil of tolerance and social obligation.
His patience had worn thin as his cousins slowly earned the favor of their patriarch. As his own slowly festering brood of 'legitimates' if by only the technicality of blood latched themselves onto the family vault and siphoned away the wealth and promise of their extraordinary family. Whereas he did everything right. He made the right bonds, he put on the dog and the pony show that the media demanded. He was the 'good son' that his cousin could and would never be, even if rumors swirled that through dark magic something of his felled cousin remained in his world. Stubborn even in death, he would hope it was just 'rumors' perpetuated by the have-nots in their ranks. The failures and the do-nothings.
He wanted, no he demanded Thaddeus' consent to return to Hogwarts. To stay and to be the face and the man that would carry out their family legacy with dignity and of course Pride. He was denied, it was unsafe. That bitch betrayed them. Killed one of them. The very same bitch that was allegedly 'taken care of' a year ago. The same bitch that there was nothing left of but a jar full of bits. Still, to the other side of the world he was sent for his 'safety' and to grow their name in the Asian continent. A place he did not care for, steeped in tradition and every one of them looked alike except his gregarious roommate who he was pretty sure was trying to date him. He just was not entirely sure what he said half the time. Even if the country was of interest, there was no end-game in Japan. It was just an excuse to keep him out of the way, his safety be damned.
And he was about to prove that. That the school was not the risk, it was the wizards themselves that were dangerous, reckless and violent. His 'victim' none other than @Jack Warren and this other guy whose name he struggled to place. Neither an actual threat to him, their pedestrian standard and aesthetic made them more common than a goth girl in Slytherin. There was no substance or class, just a face and a name for their mother's future disappointment.
All that was required was a lie.
A lie and a draw. Boys, well boys like them don't really think... they just act.
Jackie,
Looking to spend some quality time with my girlfriend. But first, I felt that we should resolve our 'issues.'
Mathias Pride
He felt that the moniker would antagonize Jack. That the heart would also. That if the letter was shared, that Winnie would merely be endeared where Warren would read between the lines. He would be a fool to think that Jack would be civil. In fact, that was the point.
So Mathias would wait for the boy and perhaps whoever came with him in tow (@Marshal Mozor) to this semi-public venue. That was the point, to draw them out and to needle them until they lashed out. To demonstrate their madness. He had his doubts they would have Harper in tow, no... he knew exactly how 'dangerous' this was. They were not going to want her to see it. To rightfully hate them. No, that was why he was going to send her a letter, he just wanted to be sure that she arrived 'too late.'
Dinner someplace in London. A check to a pretty little shop where she could get herself something 'nice' so she could be plenty late for their date. He had no intention of taking her out to dinner, she would be a fretting mess in an Emergency wing by the time Jack got through with him again. Shattering whatever relationship he might have salvaged. It was a simple, cruel plan on the surface but he had a bigger game than getting Jackie-boy out of the way.
