Miko turned to Riley. "Oh hi!" he said excitedly, "My name is Miko, what's yours?" the boy asked her. Finally, a new person to clear his mind Miko thought. This girl, she seemed a bit nervous or like she felt out of place, which wasn't the case. He'd felt the same when he was sorted into Hufflepuff since the rest of his family was in Gryffindor but later he felt pride in the house of the badger.

Then, turning to the Prefect, he smiled brightly. "Thank you for helping us out Ms. Towers, was it? The name's Miko as you might've heard from Verla here." Miko stated kindly to the other second year. Finally one that he'd met that wasn't all too rude. In fact if anything she was pretty kind, firm but nice in general. Thank god Serena had stepped in before the argument got violent not that it might've but just worse. He couldn't believe how quickly Dorothy had got up and walked out from being told off! The others had already but I guess it was just because she was of higher status than her.

Miko wanted to ask more questions but found it polite to keep his mouth shut for now at least. After all, asking questions before had caused an argument and a pretty long one at that!

Hestia arrived in the Great Hall just as another Hufflepuff student walked out. They seemed frustrated, and Hestia's eyes followed them until they turned a corner and went out of view. Turning back to the table, Hestia noticed that it seemed to have quietened down slightly, and a couple of its members were staring towards where the other Hufflepuff had just gone.

Gulping, Hestia recommenced her walk over to the table, sitting down on one of the benches. She rolled her sleeves up to just past her elbows and turned towards the group of Hufflepuffs. The conversation had now resumed and the lively chatter was back to normal. Hestia found herself wondering what had happened just before she arrived, but didn't want to ask anyone.

Hestia reached over to the fruit in the centre of the table, grabbing an apple. She was feeling a little peckish, and the apple looked incredibly inviting. The redhead bit into the apple with a satisfying crunch, covering her mouth slightly with her hand as she ate, listening into the conversations going on around her. It seemed that people were still talking about the girl who had just left.

The redhead moved slightly closer to the group as she finished her mouthful, leaning over the table. "Someone just left. Was she alright?" Hestia asked, briefly looking towards the doors before turning her attention back to the table and taking another bite from the apple.

Millicent walks into the Great Hall nervously. The reason was for everybody already in there.

"Maybe i should have stayed in the common room to make friends..."She whispers quietly. She shakes her head, 'No, i'm gonna do it.' Millicent walks closer to hear the last bit of conversation. 'A girl ran out of the hall.'
She slightly turns towards the doors when she smells pancakes. She looks toward the food and notices some blueberry pancakes. She slides onto the bench with ease. She loads a plate with pancakes and starts eating as quickly as possible to get out of the great hall. She looks around the table looking for some juice that she would like to drink, not really knowing to ask if they have any at the table. She chances a glance around the hall. Hoping she was going to be heard, she looks back at the Hufflepuff table. Looking at all the faces around her she gets nervous.

"Um...excuse me??" Millicent asks shyly.

She fidgets quietly wondering if anyone heard her, or if she needed to speak up. Millicent quietly gathers her stuff from where she set it next to her on the bench and looks around, she sighs at the friendships she sees forming and wonders if she will get something like that one day.

Amber noticed a girl acting shyly around everyone, and amber wondered if this girl could use a friend. Considering that Amber didn't really have anyone to talk to at the moment since the person she used to be talking to seemed to be slightly ignoring her Amber decided that maybe she would talk to this girl. Amber Was about to talk when the girl talked first, to no one in particular "Um...excuse me??" Amber took this as an opertunity since she wasn't very good with conversations anyways and responded "Yes?" Amber knew it wasn't much of a responce to it but it was a start.

The girl looked sort of nervous and it gave Amber a flaskback of her childhood, a time when she had almost no friends and when she was shy around crowds too. Amber remembered when she had been shy around a crowd but then someone came and became her friend. She remembered playing dolls with the girl and the girl defending Amber from her parents when her parents were getting mad at her. Amber remembered the day when the girl move away too, they were playing at he girls house when Amber acidentily le her magic out and broke a vase. Needless to say the girls parents were afriad for their daughters safety and so they moved.

Amber sighed as she remembered this but she also knew that she needed that friend and hoped she could be the kind of friend this girl needed.

Millicent jumps a little in fright before looking at the girl. She seems at a loss for words for a few minutes. Millicent looks around her to make sure there wasn't anybody the girl could have been talking to. When she finds no one she looks wide eyed at her.
"You mean me..?"
Millicent realizes that might have sounded dumb so she thinks for a second.
"Is there any juice other than pumpkin juice..that goes with blueberry pancakes...??"
Millicent seems winded with all she just said. She then looks around quietly before turning back.
"My name is Millicent, but you could...call me Milli...if you want." She says shyly.
Milli remembers having a similar conversation with her older sister, it didn't go to well. Her sister didn't take kindly to it and had yelled at her, with her mother being absent with the twins, with her Grandfather in his study. Milli ended up finding a meadow filled with flowers after that, so it wasn't all bad. It might have been her favorite day because of that.

Milli focuses back on the girl in front of her waiting for an answer, and praying not to be yelled at with the sec ond person she has met.

Cynthia had an awesome summer holiday.  Although she was sad that it was over, she was glad to be back at Hogwarts for her second year of learning magic.  She hoped this year would be just as fun as last year.  During the summer holiday, she was able to visit with her parents while they were at work at the Ministry of Magic.  Other days had found her busy in the potions lab at home.  She had been busy brewing several potions to replenish their personal supply.  Other days found her outside gathering precious potion ingredients that grew around the grounds of her home.

Now that Cynthia was back at Hogwarts, she focused on her schoolwork.  She had just finished watching all the new nervous first-year students go through the Sorting Ceremony to be sorted into their new houses.  She remembered being a bit nervous herself when she went through the ceremony.  She smiled as each new student took their place with their new house.  Cynthia warmly welcomed the new Hufflepuffs and hoped to make some new friends.  She also hoped to catch up with the good friends she had made last year.  For now, she enjoyed the Welcoming Feast and looked forward to the future.

Miko looked around and adjusted his robes a bit and grabbed a book. The book he was going to read very soon was titled "Hogwarts A History" which most people would be familiar with the book since it was on the supply list along with the accepting letter for Hogwarts. The boy opened the book and pretended to read, instead observing other people's conversations. A bit creepy, right? Not for Miko, for him this was a normal activity since he was a good observer and it came to him naturally.

Quickly, he glanced at the three girls closest to him and back at the book attempting to be sneaky about it. He ran his fingers through his hair whilst pulling it out of his eyes, seemingly frustrated. Although it looked as if he was stressed, he wasn't, he was merely thinking about his dad and step-dad in his own world. Of course he missed them, who didn't miss their parents from time to time? But mainly he missed hanging out with the dragons his dad took care of, that was fun. Miko also missed playing his guitar for his brother and fathers, they always loved it.

The young Hufflepuff grabbed a chicken leg and nibbled at it, his eyes widening. "Bloody hell, this is the best chicken I have ever tasted!" he said, barely able to be understood with his extremely thick Scottish accent.

"Yeah, you looked lonely and wanted to ask a question so I answerd." Amber shrugged as she answered the girl who was confused on who Amber ment. "You know no onw has asked me that question abou blueberry pancakes before but it is a good one." Amber chuckled a little at he girls peculier question as she continued "However I will answer it to the best of my ability. I have always thought that orange juice and bluberry pancakes mix well, but milk is always a favorite of mine." Amber smiled as she grabbed a glass of orange juice and a glass of milk off the table so the girl could choose between them.

The girl then introdused herself as being named Millicent or Milli as Amber reache out and grabbed another peice of salmon. "It's nice to meet you Millie! I'm Amber, but you can call me whatever you want." Amber grabbed a bottle of malt viniger and poured some on her salmon and then proceaded to dreanch it. "Want some salmon? It's really good with malt viniger." Amber offered Milli a peice and some malt viniger as she munched on the peice that she had. "If you don't mind me asking, whats your favorite book? Mine is A Stolen Kingdom. It's about a prince who doesn't know hes a prince because his unkle murdered his mom when he was a baby to take over the kingdom. A village couple then adopts him and saves him from his unkle and then raises him in another country. Then they tell him the truth about his past and he goes on a quest to save his kingdom"

"Wait I just realized something." Amber reached into her pocket and pulled out a fairly large book "I actually have the book here. If you want to borrow it you can" Amber held out the book and offered it to Milli so she could read it if she wanted.

Arran entered the Great Hall with his hands stuffed in his pockets, his blonde hair tossled to the side, and his robes not even on properly. He was glad he wasn't short as most of the other first years, excluding the lovely ladies. He grinned at a girl he caught staring at him and watched her turn red, which made him laugh.

He was a Hufflepuff, which was cool but no one else in his family was one, so he was pretty sure he was in the wrong House. Almost every one of his relatives was a Gryffindor, except for his older cousin who graduated as a Ravenclaw and his great-grandfather, who also had been a Hufflepuff, but no one spoke of him.

Hopefully that same silent treatment wouldn't happen to Arran, but he was going to play his cards nicely and not act as rowdy as he did back home, where he got into loads of trouble.

As he neared his House table, he slowed his pace to think between sitting with either the troublemakers, the cute girls, or a kid he thinks he remembered seeing on the train. The guy had a book in his hand, one of the study books and possibly Arran's least favorite subject, and he was beginning to eat his meal already. Arran figured it would be decent of him to get to know his fellow Hufflepuffs so he figured he could add this one as an aquaintence.

Arran plopped into the seat next to the guy and twittled his fingers as he decided on what to eat. "Hmm, I think I'll just get a bit of everything," he said, not really to anyone. Piling up food of many varieties on the small plate, Arran glanced at the boy's book and said, "Is that book any good? I barely looked at the titles as I bought them in Diagon."

Milli just stared at Amber. She took the book and held it gently. She slipped in her school bag for safekeeping and looking at the drinks. She hesitantly reached for the glass of orange juice and took a sip. Humming with delight she kept drinking. Halfway through with her glass she set it down.

"Thank you for the book...i'll keep it safe," Milli nids determinedly, "My favorite book is a series called Eragon, it's about a young boy dropped off at his aunt and uncles house to be protected. His mother having been killed not long after, and his father watching from afar. He finds a dragon egg in the woods and goes on quests with the dragon. It's my favorite. "

Milli has this dreamy smile on her face while speaking about it. Her smile small but no less pretty, a kind of shy smile for her. While looking at the salmon she frowns a little and mumbles, "I've never had salmon before." She looks at Amber from beneath her bangs she decided to wear today. "You want to be my friend?" Milli asks quietly while fiddling with her skirt. With it being knee length it didn't ruffle it at all.
