It wasn't unusual to see the third year in the Duelling Club room, somehow even more likely to see the girl here after she had left the duelling team than before. And here she was again today, facing one of the dummies transported a little further away from some of the others by the left wall. She wore her black uniform robes with a brown satchel dropped on the ground besides her feet. Next to that was a book- likely on charms or jinxes, opened to one of the pages as she looked down to read. It was clear that the girl was not practicing any dodging currently from the lack of space between herself and her possessions, instead focusing on truly understanding a spell.

"Obscuro." She'd recite, a quick loop of her hand before the cloth formed to loop and cover where the eyes would be on the dummy. Sufficiently satisfied with the attempt, Lea took a step back to take a break and glance around the room. While most seemed to be working on their own things, there were others that seemed- new perhaps? Not typically one for conversation, the Hufflepuff was still curious as she tilted her head towards the others. At least duelling was something Lea felt more comfortable talking about. "Can I... help you out? Are you looking to duel or practice?" Brown eyes glanced over to the piste, then over to the other dummies, before returning back to whomever seemed to have responded to her questions.

Duelling, it was something that Raizel had taken interest in ever since she heard about it. Much more when she and her friend talked about it in the Hogwarts Express. Despite that, she had never visited the duelling club, perhaps a bit intimidated by whoever she might see there. This timid personality of hers that arises sometimes is what makes her wonder why she was put in Gryffindor. Well, what's done is done, can't do anything about that anymore.

Raizel was still dressed in her school robes when she made her way to the duelling club earlier, holding her books in charms as she was doing a light reading earlier. Charms, jinxes, those fascinates her, reason why she mostly carries her book just in case she wants to learn a couple of spells or two which are within the reach of her current level. Currently, she was watching one of the students there that's been practicing. She doesn't know the spell that she had used but it was still fascinating for her. Her brown eyes seemed to gleam as she watched the scene where the blindfold appeared and wrapped around the dummy's eyes… or at least, where the eyes should be.

Only when the student that was practicing spoke up did she snap out of her trance. What was she doing here again? "Uh…" it took a while for the first year to come up with a response as she recovers from her initial trance. "Oh, I was just checking things out." She answered with a soft chuckle before looking around as well.

After a little galivanting through the castle Finley found the room she had been after. An impulsive decision led her to find her name on the Ravenclaw dueling team waitlist before she realized that she had never really dueled before. Nor was she entirely sure how dueling worked for that matter. So she had left the safety of the common room in search of the dueling club. As she stepped in, she immediately felt a little out of her league. She recognized a couple of students as much older than herself and silently begged that she wouldn't be dueling them. She only had a couple spells under her belt after all. She slipped back against the wall to just take in everything. Of course her parents had to push her towards joining a sports team. Well, at least she had chosen dueling instead of quidditch.

She took a few steps towards a girl who looked to be around her age with the intention of introducing herself, just to catch a snippet of another conversation. "I am actually looking to learn how to duel." She said softly as she approached the both of them. "And possibly get a couple of duels under my belt if possible."

An eyebrow raised a the slight start, happy to see that someone seemed to enjoy her spellcasting. It had taken a while to learn and she was still on that journey, but it felt as though it had gotten better in her past years at Hogwarts. The girl twirled her wand, tucking it away for the time being as she turned her attention to the younger student.

"Makes sense. Well, uhh-let me know if you have any questions or want to know a bit more about the room or the sport." She offered, a small shrug following. Considering that this was a space Lea had grown fond of, she appeared far more interested in talking about it than her typical bored self. Brown eyes would quickly catch a glimpse of someone else, though, offering them a slight tilt of her head as the other joined the conversation.

"You've come to the right place. I can help out with learning a bit, if you'd like." There was a hint of a smile that played on the Hufflepuff's face before tilting her head in thought at the dueling experience. "I could duel against you, but I think that might not end up too well for you-" Perhaps she was underestimating them, but it didn't matter much to Lea. "Although perhaps if you-" Her attention turned to the Gryffindor, realizing that she knew no name before continuing on, "are interested? Both of you seem to be new." She'd take a metaphorical step back from the conversation, waiting to rejoin if they agreed in order to talk about some of the rules or strategies involved in the sport.

“Of course, I’ll let you know. I am interested in learning more about dueling.” The young Gryffindor replied to the older student when she offered her help before taking her time to take a look around the said place, still fascinated by it. Raizel then turned her head to look over to the girl who joined their conversation once she heard her voice, listening to the Ravenclaw as she spoke about her interest in dueling, on how she wants to do a couple of them. She did get a bit excited at the thought of watching a duel here when the older Hufflepuff had responded to the girl but got taken aback by her question to her.

Raizel wasn’t exactly expecting that she’ll get a chance this quickly to try dueling out but she was kind of hoping she’d get it to see if she has a knack for it or if the sport is for her. The reason why she had managed to muster the courage to go to the dueling club today. “I would like to try it if it's alright. I do know a couple of spells.” she answered her with . “And yes, I am new to this whole dueling. Just been hearing things about it.” the first year Gryffindor glanced over to the Ravenclaw student. “Would that be alright? And uh… I’m Raizel Voltrouz by the way.” She introduced herself to the two with a shy smile. It’d be nice to know who these people are, get to know them since they already met and all.

“Of course that would be alright! Oh, and I’m Finley Alekhin by the way.” She was practically bouncing on her feet from the excitement. “A duel sounds perfect! How do we start?” She asked, having no real clue what to do, other than point her wand at her opponent and hit them with one of the two spells she had learnt. As curious as she was, she was also a little nervous. It had come to her realization that one of the spells she had casted fire. And as Raizel was also likely a first year, she would have that spell too. It couldn’t cause that much damage if they taught it to first years, right?

She shook her head slightly, clearing the thoughts. Finley had never been one to run from danger to begin with, though in the muggle world it was decidedly less treacherous. And getting over her fear would be the first step, especially if she was to be dueling on the house team. Turning to Raizel, she gave her as confident of a smile as she could muster. “Ready if you are!” Finley said, hoping her tone was more excited than anxious as she waited for instructions from the older student.

"Wonderful." She probably would have left the other girl to it then, had there not been another visitor and an interesting opportunity. For now, the Hufflepuff stayed in her place, only a foot pointing away to suggest that she had even thought of the idea of wandering off. Instead, the girl would listen in on the other two, a little happy that they had accepted her dueling offer and curious as to how well she would be able to moderate. At the very least the Hospital Wing was not too far away, only a floor down.

"You only need a couple." Lea had started out with very few spells and still managed to do alright, but that was mainly due to her partner. Finley was more than ready to jump in, Raizel had the sort of hesitance that Lea expected. She'd offer a small thumbs up to the Gryffindor, her small attempt at a little cheer, before turning her attention to the Ravenclaw and the question.

"Okay. Basically, there's a piste. You two will stand on opposite sides, facing each other. You can only use spells for attacks and you can't leave the piste unless dueling is over- either via forfeiting or unconsciousness." She paused, only then realizing the damage caused by dueling to have passing out as an indicator of failure or success. "Uh, maybe we don't go until passing out unless you all are okay with it." Whatever the two decided upon for that would be taken into consideration during her moderation. "Other than that, you will wait until my signal to start casting spells and you'll have to pause should I signal again for anything. Does that sound alright?" If so, Lea would wander over the the side of the piste, motioning for them to follow and find their own positions. Otherwise, the girl would wait for a bit, willing to answer any other questions or comments.

With this being her first duel, Raizel somehow has mixed feelings about it. While she had been looking forward to it, thus the sudden excitement she felt when the girl who introduced herself as Finley told her that it was indeed alright for them to try dueling, she is very nervous, having thoughts like missing her target or even unable to cast spells. Still, she shook her head to get her focus back. If she keeps thinking like that and feeling nervous about it, then she’ll definitely fail at this. Have courage, she thought to herself as she got her composure back, looking at the piste and then to Finley. “Yeah, let’s do this.” she told her with a smile that she managed to muster.

She let out a nervous chuckle when Lea mentioned about dueling until passing out. “Yeah… maybe not to the point of passing out if possible…” she muttered as she followed Lea before going into position, standing on one of the ends of the piste. She looked back at the other two, drawing out her wand and then looking down on it. She can feel her hand shaking from both excitement and nervousness. “C’mon, you can do this.” the first year told herself, her grip on her wand tightening as she stood there, waiting for this duel to commence.
