The Hufflepuff Table 2018-2019
Elena watched as another kid got sorted into Hufflepuff, he was being ushered by a bunch of students who appeared to be talking to him, but this kid seemed all nervous. Almost as much as Elena was, although she could tell he wasn't a Half Blood. He sat down next to them and spoke "Hey, I'm Kent, sorry to interrupt," he continued "Could I... could you tell me what is going on? Apparently I'm Muggle-born, and wasn't prepared for any of this. I have no idea what a Hufflepuffy is, or what I'm meant to do here, except learn magic... and that sounds absurd to me." Elena then knew exactly what to say, she felt good for trying to help someone. "Wow, you look a lot more nervous that me," Elena said "My names Elena, and Hufflepuff is the house that your going to be in, basically a house is like an equivalent to a huge dorm." she continued "Don't worry, there are plenty of Muggle Borns here at Hogwarts as well, who most likely have no clue why there here," she finished. "Do you want to tell me what those kids where saying to you, I think I can help especially if you need me to go into more explanation," Elena offered. If this kid didn't know anything about Hogwarts she might as well fill him in, it felt like her obligatory right to. Today she was here think she was nervous about coming to Hogwarts, this kid trumped her by a mile and a half. Kent was just as nervous as her and Elena felt it would be better if she could help him out a bit.

Kent scoffed, as he nodded.
"Damn right I'm confused, you can bet on that," He said with a nervous chuckle. "It's good to meet you, Elena. And thanks, it helps having people willing to explain a thing or two. I'm surprised there's not some magical instruction booklet they send out to prepare us muggles, you know?"
Still, Kent thought back to what the other students had said, when they'd been leading him to the table and seat. It was all a blur, really, and the boy found it difficult to focus with all the weird, and kind of amazing, things happening all around. Magic was real, which was insane.
"Uh, they... they mentioned something about my favorite beast? I dog, I guess? A bear?" He shrugged, not sure what they meant. Unless they meant magical creatures, like dragons and unicorns and stuff. "Wait... are unicorns real? For real? What else is there?"
Kent perked up, and pointed as though he had an idea.
"Oh! They also said something about dadda, whatever that is?"
The boy reached out and took hold of a goblet, before he lifted it to his nose and took a sniff. It smelled sweet, like berries, but had the consistency of sludge. Kent took a small sip, tasting the odd beverage, before he decided he liked it and took another gulp. It was around this time the boy next to him got excited and knocked the taller boy's arm, sending some of the drinking splashing onto the table...
"Hey, moron," Kent muttered, glaring as he leaned in to the other lad. "Watch it. Or I'll introduce your face to the table."

Whoa, this guy was serious. Verla had walked into the great hall with a beautiful smile on her face. She walked past a guy who said "hey moron, watch it, or I'll introduce your face to the table." Verla wanted to stay away from a guy like him, how in the world did he get into Hufflepuff?
Fed up with his rudeness, Verla stood behind him "that was extremely rude you know, maybe you should watch it, or you'll be looking into the eyes of the headmaster." Verla threatened to tell. What a stupid threat, but she wasn't a mean person.
She sat down next to Elena and smiled at her, she'd met her in the girls dormitory. "You said something about being confused here? I can help if you'd like, Dadda is actualy DADA which stands for Defense Against the Dark Arts. I believe the headmaster of Slytherin is the teacher of that one, right Elena? Anyway, I've Verla, and you are?"
How was she being nice to a complete and rude stranger? After her pity threat, she didn't feel bad, he was just confused and needed help sorting things out, and she would be willing to help him if he agreed to be at least nice to an extent, and she said so too.

Kent answered with "Damn right I'm confused, you can bet on that," he continued "It's good to meet you, Elena. And thanks, it helps having people willing to explain a thing or two. I'm surprised there's not some magical instruction booklet they send out to prepare us muggles, you know?". Kent continued on about what the kids were asking him, it was about his favorite beast he even asked if Unicorns were real, she laughed a little at that. He also said that the kids talked about DADA, which Elena knew could confuse just about anyone if they were knew to magic. He picked up a drink from the table and watched as someone moved his arm. Elena then saw Verla who she had recently met "That was extremely rude you know, maybe you should watch it, or you'll be looking into the eyes of the headmaster." Verla then sat down and smiled at her, "You said something about being confused here? I can help if you'd like, Dadda is actually DADA which stands for Defense Against the Dark Arts. I believe the headmaster of Slytherin is the teacher of that one, right Elena? Anyway, I've Verla, and you are?" she continued. "Yeah, as Verla explained Dada is Defense against the dark arts, and the beasts they were referring too, they weren't talking about dogs thats for sure, just think about it, your in a magical world now," Elena said "Yes Unicorns are very, very real my Aunt told me if you drink the blood from a Unicorn, you live at that moment but die soon after," she went on "Also there are two more types of Blood Purity here at Hogwarts, Muggle Born is like what you are you come from almost no blood purity at all, the magic basically finds you and Muggle means non magical human. Second is Half Blood you have one magical parent, usually half blood, and one non magical parent, I'm a halfblood, The 3rd one is Pure Blood the magic you possess is immense and some Pure Bloods but not all here don't like Muggles like you because you don't possess the blood they have," Elena ended. "So if you tend to like to pick fights with some people here, watch who you do it with, I haven't been here long but I know there will be Purebloods who will not like you attitude," Elena leaned in addressing his quick anger to the kid.

Verla nodded in agreement. "I'm a half-blood too. My grandmother was a witch and it must've skipped a generation, so when my mother had me, I was born with a magical blood, my father is a muggle. But I agree with Elena, you should be careful who you pick fight with. That's extremely important in case you pick a fight with the head boy or girl, or one of the prefects. That would not be good. But funny to see to say the least. Sorry if that upsets you, but it's true." Verla giggled her cute little giggle which made most of the boys around her sigh with awe. It grossed her out and she was glad she wasn't part Veela. But her looks made everyone's heads turn.
She was extremely beautiful no doubt, and she didn't even try. Anyone could be in love with anyone and they'd still wish they were with her. She had a feeling the boy would be different. Which she though was cute. He was really cute. So she whispered in Elena's ear "isn't he cute?" she teased. Verla chuckled and grabbed some chicken and began to eat it. She was pretty hungry for a girl her size, she wasn't very tall, nor big.

Elena saw Verla nod in agreement. Elena watched as Verla went on about how her family was just like hers how she had one muggle parent and one blood parent. To Elena it felt kind of nice how she could relate with someone here at Hogwarts, especially someone sweet like Verla. Verla then giggled which attracted the attention of some of the other boys in the area. Verla then leaned into her ear and said "isn't he cute?". Verla chuckled and grabbed some chicken. Elena had no idea what she saw in him, with his quick temper and all. She leaned over to whisper back "Cute, but what a temper, personally I think that one is cute," she said with dramatic flair as she pointed to a Gryffindor who had dark blonde hair he was sitting next to a kid with black hair, a second year no doubt cause he looked like he knew what he was doing. "Well I do agree with my colleague here, if you pick a fight with the wrong person who knows what could happen," she said shuddering, she then leaned back to Verla and whispered "Who's that boy over there at the Gryffindor table, sitting next to the kid with almost back hair?".

Before Elena could reply, some random redhead appeared and scolded Kent for standing up for himself. Without even knowing him, she presumed to understand him, and immediately accused him as being rude and threatening him with snitching to the Headmaster...
"You a snitch?" Kent asked the girl, ignoring her lecture about rudeness. "You going to run to the Headmaster and tell him I said something 'mean' to someone who knocked me?"
And just like that, she continued, which made Kent blink. Was she trying to reprimand him, or answer his questions? Were all the kids in this school bipolar, or was it the ones with special magical blood? Either way, Kent listened, the expression on his face showing he didn't really care for the girl or speaking with her, especially if she was a snitch. Growing up in South London, Kent had dealt with his fair share of bullies, thugs, violence and snitches...
"I'm Kent," The tall boy said slowly, eyes narrowed. "And thanks for that, I guess?"
That's when Elena spoke up, which Kent turned and listened to her, smiling. She at least seemed nice, and seemed more informative, and didn't threaten to go tell on Kent to the Headmaster. The information came in a blur, as the boy nodded, taking in what he could. DADA was Defense Against the Dark Artists, beasts didn't imply dogs, unicorns were real, drinking their blood was bad (who would even do that?), and there were a bunch of selective cliques based on bloodline in the school. It seemed to be similar to Muggle schools, then, with the rich kids segregating the poor kids, and forming groups based on other stupid things.
Awesome, great to know every part of society is lame.
Kent went to say something, but Verla interrupted again, and spoke about being something bloodline. He didn't care. When she was done, giving a giggle like a preppy schoolgirl, Kent rolled his eyes and sighed.
"You interrupt people's conversations, and you're kind of annoying... sorry if that upsets you, but it's true," Kent said, shaking his head. Verla would not be someone Kent considered a friend, not anytime soon. He didn't need her superiority complex around. "Anyway, thanks for the help, Elena. Hopefully I'll see you around, maybe we can talk more. But I kind of want to head to bed, and someone mentioned in the hat line that I would be assigned a dorm... so catch you round."
Standing up, Kent smiled at Elena, ignored Verla, and walked away to the entrance...

Kent then quickly replied to Verla, pretty harshly at that too, "You a snitch?" he continued "You going to run to the Headmaster and tell him I said something 'mean' to someone who knocked me?" he finished. For a majority of the rest of the time, he appeared to be listening to Verla but not fully. Kent then said, most likely to Verla "I'm Kent," narrowing his eyes "And thanks for that, I guess?". When it was time for Elena to speak he seemed to listen all the way through. Verla said about her bloodline to which she giggled. Elena saw the look on his face, which implied he didn't care one bit. Kent got his final word in "You interrupt people's conversations, and you're kind of annoying... sorry if that upsets you, but it's true," shaking his head he continued "Anyway, thanks for the help, Elena. Hopefully I'll see you around, maybe we can talk more. But I kind of want to head to bed, and someone mentioned in the hat line that I would be assigned a dorm... so catch you round.". He got up from the table smiled at Elena, almost completely ignored Verla and left. When he was gone and out of sight Elena turned to her classmate "Really, he's the guy you like?" Elena said with one eyebrow perched in confusion. Elena was first astounded when Kent got a little bit upset about what Verla said, and then was incredibly more astounded when Kent full on almost went off on Verla. He had a very short temper and would be one person Elena would watch what she says to him. Elena was worried that if she didn't watch what she said to Kent and offended him in any way, she could be the next person he goes off on, for an 11 year old his anger was off the charts, Even though Elena knew if was mostly fueled by fear of becoming a Wizard. But as a friend, this was not something she would need to say to Verla.

Miko looked at the others talking and watched Kent walking away. He had been eavesdropping but not on purpose. I mean, they were right beside him and he even heard what Verla said about Kent being cute or something like that which he thought was weird because to Miko he didn't look that good. But judging by what Kent said clearly he was hot-headed and the boy decided to just not talk to him.
He scribbled down a few notes about the things Kent said such as He speaks his mind but sometimes I'd rather him shut his mouth. or That boy is kind of rude, he needs to learn some manners.. Miko stayed silent watching and listening in on the conversation "Really, he's the guy you like?" Elena said with one eyebrow perched in confusion. Actually Miko was thinking the same thing, how could someone as nice as Verla like someone so short tempered as Kent? Guess it's a girl thing I dunno.
The boy wanted to say something to them but thought it would be better if he stay quiet like the weirdo that he was. Miko reached for a goblet with a weird purple goo thing in it and took a swig. "Meh" he said in thought trying to decide whether he enjoyed the drink or just no. After he thought for a bit about this he decided that the drink was actually pretty good and he finished the goblet. Once he finished the goop Miko placed down the goblet and waited for that Verla girl to answer the question.

The Hufflepuff Table 2018-2019
~ Open to Interactions ~
..If you dare..
Dorothy stepped briskly into the great hall. The chatter and giggling of children filled her ears and reverberated throughout the room. The blonde rolled her stormy grey eyes as she stepped down the center aisle, heading for the Hufflepuff table. The Hufflepuff table. Few things truly disgusted Dorothy Shafiq, but the yellow house gave her utmost repugnance. Perhaps it was the color. Yellow never did suit her. Yes, the uniforms certainly added to her discomfort, but the students in Hufflepuff were vulgar! Always friendly, silly, giggly little mudbloods. Serena Towers was the only Hufflepuff she knew of that wasn't an absolute pain to converse with (and the only pureblood she had met in the house). The others were constantly cheery, ridiculously well-tempered, and unbelievably dull. Dorothy could NOT STAND IT.
She glanced enviously at the Gryffindor table. At least they were known for something interesting. Even their house ghost was engrossing. The Hufflepuffs had a stinking friar. Dorothy's school shoes still managed to make a lovely clicking noise as she strutted down the aisle. Growing weary of walking with her arms full of mail, she took a seat on one of the long benches. It didn't take her long to realize she had sat by the silliest girls in the school. Whispers of "He's cute" and "rude purebloods" tickled her ears like an annoying fruit fly. Who on earth would think of boys as cute!? Did these kids really not comprehend the dangers of cooties? The idiocy of the phrases tempted the blonde to turn to them with some choice words. Of course she wouldn't. These half-blooded goons were not worth her valuable time.
Heaving an exasperated sigh, Dorothy turned her attention to the objects she had laid on the table. One of the packages was from her stepmother, Merideth Shafiq. The tall girl aristocratically poured herself a cup of warm tea. It was lovely of the professors to make sure that tea was present on the dining tables. She took a small sip of the beverage before placing it down quickly, and touching the roof of her mouth with the tip of her tongue. A rough, tingling sensation informed her that it had been burnt. Pity. Gently scooting the teacup and saucer aside, Dorothy pulled one of the parcels closer. She ripped it opened, turning the corners of mouth her up in a satisfied smirk as she observed its contents. The package was filled with exotic candies, a folded tapestry containing her family crest, and several articles of jewelry. A small note was taped to one of the dazzling strings of ametrine.
My daughter, Dorothea Shafiq,
Attached are a few little gifts to celebrate something monumental. I've finally managed to purchase the ghaniun mines I've pursued for many months . The gems were of the first collected from it, and are enchanted with a mind enhancing spell. I had the tapestry commissioned from a reputable company. Use these gifts to bring honor to our name.
-Merideth A. Shafiq
Still smirking, she visibly laid the necklaces on top of the folded tapestry and sat them both on the bench beside her. The candy was poured into her robe pockets, for later. Her stepmothers gifts were excepted, even if the motives for sending them were obviously self-centered. A girl to the left of her giggled loudly. Her eyes again found the ceiling, and she decided to open the rest of the mail later and take part in the meal so she could leave the table as soon as possible. Dorothy took a few dainty tidbits of the food around her before eating her meal with irrefutably good manners. She only hoped the others wouldn't bother to address her.
