Quidditch Slytherin vs Hufflepuff - Winter 2023

Howard tightened the clasp on his gloves and repositioned his padding. With a deep breath the young man would refocus his mind to the task at hand. He had been too caught up in what the rest of his team was doing and his performance had suffered because of it. Instinct and skill took over as he set off on his broom once more. This round would be his as he snatched every quaffle up for grabs and with Koko elsewhere on the pitch, it was fifty more points for Hufflepuff. Yet it almost meant little as he saw Dan get sling shotted towards the snitch, but fortunately for the Flying Badgers, he just missed it by inches. Howard became a bit discouraged as two of his team mates fell, but all they could do was to keep trying. To the very end they would give it their all!

She hit them with her bludger, well she thought in any case. Rita and Atlas were defending and she heard the dull noise of lead hitting flesh and wood before it bounded away towards Quinn, the metaphorical broad side of a barn. The small sphere of metal would barely harm the part giant, a frustration that left her seething inwardly. By merely existing her was not only stronger than she would ever hope to be but also more durable. She wondered if she hit only Atlas. Atlas seemed a bit damaged unlike Rita (full health?), not that it mattered greatly when the two of them were knocked off the broom by Tyranni.

They would fall but they would not be taken out, the two of them caught in what was obviously a defensive game. Two defenders, two on save duty... They seemed to only care about getting the snitch and Ethen was getting close. It was going to likely be another defensive round unless he risked it all with a spiral dive. She would let out a sigh. It was a close game, even if there was a 70 point difference in the score. They just needed to get the snitch, Dan was trailing right behind him... either that or take Ethen down, she just needed one clear shot.

Atlas would take the hitbut It would be a stunning game if they somehow pulled a win out of this after their slow start. She was somehow optimistic as she *thwacked* the bludger with the heart of her bat. It made a loud cracking noise, and while she half expected the bit of wood to break, to date she has not busted up a bat.

She would look over at stupid, handsome Jack and let out a huff of annoyance. Why couldn't she use her bat on people? Make them less pretty and distracting... easy, the food lady would be mad at her and she did not like it when the white haired lady got sad. Pretty sure 'mad' was not something she could do, mad would be better. Mad was always better than sad.

There not much going on in terms of action above the pitch and in the sky. Erin still is Erin. This means she has done what she knows best which is whacking people out of their brooms like pests. Cash's green eyes watched as the metal sphere flew toward both Reid and Su with such force but not enough to knock them out of their shared broom.

It was Tyranni who initially blatch Emrys but somehow managed to knock both Reid and Su out of their broom. The fourth-year Beater almost let out a shout of giddy when they saw the Badger fall but it seems their other teammate was ready to catch their falling comrades."Darn it!"They grumbled under their breath.

It would be another story if both Reid and Su could be taken out of the equation. Cash still had a job to do. Which is to protect the Cloud Cobra barefooted team captain, Dan Palmer. Their eyes train to where Dan is situated and at the same time keep an eye to both the little menace of a ball called Bludger and whoever wanted to come Dan's way.

But nothing happened. No bludger coming their way or no one about to send an attack toward Palmer. From where Cash astride their broom, they could see Chen alley-ooping Palmer as Palmer get his eyes on the golden fluttering nugget which is the Golden Snitch.

It seems luck was not on the Slytherin side since the golden snitch managed to get out from Palmer's grasp. "So close,"Cash whispered to themselves. "Come on, Palmer, catch that snitch"They uttered. Palmer needs to catch the snitch since up to this point the Cloud Cobra is trailing 70 points from the Badger.

They need a miracle and miracles happen to the believer. And for this match Cash dare to say that they believe and hope the Slytherin team will win the whole game and be one step closer to the ultimate prize which is the Quidditch Cup.

After enjoying a bit of time helping to run up the score, Ethen turned his attention back to the real task at hand. The snitch was still on the loose and he knew each passing moment would put his team in increasing danger and gave the other team additional chances to catch the snitch.

With Atlas and Rita watching over him, Ethen felt a bit confident that they would be able to keep him safe. It was put to the test sooner than he would have liked at the attacks toward him quickly began. Ethen watched as his defenders tanked two separate attempts before being hurdled from the broom. Distracted by the site of his girlfriend and teammate being tossed from the broom, Ethen took a wrong angle when trying to get the snitch. Cursing to himself, he refocused his mind. Taking a deep breath, Ethen narrowed his eyes to resume his chase.

Keeping her broom steady as she moved into position to keep up with Ethen, Atlas kept her eyes and head moving for any sign of trouble. The longer a game went, well she knew that the snakes would be more likely to start getting aggressive and that usually meant blasting Ethen out of the sky.

It didn't take long before Atlas' thoughts were confirmed as a bludger careened into her broom. The shock made it temporarily difficult to fly but she had her focus enough to see the blatch attempt heading directly for Ethen. Darting forward to intercept, Atlas grimaced at the sudden fearsome impact. She suddenly felt as though she was falling an opened her eyes to watch the ground rapidly approaching before suddenly being swept onto her teammate's broom. Exhaling a breath she had been holding, Atlas let out a slightly relieved chuckle. It seemed she wasn't quite out yet.

This must be declared by the Keeper if either of these free actions are to be utilized.

Harder to hit on average, 10% on auto-dodge chance that anything that targets this wizard automatically misses. This is rolled separate from the attack roll.

xxxOkay, how did that even happen? Maggie was scratching her head, but she couldn’t seem to figure out how on earth she could go from doing incredibly well to losing every single effort to grab the quaffle and score.

The young Slytherin groaned with each ball that soared through the hoops at the other side, fist balled in frustration. With her perceived ‘fame’ came the characteristic irritation at not making exactly famous moves.

Besides, Hufflepuff was now way ahead.
