Interview with a Shark IV
Ancient Runes. What a positively, abhorrently useless subject. It always amazed Magda greatly how much time the Wizarding World wasted looking backwards. In her day, she'd not seen a soul point in the class and the same remained true today. Still, fresh blood was worth her while, even if Miss Adelaide Ayers would undoubtedly prove as dull as the subject she'd devoted her efforts towards. It hardly mattered that she was interesting, so long as she gave Magda something to use.
The classroom was located on the bloody Sixth floor, and after a miserable climb up the ungodly number of stairs, Magda arrived, slightly harried, loose tendrils of blonde hair curling by her ears. Adjusting her blouse, she stepped into the room and cleared her throat. The ginger-haired professor was at her desk, resolved, it seemed, to appearing as though she had something of worth to be working on. Whatever that could be, Magda couldn't imagine and could even less bring herself to care…
“Miss Ayers? Good day to you! Magda Fleischer, lead investigative journalist for the Prophet.” Stepping further into the room, her eyes shifting briefly around, taking in the many parchments of odd, probably made up shapes and pictograms, before she extended her hand, smiling politely, “I've been asked to conduct some interviews on the new staff members. Do you have a moment?”

Interview with a Shark IV
Adelaide had, of course, been warned of the incoming interview with The Prophet. She had not, however, been warned about the woman in general. Adelaides only experience with reporters was the very little time she spent with them after the release of Runes in the 18th Century, a historical book she co-wrote. But because of her co-authors already generated fame, most of the questions went to him whereas Adelaide sat in the background. The reporters at that time seemed nearly as interested in the subject as she and her boss since they were reporting for historical magazines. So, Adelaide did not really have experience with reporters of the public.
The woman, as she entered unannounced, introduced herself as Magda Fleischer. A name, Adelaide would grimace at behind closed doors. Which, unfortunately, was not the case here, as the woman left the office door open after she entered. Adelaide might have sighed if she had less control. However, control was something the Dhampir took great pride in, and so when the woman entered, Adelaide grinned a friendly grin, her brown eyes sparkling. A nervous color.
She stood to greet the woman and accepted the reporters handshake with her own strong one, she wanted to make it clear Adelaide would be in charge here, despite how the other woman may feel. She also felt that Miss Ayers was an appropriate title for this situation and so she left it at that as she motioned for Magda to take a seat in one of the two chairs on the other side of Adelaides large Walnut wood desk. "Fantastic to meet you, Miss Fleischer, please take a seat. Welcome to my office." She would sit as Magda did.
Strewn about her desk were many papers as Adelaide continued to plan lessons for her upcoming classes. She had the large job of redoing the already existing lessons from the previous teacher as Adelaide decided she did not agree with the formers teaching style. If Magda knew anything of runes, she may be able to decipher a few here and there as the papers were littered with all kinds of runes. If not, though, the papers would not hold much information for the woman. Adelaide began to shuffle the papers into a few piles so the desk wasn't nearly as cluttered.
The office itself was very obviously a Rune orientated room, as the walls held many engraving of different Runes as well as holding up a few moving portraits of famous Spell and Rune inventors that Adelaide often enjoyed chatting with.
Adelaide was, however, ready to begin this interview so she could determine what information the reporter wanted, as well as quickly get back to her work, as she was most certainly swamped. "I am more than happy to speak with you today, how can I help you? What kind of article are you writing?"

Settling into her seat, Magda smiled politely, watching with curiosity as the professor began shifting papers here and there, organizing her space in a way that gave the sense of defending one's territory... Amusing, certainly. No doubt, she was quite young, and unaccustomed to such a powerful position. It was probably in her nature to play at being an alpha female. That, or she was uncomfortable, and organization was something of a comfort-niche. Were Magda the sort to care about others, she might've been inclined to reassure Adelaide it was necessary... She was half tempted to say as much, if only to put the woman off her guard.
"Oh, nothing too extravagant. Just getting to know the new professors, new headmaster. So many changes, in such a short time. People tend to get a bit nervous, and the Prophet thought it might ease minds to have a bit more information on the lot of you. Particularly after last years... incident. Terrible thing. That poor boy. Any idea what happened to him? Not for the article, of course... just... curious minds. Concern."
Digging into her purse, she pulled out a quill and parchment, before looking up again, "As for on the record... Could you tell me a bit about yourself? Where did you learn so much about these... runes? How does it strike you, being hired at your age? Does it seem odd to you... having so young a faculty? Do you think everyone is quite capable? Having so little experience? What are the other professors like? The headmaster?"

Interview with a Shark IV
She was just a child, of course, when Adelaide attended the Beauxbatons school, but she could not remember a reporter ever coming to the school. Perhaps they did, in a specific capacity with the staff members, but she couldn't remember reading much about the school in public papers. However, Hogwarts did have a tendency to draw attention, and apparently, danger, and so maybe public reporting was common and uneventful.
Magda, though, quickly got to her point. The incident with the Ben Boy from last year was certainly disconcerting. It even worried Adelaide, as she was sure it worried upper administration as well. It was not a subject, though, that Adelaide was about to disclose to a stranger in the school. The invegstigation with the Ministry was still ongoing and the perpatrator had yet to be caught. If Magda was asking Adelaide, she was sure she had not gotten any answers from the Ministry or the Headmaster, and the Runes Professor was not about to reveal information.
She smiled polietly at the woman. "Of course the events of last year were unfortunate, Hogwarts never intends for our students to come into any level of harm. But, it happened, and we are working from it. However I cannot give you any additional information on the events nor the boy. I'm sure you can appreciate the family's wish for privacy in this time." She concluded, with a pointed tone. Hopefully that was enough to let Magda know she would not giving in at this time.
The reporter seemed to bounce back, and entered the 'official' interview, signaled by her now present ink and paper. Though Adelaide was not convinced any mention of Ben would have been privy to the two of them. But the woman continued with her questions. These next ones seemed simple enough, but rather quickly, Adelaide furrowed her brow. She was a bit annoyed at the woman now who seemed to be questioning her right to teach, and teach this specific subject, citing Adelaides young age as a factor.
This woman, of course, would not know, nor would Adelaide correct her. The Dhampir may be young for her race, but she was solidly middle aged for a human, as she was pretending to be at this school. She had no official fake age that the public would know, they would simply be going off her looks, which placed her in her mid to late 20s, according to humans. It annoyed her, though, that Magda had the gall to accuse her of not being well qualified for the job.
She retorted quickly. "I can assure you, Miss Fleischer, that I am more than qualified to teach my students. In my past I have been in the teaching profession before, I taught lauguage to children, as I am fluent in seven. I have also studied ancient runes my entire life, and co authored a book about the subject while I was assistanting a famous historian in Spain. Feel free to look it up, Runes During the 17th Century, you will find it very well received." She defended herself harshly. If Adelaide was proud of anything, it was her accomplishments in life, of which she thought she had many.
As for the rest of the woman's questions, Adelaide attempted to defend her co-workers as well as herself. She had not reason to suspect that they were any worse at their jobs than Adelaide was at hers, and she had heard nothing but good things from her students about them. The Headmaster as well, was someone Adelaide held in high regard. He was a magnificent man, boss and wizard, who held Adelaides secret with respect.
"Headmaster Ackerly, as well as the former Headmaster, are both incredible leaders who hired the best of the best for the students of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Every teacher here, belongs here and is acceptably qualified. Although I do not know my colleagues specific histories myself, I am sure they would be more then willing to share their successes with you, if you choose to ask them. No parent who has a child attending this school should worry about their son or daughters education, they are all in very good hands." She finished, slightly ranting at the woman. As she waited for a response, she folded her hands on top of the desk, clearly defensive and aggitated.

Interview with a Shark IV
The woman continued 'writing' with her magical quill. Very flamboyant, Adelaide thought, to just refuse to write the words yourself. The Professor was quickly tiring of the woman.
She attempted to wait for the woman's next question. But the fancy reporter just continued to look over the information her magic quill was copying onto a peice of scrolled parchment. Why did she need to scrutinize the writing so much? It was being magically done, and therefore would not be incorrect, and hadn't the woman just heard Adelaide's response? Surely that would be what the quill was scratching down.
Adelaid ehuffed, filling the silence with her annoyed breath. The woman did not look up. Adelaide broke her eyes away from the perfectly scultped face and rested her glance on her desk once more. It was, indeed, covered in papers and tasks she really needed to finish doing. Coming in to Hogwarts so late last year, gave her little time to catch up on her class and her predecessor's workings. She honestly did not have time for more of Magda's clearly prying, insulting and inappropriate questions.
Sighing once more, a bit loudly, Adelaide decided she had enough. Standing, her chair speaking annoyingly behind her, she leaned against her desk, fingertips holding onto the desk top. "Now, Miss Magda, I am so sorry to do this but unfortunately I have a ton for work I need to get going. It seems your questions are finished and if not I'm afraid there is not much else I can say on the matter. It it about time for you to be going. I know you have many more Staff Members to get to." She concluded.
Without waiting for the reporter's objections on the matter, she quickly ushered the woman out, magically bumping her out of her chair and opening the door for the woman on the way out, quickly shutting it before Magda had the chance to fully react.
Sighing in relief, Adelaide then went on with her work and her day.
