Closed Totally A-Ok pv

Ah. The wonderful outdoors. Kayla loved the grounds of Hogwarts, simply magical, it was. The grass was never dead, but never overgrown either, you had perfect veiw of the lake, and Hogwarts itself, and it was also the desired spot to go running.
But, you know what's better than running? Painting.

Kayla had gathered her things earlier, but she had resolved to drawing instead, after her meeting with her friend, Sirin, she had found drawing actually a nice hobby. She stuck to painting, and preffered it, but she liked to try and draw, too. So, grabbing only a sharp pencil with an eraser on the back, a sketchbook and from the common room she made her way outside.

Now, Kayla was a naturally hyper person; she loved running in hallways, carwheeling around the grounds and doing handstands in the common room.
So how she almost knocked over someone from doing a cartwheel, Kayla will never know.
But it happened anyway.
Kayla hardly noticed the dirty blonde bob in the grass as she attempted to cartwheel with one hand, as the other was holding her book. In this attempt, she realised only last minute that she was going to crash onto a girl who sat on the grass, and seemed to be deep in thought.
"AHHH- SORRY-" Kayla shouted as she just missed the girl, falling down next to her with an oof.
"Oh, gods, are you okay? I didn't see you, I'm so sorry! I really didn't mean to- I didn't hurt you did I?" Kayla apologised, sitting up and dusting grass out of her hair.

I'm sorry, what?
"I'm- I'm sorry." Those were the only words that could that could come to her mind, no one had ever really shouted at her. Not a moment in her life. Just hearing those words come out of the girls mouth told Kayla two things:
One: she wasn't English, Scottish, Welsh (Kayla lived in Wales herself. She would know), or Irish. Transfer student? Did they have those at Hogwarts? Then Kayla remembered.
"Gods- sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry- sorry. I'm sorry, okay? I just wanted to draw and it was so nice outside, and the grass here is so nice, for doing little things, you get me? I didn't see you, and cartwheeling is fun, so I just accidentally almost hurt you. And I'm sorry for being stupid, because it was stupid. Sorry. It was pretty rash of you to shout. But, hey. I get it." Kayla sat up straighter and faced the girl, putting her hands down, crossing her long legs. "I'm Kayla Realma, and I again apologise for nearly hurting you. Your name is?" She asked the girl politely. Kayla understood why she was angry and didn't mind too much that she shouted anymore. Kayla knew she was clumsy and made a mental note to check if someone is in front of her before she decided to check.
"Are you from here? Hogwarts?" Kayla asked the girl, she was curious to know.

Kayla held up her hands, in a surrendering gesture.
"I cartwheel. And its pretty fun, you should take a go at it sometime."

Kayla learnt that this girls name was River- like the River Thames. This made her wonder if she had a sibling named Ocean or something, but not wanting to be rude, Kayla wisely decided not to say this out loud. She also learnt that River was from Beauxbatons- the French wizarding school- and from how she reacted when Kayla asked if she was from Hogwarts, River clearly did not like Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

"I'm sure it's a great school," Kayla agreed. Though Kayla's heart was more set to the Japanese wizarding school, she decided to agree so she wouldn't cause arguments. Kayla was also interested, as she was with most new things.

"What's it like? Beauxbatons? Do you have four houses like here?" Kayla asked River. Kayla figured that since the older student was so proud of their school, they wouldn't mind Kayla asking some questions. Kayla just had to be careful to not as the wrong question, considering how Rivers' mood could change from calm to rage in a matter of seconds. Just like an actual river, Kayla thought.

"Well, my school is of course the best, Its very fancy and we have lots of room to do whatever we like. Things work different than how they work here, of course there are way more students than there are here."

Kayla listened rather quietly as River talked. But she kind of doubted that beauxbatons could have students more than Hogwarts. The amount of students that Hogwarts had was confusing. Kayla could barely keep her friends straight considering that they were so many. Too many. She decided (considering how proud River seemed of her school) not to intervene.

"'First four years'?" Kayla repeated, slightly confused. "Does that mean you only go to school for 4 years before you graduate? Or is it, like, a set of four years? Like your first year has four years, your second has, like, three?"

Kayla was a little undereducated on the French education system. Or the magical-French education system. But she was curious nevertheless.
And the first year couldn't imagine being at Hogwarts for seven years, then each seven years was equivalent to another four years. So four multiplied by seven which would mean...
Nope, not going there. Kayla was slightly out of practice with mathematics. She needed to figure out how to get a calculator to work at Hogwarts.

"Hogwarts is pretty simple. It's just seven years. I'm in my first year...which is called first year," Kayla added, hoping this would get River to explain about how it worked at Beauxbatons. And hopefully not get mathematics involved. Kayla shivered slightly just thinking about it.
