Closed Exploring the Corridors...

"Pleasure to meet you, Yuri, and welcome to the tour group. Do ask any questions that you should have along the way and I will not accept tips of any kind at the end of today's route. Ready? Alright then," he said, still in tour guide mode. He motioned for both of the first years to follow him and wondered if perhaps others might join. Sure, it was somewhat silly, but it was also downright fun and allowed some first years to get to know each other a little more and hopefully like him enough to come to him for any future help and guidance that they might need. Simon was always looking to make new friends.

"So you've already experienced the hustle and bustle of the corridors here at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Many, although not all, are adorned with arched ceilings and lined with either a row of suits of amour or portraits. If any of them should move or strike up a conversation, take the time to say hello. You'll never know when you might need their assistance."

"These hallways can get quite busy during class change, so be sure to hold tight to your stack of books or don't allow your pet to wander. You might just lose them. Also, if you're lucky, you'll discover some of the hidden passageways that might serve as a a bit of a shortcut. I know of only three myself." But he was proud of that. There were some students, even in his own year, that didn't know any!

"Anywhere in particular you two would like to go?" he said as he paused. "If we should take the stairs, Ben is quite right. I'm not sure that they'll kill you but the staircases can be downright tricky. Leads a new take on mind the gap," he used the expression that the London Underground used, being a native and all.

"I have to agree with Ben." she said and grinned. The girl indeed thought that the speech Simon gave was too formal and too funny in a good way. He was quite humorous and is so like a handsome prince.

Ayuna followed Simon down the hallways, listening to his exaggerated speech. For the first few minutes, the girl tried to act serious and hide her giggle, but soon give up. It was just so hard to keep a straight face when Simon is talking like some kind of highly animated tour guide. When he moved on to the part about not accepting tips, that's it, Ayuna busted up. She had to admit the whole thing was sort of silly, but so fun in the same way.

Listening quietly to Simon's speech, Ayuna used the time and gazed at her surroundings. She had never really paid any attention to where she was, but when she did, the girl was amazed. The corridors were indeed, decorated with arched ceilings and lined with a row of suits of armor. They were actually moving! "Wow!" the girl gasped, "That's amazing!" She made a mental note of holding tight to books and not allowing Hardy to wander.

Upon bearing the word 'secret', Ayuna grew excited. Her pupils grew larger and her attention was caught. "Secret passages?" she asked with growing interest, Could you show us some?" The girl was curious and wanted to explore the secret parts of the castle more than ever now.

There was the one that led to Honeydukes but as a prefect he couldn't really introduce that one to two first-years and probably keep his prefect-hood. Which, that was quite an unfortunate situation since the passage to Honeydukes was the most amazing of all of them. No, better to probably first show them one that wouldn't lead to anyone breaking the rules like the one that an upperclassman showed him that led from the corridors to the abandoned classroom.

That one wouldn't get them in trouble, nor would it get him in trouble, and it was quite useful. The corridors could get pretty heavily trafficked during class change, especially during certain times of the day. This particular shortcut could let you dodge a crowd, slip into the abandoned classroom, and then exit there to get ahead of the pack.

"My advice to you both is to explore the castle as much as you can - attempt to shake the hand of a suit of armor, check behind tapestries to see if they are stone walls or an entrance way." And he led them, glad too that this particular path would keep clear of stairwells since Ben was no longer a fan at the moment. Simon knew the first year would get over it soon, but it was still fresh on his mind.

He led the other two, down the corridor, to the right, down another, turn left. Then, just as he had said to check behind tapestries, he took hold of a dark red and gold one that resembled something of the Gryffindor house, and pulled it over to the side, revealing a darkened archway. "If you'll follow me..." he said and smiled to them both before disappearing into the darkness.

It would be a pretty straightforward path that would eventually led them to the abandoned classroom and he explained how this could be used as a shortcut to get to one of the other main corridors and led them back out there.
