WRITING

1)Write a poem about Spring

Spring is here, you know the signs
Pouring rain all day long
Rainbows as far as the eye can see
I see the flowers growing through the grass
Not a minute too soon!
Go for a walk and enjoy the warmth!

2)Write a gossip leaflet about your character

Logan Baird is hiding something. For someone who is currently a broom racing captain and a former prefect, she is constantly seen alone muttering to herself. Sure, she could just be someone who talks to herself but how can she be so popular yet have so few friends. There has to be something else behind this Hufflepuff, she had been around for multiple of the attacks on the Hufflepuff common room. I have heard multiple younger students say that she has been nice to them, but there are many that say they are absolutely terrified of the girl.

Is Logan really just a sweet Hufflepuff that everyone loves or is she really a criminal mastermind plotting to take down Hogwarts?

3)Have your character tell us their best PG13 joke

Logan looked around at her friends, a grin forming on her face as she glanced over at Elsi. "Hey Elsi!" she called out before waiting for a response. After receiving one, her grin would widen. "Did you know singing in the shower is fun until you get soap in your mouth? Then it becomes a soap opera." She had barely finished the awful joke before she was cackling with laughter, nearly rolling on the floor at her own joke.

4)Write a post about feelings with no dialogue

Logan sat in the silence of the room, listening to the calming sound of the pouring rain as it hit the roof of the manor. It had been a rough day, old memories coming to surface and change happening faster than the girl was able to handle it. She knew that change was inevitable, it was just something that happened in life, but she sometimes thought that change happened faster than it should. Right now Logan felt as if the sudden changes in her once calm life were moving straight at her like a freight change, moving to quickly to be able to stop it and do anything about the situation. The rain matched Logan's mood perfectly though, the dreary dark sky that made the whole manor feel just a little bit colder than it normally did, even with the fires roaring in every fireplace.

Glancing around her room, a soft sigh left the girl as not even the thought or reading brought her any joy. Sherlock, the friendly cat he was, attempted to comfort the girl only to be gently shoved away and too the end of her bed. What she thought she needed was to be back at Hogwarts, able to avoid all of these sudden changes and go back to her schedule life. At least then she knew almost everything that was coming around the corner after her. While at home, she never knew what was going to happen at the chime of the clock.

5)Write a solo with your character trying something new

Logan glanced nervously up at the tall horses, a slight frown on her face. She had ridden horses for years, since she was only an infant to be honest, yet the thought of standing up on a moving horses back terrified her. "Are you sure this is okay?" she questioned the trainer with a grimace as one of the two Friesians shifted slightly. She was not even on the horses' backs yet and she was afraid of their movements. This was probably one of the first times the girl had ever been afraid of her own horses. "You will be fine. They are not even going to be moving at first, we will work our way up to that." With a slight huff, the Hufflepuff girl nodded as she followed the instructors previous instructions and swung herself up onto the back of one of the two horses. From there she carefully pulled her feet out of the stirrups and held onto the front of the saddle for balance. She had not even stood up yet, but hopefully her balance would be better once she was actually standing. She looked up long enough to get a nod from her trainer before carefully pulling her feet up onto the saddle and the rest of her body raising up into a stand. She was shaky at first, but carefully adjusted one of her feet onto the back of the second horse, nearly falling when the horse adjusted his own feet. She looked up with a grin on her face though as soon as she had balanced herself out and realized she had actually done it, maybe this was not going to be so bad after all. "Okay, now carefully lower yourself back done on the saddle again and dismount like normal." The brunette quickly nodded her head and maneuvered herself back into the saddle and then off of the horse. Only a few more times of this and maybe she would be able to attempt to balance while the horses were being led at a walk.

6)Make up a spell

Not everyone wants children going through their stuff or near them in general. There is a muggle-repelling charm to keep them away, so why not one to keep away children. So now I introduce to you the child-repelling charm. Repelling anyone under the age of 16 from your property so not only can they not enter, but they cannot see it either. While standing close to the center of your property, raise your wand and say Repelo Ninos (spell has Spanish origins). Now you will not have to deal with any pesky children on your property, but please remember to renew the spell every six months.

7)Short adventure story

When they said to choose a task to complete, Abbie was not expecting Gabriel to choose the hardest task possible. "Gabriel, when they said choose a task, WHY DID YOU NOT CHOOSE THE ONE THAT SAID FIND THE JEWEL IN THE MARKET?!!" To say Abbie was not happy was definitely an understatement, she was livid. Instead of the easy task, Gabriel had chosen the task that said they had to find the lava crystal in the flame caverns. So far the pair had made it too the caverns, but had no way of locating it without getting burnt in the process.

"Listen Abbie, I thought we could handle it okay?" All Gabriel got was a hard glare in response. The pair carefully made their first steps into the cavern and winced at the heat of it. Although apparently their task was not as hard as they had thought, as sitting on the far side of the cavern was the crystal, they just had to get to it. Slowly making their way through the heat Abbie groaned at the temperature, making sure to avoid the flames that occasionally shot out of the ground. "Watch you step," Gabe called out as a flame shot out of the ground and nearly had the younger girl. With a gasp, she fell back into the male but was able to steady herself quickly.

With only a few feet left, Abbie launched herself forward and grabbed the crystal cheering in relief as Gabe quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her away from another oncoming flame. "See, it was not even that hard," Gabe complained to the girl as the hardest thing they had to do was bare the heat of the cavern. "Okay, so it was not that bad," the girl muttered as they took their first steps out into the cool air of the forest around them.

8)Write a post about your character training for a sport/exercising

It was an warm early morning and now that Spring was here, Logan could actually get back to her morning schedule of going jogging in the morning without half freezing or being too lazy to roll out of bed. Glancing quickly at her sock covered feet, she grabbed one of her two pairs of sneakers and quickly laced them up on her feet. They were not the comfiest of shoes, if she could run in her slippers she would, but they were definitely better than dress shoes. With a tired yawn, the girl pulled herself off of the bed and gave Sherlock one last pat before leaving her dorm and then the common room, waving at any of the other Hufflepuff's that were still present in the room. The halls of the castle where a bit chilly that morning, although they would definitely warm up throughout the day as the sun rose higher in the sky and everything began to dry out from the rain the previous day. Quickly making her way outside, Logan sighed at the cool air and the squishy grass and dirt under her feet. This was definitely going to be a great day for jogging.

She started off at a slow jog, wanting to set herself at a slower pace since it had been a while since she had properly gone jogging. Maybe she could find another Hufflepuff who would want to be her jogging buddy, or someone from another house if they were willing to meet her outside somewhere. Having been stuck in her thoughts for so long, she had not even realized that she was already at the half way point of her normal jogging sessions and slowed down to a fast walk, allowing herself to breath for a bit. Normally she would be able to make it the whole way around, but she did not want to push herself too much after taking such a long break. This was definitely going to be something she was going to have to start doing more often.

9)Write a poem about love

You can love the clothes and you can love the looks,
Yet it will get you nowhere unless you live the heart.

10)IC write a 100-300 word description of your character's favourite food

The one word that would describe Logan's favorite food would be sweet and sugary. The sweeter it is, the better it is in her opinion. Containing butter, flour, and sugar, Danish Biscuits are a slightly dryer cookie similar to shortbread cookies. Coming in a variety of shapes and sizes, the can be circles, squares, or even look like pretzels. They can also be topped with or without sugar. These cookies can range in color from a golden brown to a pale white, depending on how long they are cooked for and at what temperature. Normally they are a smaller cookies, when finished only being about two inches in diameter.


2 cups flour 240g
1/2 tsp salt 3g
1 cup unsalted butter 227g
1/2 cup sugar 100g
2 egg yolks
2 tsp vanilla extract 5mL
1/3 cup sanding sugar
1) In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, cream the butter, salt, and sugar together until light and fluffy.
2) Add the egg yolks while mixing. Scrape down sides of the bowl.
3) Add 2 tsp vanilla extract.
4) Pour in the flour mixture and mix until incorporated.
5) Roll the dough into a log. Wrap in parchment paper or plastic, then chill it in the refrigerator for at least an hour. I've found the best 6) way to keep the dough from flattening out on the bottom is to pop it into an empty cardboard paper towel roll.
7) Once the dough is chilled sprinkle sanding sugar on a clean surface. Unwrap the dough and roll in the sugar.
Use a sharp knife to cut dough into slices of even thickness.
9) Place cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes or until the edge is JUST turning golden brown.
