The Heartbreakers - Let's start the Chaos
English: #008000 Parsel: #008080Haley packed up her notes and sheet music before leaving the warm Common room and heading for the rehearsal room. Until now she had been planning the first rehearsal of her band and the anticipation was great to finally put her ideas into practice. Last time she had asked everyone to give her 5 songs and she had tried to compile a song list from all the requests that would hopefully make everyone happy. As soon as the young Gryffindor arrived in the rehearsal room, it was exactly this list that she wrote down on the flip chart in an old muggle way.

Haley had sent a quick note to everyone last week to let them know that today would be the big day of their first rehearsal. Handwritten, a little note went out to all the members:
Haley still had a few minutes before the band members would arrive, so she went around the room and checked if everything was there. However, that was quickly taken care of. The piano was there, the guitars, drums, everything that would be needed for rehearsals."Heartbreakers!
The time has finally come and I am happy to announce that I expect you in the rehearsal room in exactly one week at 5pm. Warm your fingertips, your arms and especially your vocal chords, because you're going to need them.

As soon as the room had filled up with the rest of the Heartbreakers, she would greet everyone and give a few words about the process and her ideas.
"Hey y'all! Glad to see you all here. I don't want to beat around the bush and I'm sure you've already seen it - Here's our song list, which we'll be rehearsing for the next few weeks first." Haley pointed to the list briefly before turning back to the others. "For today's rehearsal, I have drawn three songs that we will focus on today." Haley went to the flip chart and circled three of the songs. I can't help myself, Somewhere only we know, Kill the Director.
"Well, I guess that will be our programme for today. I've had a few thoughts on it too, but would do a quick brainstorm round with you guys on this before we warm up and get going.
Okay so on Kill the Director - by the way I love the guitar and drums here!" Haley winked at Cash, Reena and Lucinia. "So I had the idea that I sing the first part:
I've met someone that makes me feel seasick. Oh what a skill to have...." Haley sang the first verse briefly to clarify what she meant. "Anyway, from the point where it continues with: Whenever she looks I read the nearest paper. I could very well imagine a change in the singer. I think that could be a cool change, because the first part is sung rather without a beat and then it transitions. You know what I mean? Anyway, I was thinking maybe you, Kim, would like to do the part then?" Haley hoped her ideas and explanations were understandable.
"Okay, go on. Somwhere onyl we know. I'd love it if maybe we could make a duet out of this? What do you think? And last I can't help Myself, I'd love to have some crazy backsinger action in this one. Simon? Maybe you could sing the main part?" Haley never thought she would find herself in a band with Simon after everything that had happened, but she had come to terms with it and had reached the point where she was okay with it. Eventually maybe more but for now it was a big step and while she made this suggestion to Simon, she didn't smile but she accepted that he was part of this band too. And she knew he was a valuable part, she knew his talent.

They/ShePax tapped their foot nervously as they waited outside the rehearsal room. They didn't come here often-they remembered they'd been adamant that they were not artsy in any shape or form. However, the summer had presented a new opportunity to learn something new, and Pax just couldn't help themselves when their cousin told them they played the bass.
So after an intense crash course, they'd learnt the basics of the bass guitar, and upon returning to Hogwarts they'd been eager to show somebody their new skills. Kim had been encouraging them to join more clubs, so seeing an ad for Haley's new band (which Kim was also part of) seemed quite fitting.
They'd arrived late because they hadn't technically been invited to this first rehearsal, signing up after invitations were sent and also forgetting when the practice actually was...
Either way, they'd finally found the rehearsal, and now was building the courage to enter. They also knew it was composed of several older students, which wouldn't have unnerved them usually. However, they were unsure if the amount they could play would live up to the standard that everyone else could live up to.
Ah, screw it, they thought, pushing the door open.
"Hi, sorry I'm late, I forgot what time the rehearsal was... I'm here as a bassist," they introduced, holding up their bass's case. "I hope I've not missed too much."Reducio

ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | It was the start of the weekend. Literally. It was a Saturday and late June, only five days away from the start of the summer and summer plans. Kim had quite a few things that he needed to do this summer both in his personal life and school life. First, he had to go back home for a short period of time to take care of some matters and reunite with his best friend back there. Then, he'd told Colin he'd come and visit him for a time and celebrate his older sister's wedding while he was there too. Eun-ji's ball was another thing on his list of things to do. And then summer camp would take place soon afterward and since Kim was part of the planning committee for activities there, he would need to head over earlier. Of course, before any of that happened, Kim needed to focus on studying for the end of year exams. He needed to get perfect grades. The last thing he needed was for his parents to find out he hadn't gotten a perfect score at the end of his first year at Hogwarts. However, the good news was that Kim was the type of person who was very good at being able to manage time. Therefore, as long as he focused, he could achieve all his goals. The blond had already studied all the material he'd learned in every one of his classes and was fairly confident in all of them. Except for one class. Transfiguration. The one Evelynn had been helping him with, ever since they'd met at the Alchemy Club's first meeting. She was a good teacher but Kim didn't feel confident about doing well in that class. Even though his grades had been really good in it. Perhaps not as good as in all of his other classes, with the exception being Flying Class, but it wasn't horrible. The lowest score he'd gotten in Transfiguration had been an E. The lowest score he'd gotten in Flying Class had been a T. As for the other classes, he'd always gotten O's. Kim dreaded finding out what the reaction would be from his parents when they saw the T's. Maybe the blond would be able to dissuade them from looking at the report. Kim shook his head, trying to rid his mind of all stray thoughts. Right now, he was heading over to attend a meeting for the Essence of Music Club. It was taking place at 5:00PM, directly before dinner. At least it wasn't in the morning, that made him happy since he wouldn't have to get up ridiculously early for a meeting, like Noah tended to make them. Checking the time, Kim saw he was going to be right on time if he kept going at this speed and slowed his pace. He didn't like being a few minutes early or right on time. And yes, there happened to be a specific reason. It was a Kim reason. Either he'd be ten minutes early or he'd be a few minutes late. This was designed to avoid large groups of people. Approaching the rehearsal room, Kim stretched his hand out and turned the doorknob. As the door swung open, the blond noticed two people already inside. Only two? He checked the time again but it was five past the time the meeting had been supposed to start by. Perhaps most of the others were running a bit late. Well, that worked out for him! Two was perfect for him. The less people in the same room, the better. As Haley started to explain things to all of the members, Kim listened to her words. Everything sounded great to him so far and then Haley spoke to him. "Sure! I can do that." Kim told her, when Haley suggested they have a change in singers at a particular point in time. He liked her ideas and wondered what Pax would think of all of this. It was nice to see a familiar face and he wondered if they would all come together for one song, or if they would get split up into different groups for different songs. He glanced over at Haley for a brief moment, wondering how she'd hold the meeting with only three of them present. Would they wait for the others to show up first before getting started with it? Or add them in later? Time passed and eventually the meeting came to an end for them all. But the first meeting seemed to have been a relative success. The Rehearsal Room was one of Simon's favorite rooms in the entire castle and he entered that day, glad to be having practice for the band that Haley Rose had organized. The Heartbreakers. He wasn't so sure on the name, but hey, it was a group thing and sometimes you had to compromise. Simon was excited, not nervous. He was used to performing in front of others for the Children's Choir at Church and for Choir back at his muggle school. Plus, this was just practice and maybe it would prepare him for when he would be singing in front of nearly all of London so it would seem, at a concert in about a month's time.
Simon was glad they were doing a Motown Song - "I Can't Help Myself" from the Four Tops. It was one of his personal favorites. He would have been lying if he said that when Haley wasn't delegating out positions to everyone that he wasn't hoping for the lead in the song. He could channel his inner Levi Stubbs and do him proud!
"Aww, yea!" he said and clapped his hands together when she made the suggestion that he do it. He walked over to where the lyrics were written out but honestly, he didn't need them. He knew this song like none other - as it was one of the most well known Motown Hits and that was one of his favorite genres.
"You've got good taste, Hales. Good taste," he said as his eyes skimmed over the lyrics just to make sure but yes, he was certain - he had this.
