Date and Time: Feb. 12, 1pm
Tes begins in the library and then moves to the corridor where she finds Sara Arnez.

Tes would be the first person to admit she didn't like studying, much less somewhere as stuffy and quiet as the library. Barring her own antics, it was nearly unbearably boring in there. Seeing as she didn't recognize anyone in the library today, and knowing she needed to write one of her essays by Monday so she couldn't even do her usual technique of sitting with someone new just to make the time go faster, she found her way to a window seat.

It was just after lunch, so the sun shining in was starting to warm up the snowy grounds outside, and Tes looked outside longingly. It looked deceptively beautiful, but she knew first hand that the temperature was dreadfully cold and her fingers wouldn't much like her going back out. As she went to sit down at a desk, she noticed that it was already occupied by a book. She nearly stepped away to find another space, when she noticed it didn't have a title on it. Guilty curiosity took over, and she picked it up, opening it to the inside of the cover. There she found a name "Sara Arnez' written in it.

Flipping through it with barely a moment of hesitation, she skimmed the pages, jumping over anything too personal but focusing on anything resembling a hobby or an identifier. After all, she wasn't doing this just to be a snoop! It was clearly a well loved journal, and she wanted to help whoever it belonged to. Well, okay, it was maybe mostly because she was bored and the handwriting inside was much more exciting than any of the printed words in her books.

Confident she could identify the owner of the journal, she set off towards Ravenclaw tower in search of this Sara. She made it to the second floor corridor, running through the halls with the confidence only doing it on a daily basis since September could instill, Tes finally spotted a girl that matched the appearance of the journal's owner. Jogging around Sara to spin around and face her, Tes slowed to a stop, holding out the journal with a proud smile on her face and breathing slightly heavily from her exercise. She felt her cheeks burn slightly as she realized she likely resembled her family's dog bringing home a particularly large stick, but her relief at finding who she hoped was the owner of the journal meant she was energized and couldn't press it down.

"Hi there! Are you Sara Arnez? I found this at a desk in the library. I'd like to say I didn't look through it, but I glanced a bit at this or that to figure out how I could find you. I'd hoped at the very least I could find you at the Ravenclaw tower, but I'm glad I didn't have to climb all those stairs," Tes paused to catch her breath, breathing slowly in throug her nose then out through her breath, slowing in her rambling, "I'm Tes, by the way. Tesla Stone, that is. First year Hufflepuff."

Sara was just getting back from doing Herbology homework in the library. It was actually interesting, she learnt about Bouncing Bulbs and the charm Incendio. Although it wasn't the most interesting homework, Sara was grateful for the knowledge she got from it. She was still thinking about it while she was getting out of the library and was revising learned material.

Okay, so, Incendio is used for burning cobwebs and incineration of Flesh-Eating Slugs. Well, nothing that could come off too handy, but the cobweb part may serve a good purpose sometimes... she thought to herself, deep in thought. She was just walking and wasn't looking where she was going. Until now, she already knew the way to the Ravenclaw common room by heart and could pass it even blindfolded. All right, what about Buncing Bulbs, then? They are used in the Pompion Potion. Funny name for a potion! What does it do?? Hmm... Oh yes! A funny effect for a funny-named potion! It temporarily turns the head of the drinker into a pumpkin. It would be fun if you could do that to your enemy! she laughed to herself.

Okay, I think I know it by now, enough of the revising! she stopped her revising thoughts and for the first time in the last twenty minutes, she looked around and became aware of the existence of her body in the room. She realised she was on her way to the second-floor corridor and that she was holding her Herbology book and notes inside it as well as her quill. After checking her mental list of things she took with her to the library, she realised there was something missing. And that was very important and dear to her. It was her journal! Where she writes her private thoughts and sometimes even some of her deepest feelings! What if somebody read it? What if they read it and showed it to their friends and now they're laughing about me?? the train of anxious thoughts went through Sara's head as she froze on the stairs. She didn't know what to do... to go back to the library and seek her journal? Or to just head to the common room and hope somebody finds it and hands it back to her without reading it, hopefully. ...

She figured she was already too far from the library and didn't want to go back. So she'll just anxiously wait for somebody to return her journal without reading its content. Now she'll have to live in fear of somebody reading her journal and telling all her deepest secrets and desires to the whole school. Or maybe that's just an over-exaggeration, but Sara was an anxious person after all...

So she was climbing the stairs and got to the second-floor corridor... And then she heard somebody running behind her. Just a few moments later, a girl in a cute outfit with messy bright blonde hair appeared in front of her. She greeted her and showed her a book she was holding in her hand. Sara recognized it immediately - it was her journal. A flash of relief crossed her face. She found her journal! And she said she didn't read it, great! A grateful smile appeared on Sara's face. "Yes, yes, I am Sara Arnez! And thank you for bringing back my journal. As fast as you possibly could." Sara laughed jokingly. "Nice to meet you, Tes. You already know my name and I just need to add that I'm a First-year Ravenclaw. How could I possibly repay you for this noble act?" Sara said accompanying it with a dramatic hand gesture.

Sara had seemed distracted when Tes had been running up, and she couldn't help but be relieved that she hadn't startled her. Tes hadn't quite thought running up behind someone she didn't know all the way through, but she'd just been so excited! It had all worked out though, and the relief on Sara's face had Tes's own face lighting up in joy at being able to help. Her face heat up as Sara joked about her sprint through the hallways, rubbing the back of her neck and laughing along with Sara.

In response to Sara's flamboyent hand gesture, Tes laughed loudly and responded with a joking bow in return. "It's great to meet you! I've already been repaid in avoiding my schoolwork and getting to go for a lovely run!" Tes couldn't help but giggle as she spoke, doing her best to use a pompous accent. She chortled, snorting a bit as she dropped the silly act, explaining, "I was about to sit down and study, which I do my best to avoid doing to be honest, when I saw your journal just sitting there! I just flipped through it to find your name and anything I could use to find you, but I promise I didn't read anything personal," Tes smiled a bit guiltily, looking down, "So I technically did read it a little. Sorry about that! You're heading to the Ravenclaw tower, right? Do you mind if I walk with you? I could use another excuse," she leaned in conspiratorially, "I'm working on an essay for history of magic, I'd rather climb all those stairs then even think about reading another word!"

Sara still felt a mixture of shock and relief from Tes returning her journal. She just ran up to her and gave it to her! Surprising, but pleasantly surprising, after all.

Tes answered reciprocally to her dramatic hand movement by doing a funny bow. Sara couldn't help but laugh with her. "It's great to meet you! I've already been repaid in avoiding my schoolwork and getting to go for a lovely run!" Tes said. "It's great to meet you too!" Sara said with a cheerful smile on her face. Tes continued to explain how she found Sara's journal. She mentioned she was avoiding doing her homework, and that seemed so familiar to Sara (because she was doing that too ) and she had to add a comment. "Oh my, I just finished my Herbology homework... and next one I should do is History of Magic one, and I am not too delighted to do it..." she said and rolled her eyes slightly. Tes continued to talk about Sara's journal and she said that she actually read a little bit of it and Sara, to hide her fear of what Tes read, joked: "Well, I hope you didn't stumble upon my list of mortal enemies in Hogwarts..." hoping her new acquaintance will get the sarcasm and not think she is serious. "And maybe you stumbled upon the list of the songs I listen to... I don't know if you've heard of any of them..." Sara wasn't sure if Tes knew about the Muggle world or if she was also a Muggle and enjoyed similar things as her. She'll see soon. Tes suggested that the two of them should walk together to the Ravenclaw tower and Sara liked the idea. "Yes, I'm going to the Ravenclaw tower now. And I won't mind at all if you to walk with me! And about the History of Magic, I think we share enthusiasm for it." she said and hoped this will be a long walk and talk because she was excited to get to know her new friend!

Tes giggled as Sara rolled her eyes mentioning History of Magic. She'd met quite a few people that seemed to enjoy the painful slog through textbook after textbook of stuff Tes already more or less knew, so it was nice to have a kindred spirit in avoidance. "I'm guessing we have the same herbology homework, and I'll admit I haven't even started mine. I finished up Potions with my friend Charles yesterday, but not even he could make me sit down and finish two projects in one go like that. I'll catch up before class this week. Or just try to get it all done tonight," Tes scrunched up her nose as she thought briefly, "Nah, I'll just get it done next week. I've only got Herbology and HoM left!"

Tes puckered her lips in an attempt to hide her smile as Sara asked if she'd seen her list of mortal enemies. "Hmm... not so sure about mortal enemies, but I'm sure I found a few lists about plain old enemies! Seriously though, don't worry! I really didn't see much beyond your name and house. I didn't see any songs though, what do you listen to? Are they muggle or wizard bands? I know a bit of both from my mums, since they both like to listen to different things."

Tes hiked her bag up higher onto her shoulder and started walking with a slight bounce in her step, although she jokingly dragged her feet and slumped down as Sara brought up History of Magic. "I'll be honest, I like to think that I'm positive about everything, and the only thing I'm positive about is that if I have to read another word about someone or another doing something a couple hundred years I'm going to lose my marbles!" She perked back up, once her dramatics were done, giggling a bit and readjusting her bag, walking with a bit of a kick in her step.
