He hit his mark as intended. The newest badger was holding their own in the race, they had done good for the team so far. But a bright spark like that was best snuffed out quickly before it managed to transform into an inferno, and everyone knew the Huffles burned better than anyone. Or maybe he was just dealing with some light anger issues at the moment. Serena had been careless in his eyes, that waterfall shouldn't have surprised her. She should have braced for impact. It's shameful to get knocked off your bro-

Something hit Hugh in his side, and before he fully realized it, he had already crossed the tipping point in maintaining his balance on top of his oversized broom. Both giant and tree plummeted through the air in a highly irregular pattern before ultimately hitting the forest floor with a loud thud.

Sitting up straight, Hugh's eyes locked onto the source of impact and couldn't help but grin at what he saw. The tiny girl he had just hit a few moments ago, and was likely close to fainting, had come back to claim vengeance. The giant's laugh roared, and billowing echoes trembled past the treetops.

"Now, that's racing!" He cried, hurrying to fetch his 'broom'.

Things were going just fine until some half-giant flung whatever it was at her. And it hurt. Very badly. Did she have a target on her back or something? Very annoyed, she successfully rammed straight into him and managed to knock him off his broom. Without caring one single bit about some random dude she just crashed into, she flew away. All of a sudden it started feeling very cold, and within seconds she started feeling like an ice burg. What was going on?

Coming out of the forest, with a few new shiny bruises, Della wasn't prepared for the sudden wind that pushed hard against her. Before she could think, the world flipped upside down, her fingers let go of her broom, and the ground knocked the wind out of her. Oh the ground. That's where she was now. Great. As everything shifted back into place, above her she saw a small flash of yellow collide with a large splash of red. Impossibly, it was the splash of red that came hurtling to the ground with a deafening thud. Her teammate's roaring laugh made it obvious who it was. Della tried to follow Hugh's lead and find the lightness of the situation, but knowing that only three-fifths of the lions were left in the air was worrying. She scampered after him to find her broom.

Ugh, today was just not the day for a broom race. Valentine's Day was just around the corner, and even with the course rushing past him and projectiles flying, George was overly concerned with thoughts of his long-distance love with a strange Swedish pen pal. Especially after what Hugh had done at the starting line. Had Serena sold him out? Did Hugh know all about his complex, multi-faceted love life? Had he made an offer of refreshments to psych George out? He'd refresh Serena up the side of her little head if she'd betrayed him like that! How else could he know?

Up ahead, something breathed fire at the long-maned lion, Nick M. What could be doing that? George would have to keep his eyes open for it.

Hufflepuff began the round on the offensive yet again, utilizing their two players who had been slowed down by the cold to front an offensive attack against the prior Gryffindor Broom Racing Captain, Nicholas. Perhaps his former captaincy made him a better target, or perhaps it was because he was at the front. Either way, both Sophie and Simon struck their opponent with the objects they had collected from the ground, and Nicholas was beginning to look... well... not great. "Looks like the Hufflepuffs have a new target in mind with Lowe being preoccupied on the ground now! McCowan just took a beating! Will he be able to make it through the race?" Starlee yelled to the crowd.

Serena had finally managed to get back on her broom, and was racing forward to try and catch up with the rest of the group. Perhaps a bit too hastily, as she bonked into one of the trees when her broom began to vibrate a little too much due to the extreme speed. Jack was right ahead of her, and the two continued on.

The two Hufflepuffs would possibly see the two Gryffindors scrambling to their brooms below them, perhaps unaware of the attack to one of them that their own team had made. But Della and Hugh would be back in the race soon, probably with a vengence.

While the sunlight glinted off the snow in a way that could possibly temporarily blind someone, it seemed all three racers were prepared, and made it through with no issue.

Just like last round, two racers enter, and two racers exit, this time without any flames, much to the crowds dismay. Both George and Marina had managed to catch the Cockatrice's eyes almost immediately, and both were hit with a stillness that would make racing difficult for a bit.

She exhaled sharply as the branches of trees scrapped into the side of her face. She was convinced she had managed to dodge them all but the stupid tree seemed to come out of nowhere! Or perhaps it was the unsteadiness of her broom. Either way, it was not ideal - and it bloody hurt! Serena had no time to rest though. She had to catch up - everyone else was getting ahead. She whizzed through the skies as quickly as possible, until he caught up with some teammates-

Wait, why was it so bloody cold?!

Ugh. She was definitely done with the day. It was cold and miserable. What was next? A bludger was going to hit her off her broom again? That would not surprise her! The chill literally penetrated her entire body, causing her spine to shiver. It was so cold that she could cry but her tears would probably just freeze up instantly! The wind was not helping. It was certainly miserable.

Maybe it was time to do what badgers were known to do best. It was time to start a fire.

This slender Scots Pine would make a fine Christmas Tree but this tree was modified with purpose. A metallic framed seat complete with windshield and stirrups has been added at the back, serving as the tree's counterweight. This sturdy, reliable tree that will definitely get the job done.

Speed: Top Speed is 6, however when you reach a speed of 6 this increases to a 10% chance that you will auto miss (with anything requiring an accuracy roll) and you will be auto-hit (with anything requiring a dodge roll).
Ability: Immune to broken broomshaft.
This broom is intended to carry multiple people. When someone uses the catch option to rescue a falling teammate, they can catch one additional teammate in a given round. This broom can carry up to four users. If the user has the ability Catch then a user can catch an indefinite number of teammates in a round, but for each person they catch after the first there is a stacking 20% auto-failure chance. Returning users to their broom is a free action for the owner of the blue bottle, but those being returned to their broom need to use their action getting to their broom. Only one person can be returned to their broom as a free action (for the owner) per round, they can use their action to return a second user however.

As predicted, Xailah's limbs loosened right up once she came in contact with some sunlight. Sparse rays chipped away at her chill; yet, there were some lingering effects she could feel, product of looking right at the flying rooster that been circling the track a few yards back. She only had herself to blame for that one. She should have averted her gaze when she had the chance.

Like clockwork, Hufflepuff would initiate a second assault. This time, ex-captain McCowan was the target of not one, but two brazen badgers. So that's how they wanted to play today. If one thing was for certain, Hufflepuff did not hold back on the bloodletting. Their experience with fires and unusual mishaps hardened them well. The unexpected quality could be appreciated... at different times, that is. Xailah hadn't noticed it earlier (despite him smelling horrifically like cooked meat and leather, again, thanks to that damn cockatrice), but Nicholas was beginning to look worse for wear. He must have been knocked upside the head harder than she initially thought.

Despite the worry the young lions worsening state brought, relief arrived in the form of a very small lioness, as Marina pulled into vision. There was just a bit more of the race to go. The three of them could make it... Maybe.

Things went fine this round. No one flung stuff at her, no one tried to hurt her, and no one tried to run into her. Hopefully, karma doesn't hit back at her next round, since she purposefully tried to hit somebody with a projectile and successfully did so. She didn't really move any further than that, although she knew she probably should if anyone wants to fling rocks at her again.
