They were going with someone else already, plus I didn't think they liked me back in the first place. Apparently the feeling actually was mutual, but they thought I was disinterested and hence semi-pursued a relationship with someone else. Until the ball.
I don't know, I feel awful, but at the same time I'm frustrated. They were acting like they were the victim, when they were stringing both of us along and just led to confusion on all ends.
I'm sorry your valentine's ball didn't work out for you. At least the food was good, right?

Yup. My first ever ball, and it ended terribly. Might be my first and last, I am inclined to say.
I mean, that doesn't invalidate your feelings. Your situation still sucked. Mine was just a lot more complicated and messy.
Yeah. I just realized the only thing I ate that night were some cookies, with a glass of punch. I was too preoccupied to eat any of the actual food. And that was, like, half the reason I even bothered going in the first place. Sucks.

Hey, sorry it's been a minute. Still processing all of this.
It might not be? I heard there's a spring ball in April, and I'm going to try to patch things up with my crush, but I honestly don't know. And there's the fact I straight up lied to my mum and told her it went great, so now she thinks I'm sociable and prone to going to balls.
Nothing wrong with stress eating, neither with taking it out on a piñata. Better than a brick wall (punched one once, out of frustration, I don't recommend it. The wall won.)

Sounds like a plan, but you could also go as friends with someone, doesn't necessarily always have to be romantic (ironically, this was my situation at the Valentine's Ball, which definitely pressured romantic pairings a lot more than the spring ball.) If Ava's back by the ball (and nothing else goes on to make her disappear again?) maybe you two could just make it a girls' night sort of thing?

Shredding the journal definitely counts. I’d probably have more sickles if we just added “shredding stuff” to the list. A lot of scrapped letters that I never sent and didn’t trust not to be found somehow. Call it paranoia, ha.
