A Magical Start

That day was one of the happiest days of her life, she was finally at Hogwarts and was able to see with her own eyes all the magic and wonderful thing in there. Her brother had always been good and careful with his choice of words, but all the descriptions in the world would never been enough to contemplate all the amazing things she was seeing and observing. As a muggleborn, Ying felt like everything was a piece for her delight and amazement, the talking pictures, the hanging candles, the magical ceiling, even the ways people were talking and acting! It felt like she was part of one of her favorite fantasy books! If she wasn't the youngest sister, already used to having magic in her family she would be thinking that she was just having a very vivid dream!
She was now following the crowd of students that was leaving the Great Hall towards their respective Common Rooms. She was trying to keep her pace steady and not being crushed by the older and taller students around her. She was also turning her head in search for a specific white-haired boy that she had decided that she wanted to meet. What he had been talking about at the Gryffindor table captured her attention and she felt curious in knowing more about his clubs and how to join them. Adding to that, she couldn't also deny how good looking he was and that she wouldn't mind to have him as a possible friend!
A few more steps forward and she eventually had been able to spot him. Accelerating the pace a little more and piercing through a group of students she could finally reach his side, "Hey!" She softly called out to him, lightly touching the sleeve of her robe to get his attention, "I'm Fang Hui-Ying, first year!" She introduced herself with a smile, "Do you mind if I ask you a few questions about the Clubs? Sorry, couldn't help but hear you talk about it at the table!" She asked enthusiastically, trying to keep up with the crowd and look at him at the same time.

| ─── | It was the evening of Thursday, September 1st, 2022.
The start of a new school year and Kim and Elsian had plotted over the summer to make it hilarious. They'd set up an elaborate prank which had come into fruition at the Great Hall during the sorting ceremony feast. Of course, they hadn't expected a fight to break out amongst the Ravenclaws. But that had only served to help mask their own prank. Everything had gone well and it didn't seem as if anyone realized who was responsible for the explosion of cake. What with what had gone on earlier, students were trying to figure out what was going on. Sophia and Spider Girl's outburst had worked perfectly for them and Kim smirked a bit... He'd reunited with a few people he'd known in the past since attending Hogwarts, which had been rather surprising for him. Back when he'd first started, he'd reunited with Gia, met Eun-ji (his best friend's fiance), found out about the existence of a 'cousin' who attended Hogwarts with him, and reunited with Roxette this year. What else would happen during his second year here? Not to mention his upcoming third year? Kim had spoken with a few new first years at the Gryffindor table earlier but hadn't really made any 'connections'. Not really. But then again, Kim wasn't the type to be friendly from the start, even though Sophia was changing him. As the feast wrapped up and the prefects took the new first years to their dorms, Kim got up and headed towards the dorms to pick up Puffie. After all, he'd left him in the dorms because he hadn't wanted to have a fiasco take place in case the pink puffball went missing during the ceremony. Lately, Puffie had been really curious and had started to go exploring on his own all the time. It was a stressful time for Kim. Hopefully, this was just a phase Puffie was going through and the pink puffball would settle down sometime very soon. It was around this time that he suddenly felt a little tug on his sleeve and looked down to see an unfamiliar face peering up at him. The girl spoke, introducing herself to him and Kim tilted his head to the side. Why did that name sound somewhat familiar to him? As she continued to speak, the white haired boy nodded, the pieces falling into place for him. "Sure. But you should probably go with your prefect, sign up for a dorm and get your belongings settled first. You'll have an hour or two after that before your curfew. So we can talk then. I'll meet you in the common room in 15 minutes?" Kim asked, figuring that was enough time for the prefect to teach Ying the basic rules and to get settled in..... Plus, it would give him some time to get Puffie and feed him too. |
