Breakfast with an old friend

Pandora entered the Great Hall wearily. It was the weekend and she couldn't be said to be herself, but she could sober up better than the previous days.
Ravenclaw sat down at her desk and looked up. The weather seemed off. Looks like I can go out after breakfast, she said to herself.
She took some of the chopped carrots on the table and wearily put them in her bag. Her bunny loved them. So she was going to get a little too much that some students were looking at him. Her face reddened slightly.
Meanwhile, the owls were coming. Normally, no one other than her family would write him packages or letters. But she was surprised when a midnight blue bronze package arrived on her desk with the owl. The owl was a black owl with white spots. They didn't look like school owl.
When the owl left, he shook the package a little. It was a small package. She decided to open it and opened it carefully. Inside was a necklace and a note.

She paused for a moment when he read this note. Then he looked at the necklace. She couldn't remember her mother wearing such a necklace.I think it will suit you like your mother.

[265 words]Weekends to the young Gryffindor boy meant that he could just lounge around in his day clothes, which was a major win for him, he’d say. Jay didn’t really like the uniform they had to wear, but it wasn’t the worse. He just didn’t think red was his color. When it came to wearing something, he’d much rather yellow. Tugging on his duck shirt that was a size larger than him, he looks around the pretty empty hall. Of course it would be empty. People slept in, and others just don’t eat breakfast. Or could be studying. He didn’t really know nor care.
Then the owls came in. Jay would honestly be surprised if he got anything, due to the fact that his folks didn’t really use owls on a regular basis. Noticing a girl that looked strangely familiar, he walks over to the table. Right! She’s the one he sits next to in Potions, right? The one who spilt ink all over her parchment. What was her name again? Dora, right? He trodded over, sitting next to her. Who cares if there were assigned tables for the houses? He certainly didn’t. If he wanted to sit with his Ravenclaw friend, he would do so.
“Hey, Pandora! It’s me, Jay! Remember me?” He asked with his usual large grin, an aura of confidence around him. If it wasn’t her, which he was reasonably sure it was, then he guesses he can just make a new friend. That’ll be fun. He looks at the food for a second. No, he couldn’t eat breakfast today. Maybe tomorrow.

Pandora is interrupted from her thoughts by the voice of a familiar child. She quickly took the necklace in her right hand and quickly put the note in her hand. She remembered looking at the boy. She had sat next to him in her first potions lesson and accidentally spilled ink on her own scroll. She replied with a smile.
"Hey. It was Jay, right? Yeah I remember. You sat next to me in my first potions lesson. How are you? I'm just asking out of curiosity. Isn't it forbidden to sit at another table?"
She had asked out of curiosity. Didn't know if it was banned. When the metal of the necklace in her hand started to burn, she quickly threw it on the table. Looking at the necklace, it looked normal.
"Can you help me put on the necklace?"
Yes, she said that. I think she wanted him to wear a necklace. Then a question came to mind. She asked curiously
"How are you doing with your classes? Is your lessons good?"
Ok, after asking this question, she realized that the question was bad. So it was a little quiet. She looked at her necklace. She took some pumpkin juice from the table

[253 words]Forbidden? Probably. Or maybe not. Perhaps it was just tradition that the other houses didn't go to opposing houses tables. Or was it the common rooms that were forbidden to outsiders? Not that he actually cared. When it came down to it, if he were to get detention for going to another house's table, he would continue to go to said table. Rather sit with someone he likes and get detention then sit with people he hates. "I'm guessing its just tradition to stay at your own table, but I'm the kind of guy who makes new traditions. I'll do whatever I want, as long as it's in reason."
Put on.. what necklace? Seeing the one that was thrown on the table as soon as he had sat down, he picked it up and turned it in his hands a couple of times. It was nice, but he didn't really think it fit the girl next to him. "Could I try it on first? It looks really cool! I'm sure it'll look great on you too, but I just gotta see if it would fit me." He didn't trust this at all. Something was off with the necklace. The problem was he didn't KNOW what the problem was.
Maybe it was the way it was thrown on the table that kinda told him that. Maybe it was just a gut feeling. "Oh, classes? I'm geting okay grades, but its not great. I know why I wasn't put in Ravenclaw, not that I wanted to."

Pandora raised an eyebrow. She could read in Jay's eyes that she didn't trust the necklace, but she was so curious how it would look so she agreed and put it on. She burst into laughter as soon as he put it on. She spoke with a smile.
"It suits you very well. It's yours if you want. That's how everyone falls in love with you."
She lost her balance because she laughed a little too much and fell off the chair. A few children noticed that they were starting to stare at her. She quickly sat back down. She was happy to hear that his studies were good.
"It's good that you are doing well in your studies. My grades are low for the average Ravenclaw. But I'm trying to be good and I'll work harder."
She spoke very faithfully. She was starting to get bad in class these days. She was in a bad situation these days as she lost her mother. That's why some girls were making fun of him. But now she would recover.
"Are you used to the Gryffindor house? Are they treating you well?"
She spoke with a mixture of apprehension and curiosity. She's happy to see that he's used to it.

[301 words]The boy chuckled nervously at the raised eyebrow, looking to the side a bit. Was he that transparent? He didn’t think so, but it seemed his Ravenclaw friend knew what he was thinking. It sent a shiver down his spine slightly. But at the go ahead, he clipped the necklace around his neck. He will admit, it looked pretty on him. He brightened up, laughing along Pandora. Mostly just because he found it funny that the reaction to him putting on a necklace am was so large. She even fell off the chair, it was so funny. He didn’t know why, though.
“Really? Woah, thanks. It’s really cool. You’re a great friend, Pandora.” Jay chose to ignore the end comment, but he did go a little red before shaking away the blush. He was embarrassed that anyone would even suggest that. Did he seriously have secret admirers? He didn’t think he was all that in terms of looks. He made sure of it. Plus, he had a scar. Who would want a guy with a scar? Not anyone at this prestigious school, no doubt. With the fancy robes and the house mumbo-jumbo, it was chaos. To him, anyways. He’d much rather anything other than school.
“How is your grades low? Well, ya seem like the smar’est kid here. Both good at makin’ friends an’ and all that academic stuffs.” The Gryffindor cleared his throat, trying to fix his speech. Pandora was really formal when it came to talking, and he didn’t want to make a fool out of himself. But speech was not something that came easily to him, even in times of need. “Gryffindor is fine. A bit more a’tive at nigh’ then I had thought ‘ey would be, but fine. I really don’t get all the sortin’ into houses stuff..”

Pandora blushes slightly after what Jay said. She needed this word these days. She smiled at Jay. She felt better, but felt the need to explain the situation.
"I'm so confused these days. That's why I couldn't focus on my studies that much. There are some people who take advantage of this and make fun of me. I don't understand why people are like this?"
While saying that, she was looking at the table. Her eyes were elsewhere. She had never met such bad people. Or maybe he didn't see it because he didn't go to the city that much in his life before school. It's been a long time since I thought about these
"How nice. I thought the same for Ravenclaw, but the common room is very good when it comes to lectures."
The common room was lucky it didn't get that much sunlight. She just couldn't get that close to where the windows were. It was happening elsewhere at that time though.
"Aren't you hungry? You didn't eat anything."
She handed me some salami bread. She didn't want he to be hungry. She wasn't that hungry. So she was just looking at the food. She didn't want to eat that much these days.
