Lucien was stuck in a tree. There was simply no other way to put it. He had climbed up a rather tall tree to surprise his friend when she walked by, only Lucien forgot one thing. She didn't go outside much. Sighing to himself he tried to recall how he had even gotten in the tree. He wasn't quite sure how he had pulled it off considering that the only branches were near the very top. He frowned having no idea to get back down. Lucien had been stuck for at least 30 minutes now. A few students had passed looked at him funny a proceeded to go on their way, two asking if he needed help. Instead of accepting help for the sake of his pride he said he could get down.

So here he was contemplating if it would be worse to jump and risk hurting himself, ask for help and hurt his pride, or just live in the tree and glare at anyone who got near his tree. It was going to be his tree now, it seemed like a better option to live in it rather than hurt something physically or mentally. He mentally wished his sister was there to help him, then again she would probably laugh first. Lucien sighed once again dozing off in the tree a bit before he heard a voice. "Are you stuck?" Someone said. He turned his head towards the source of the voice looking down to see another student.

Amanda walked outside, squinting in the bright sunlight. She had just completed tons of homework that she had put off in the library, and was tired of books and parchment. I should really stop procrastinating. This will the the last time, I promise. But Amanda knew that that promise would amount to nothing. She told herself that every time and nothing had changed yet. Amanda sighed and sat down in the grass, tossing some pebbles aimlessly.

I wish that I could just stay home instead of coming to this place. Amanda had mixed feelings about Hogwarts. There were times when she absolutely loved it and marveled at all the amazing things that magic had to offer. But there were also times when she couldn’t help but feel a little lonely. Amanda wasn’t used to being around so many peers, especially not ones she was expected to interact with. When she went to Muggle school in America, she was always the outcast, the one that nobody liked and everybody picked on. Most of the people at Hogwarts, though, were kind and actually wanted to talk to Amanda. She was never completely sure how to respond to their kindness, but usually things worked out.

Amanda snapped out of her thoughts when she noticed a Slytherin boy sitting in a tree. He appeared to be trying to find a way out of his situation. Amanda grinned to herself and walked over. “Are you stuck?”

Hestia didn't think she'd have noticed the Slytherin boy stuck in the tree if the Ravenclaw student had never asked if he was stuck. The Hufflepuff had been sat a couple of trees away, reading a book that she'd picked up from the common room. None of the lessons she'd been in that day had given her homework, so she'd hopped along to the library and picked up a muggle book called Lord of the Rings. It seemed pretty good.

As the Ravenclaw spoke, Hestia rolled her eyes and turned towards the source of the noise, annoyed despite the fact that the speech hadn't even been directed at her. It was then that she noticed the Slytherin in the tree, and furrowed her brows. The redhead stood up and headed over to the two strangers, eyes flitting between the two of them.

Eventually, she looked up and raised her eyebrows at the Slytherin in the tree. 70% of Hestia wanted to laugh, but the other 30% knew that it would be a rude thing to do. Instead, she gritted her teeth to stop the laughter escaping her mouth. "That's a bit of a tree-dicament you're in up there," she finally spoke, delivering the really bad pun with a slight ghost of a grin on her freckled cheeks.

A Ravenclaw starred up at him, one thing Lucien hadn't exactly expected when he looked down towards the girl who spoke. "No I'm not stuck. I could get down easily." He said turning his nose up in the air slightly in a proud manner before looking back down. There was no way he could convince her he wasn't stuck most likely. "Ok yes I'm stuck. I've been stuck for 30 minutes." It wasn't too long after that another girl appeared with a pun that made Lucien want to bury himself 6 feet under the ground. He simply nodded with a rather pained expression. "Yeah...you can just laugh, it would so much less embarrassing to me." He said with a sigh.

As much as he hated to admit it to himself, he was stuck, and the only way out of the tree was by either falling, jumping, or getting help. His blue and green eyes showed clear embarrassment as well as a rather bright red blush spread across his face. It was the first time Lucien had ever truly been embarrassed, the only time anything slightly embarrassing happened it was a simple matter, like tripping or hitting his head. However, managing to get stuck in a tree was much father from slightly embarrassing.

Amanda rolled her eyes when the boy in the tree said that he wasn’t stuck. “Yeah, right.” The boy then admitted the fact that he couldnt get down. Amanda smirked. “That’s more like it. I swear, you rich kids are all so soft.” She shook her head and snickered.

A Hufflepuff girl walked up and made a pun. Amanda thought that it was cringey, but she couldn’t help but mirror the girl’s grin. She turned back to the boy. “Oh, we’re not making fun of you. If you want some help, you could just ask. I’m quite the professional tree-climber myself.” Amanda made the pretense of studying her fingernails. “That is, unless you’re to proud to ask a couple of girls for help getting down from a tree.” Amanda glanced at him sideways and grinned, her eyes twinkling mischievously. “I’m just messing with you. Haven’t you ever climbed a tree before? I thought that was something that all boys like to do.”

Amanda loved to climb trees. She’d been hauling herself up onto branches practically ever since she could walk. Her twin had always joined her, and when they got a bit older, sometimes they’d drop water balloons on unsuspecting passerby’s. Most of the neighbors hadn’t been particularly fond of those two rascals, but that hadn’t surprised anybody.

Hestia grin grew at the boy's reply, looking towards the Ravenclaw girl. She'd seen her around in the corridors, but hadn't caught her name. Same with the Slytherin boy. They both looked familiar despite the fact that Hestia hadn't had any lessons with them. She had figured that the Slytherin was a second year, due to the fact that he did look a little older than the other two girls.

After a small giggle escaped her mouth at the Ravenclaw's comment about the two girls not making fun of him, Hestia opened her mouth to speak. "What's your name? We can't just call you "the guy who got stuck in a tree once"," she replied, using her hand to shield her face from the sun that filtered down through the leaves of the tree. "I'm Hestia... and I guess we're gonna have to get you down from the tree."

Hestia had never really been the kind of person who climbed trees. She'd always played on the ground - she had no interest in going up in the air... that was probably due to her slight fear of heights. She'd played with wooden animals and had acted out stories instead.

Lucien shook his head. He had only climbed two trees in his life, one at the school he attended before Hogwarts and then the one he was currently stuck in, he had managed to get stuck in the first one as well. "I've never climbed trees much in all honesty. I've only done it twice, and both resulted in me getting stuck, my sister is the tree climber, not me." He said looking down not wanting to admit he had to get help. Sucking up his pride was something he always hated. Every fiber of his being was too proud to accept help.

The other girl spoke up, introducing herself as Hestia, a name Lucien rather liked. "I'm Lucien Escanora. If you know my family please do not let them know I got stuck in another tree." He stated as his blue and green eyes glimmered with worry. "It would be most appreciated if you helped me down somehow." A sigh followed his words along with a frown. If one thing was certain, Lucien HATED trees. He mentally vowed never to climb a tree again. Trees were evil things that held you captive in the air if you attempted to climb it. Sure they provided oxygen, but they were still evil.

Amanda shook her head and smiled again. “Wow, okay. Sure, we’ll help you. Or at least I will, I’m not so sure about her.” Amanda gestured towards the Hufflepuff. She took a step back and surveyed the situation. “Hm, well, you probably shouldn’t jump down. You could break something that way and that wouldn’t be good. Um, let’s see...” Amanda began to pace around the tree. She was grasping desperately for an idea. She just usually climbed right back down. I guess not everybody can climb trees that easily. I’ve got to do something, but what?

Amanda ran her hand through her hair. “So, a ladder? No, no, where would we find a ladder? Maybe we could toss you a broom and you could fly off... no, that’s awfully hard to do. Oh dear.” Amanda took a deep breath and cleared her head. Suddenly, her eyes lit up. “Oh, I thought of something! Well, it’s not the best idea, but it just might work. Maybe you could jump and we could try to catch you? It’s the best I’ve got. What do you guys say? Do you think it might work or do you have an idea? Because I’m definitely open to any better ideas you two might have.”
