To Valentin | From "Romeo"
Received 14/2/23
This letter would arrive with the most immaculate timing known to man; only a few minutes after Valentin had sent his letter to Romeo concerning his desire to have the Britalian serve as the albino's new "Special Person" for the events of Hexwizard Tournament. Who had sent this letter but Romeo himself, oddly enough, with a subject that seemed rather innocent and innocuous on the surface. Yes, it was rather sudden... but perhaps it was simply a whim of Romeo's to have sent something of this level to his team captain and his Champion. It read as follows:
Legible Version:Valentin,
I know that this request may seem somewhat out of the blue, but with the next Hexwizard tournament event and subsequent return to Hogwarts quickly approaching us, I realize that as a former student of Hogwarts I've probably never had the chance to show you (or the rest of the Horde for that matter) around one of the places that Hogwarts is known for; the attraction of Hogsmeade.
If you would like, the next time we go to Hogwarts I could get us a weekend pass to Hogsmeade so we could walk around, see the sights, and maybe have a butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks. It's world famous, from what I hear. It could be a team bonding exercise, or an excuse to unwind and simply enjoy ourselves.
Ciao,

“‘I’ve probably never shown you Hogsmeade?’ What?” Valentin scratched the back of his head as he examined the letter. The captain knew that Romeo had taken his share of bludgers to the head, just as Valentin had, but surely the beater would be confident in his memory of whether they’d shared such a trip…? Yet, just look at the handwriting... No, no, I bet he’s just tired. Very tired. He’s been working himself so hard at the studies, along with his side pursuits… Maybe it’s a migraine again. Poor Rome. I should find some way to take some of his burden this week.
With a sigh, Valentin continued to read, only to scratch his head more. Butterbeer? I thought Rome knew I didn’t care for the stuff… well… probably still tired. Sometimes his memory goes, I guess. I hope he’s feeling okay.
Val stretched his back and neck, still a bit befuddled by the assertively friendly offer. Rome was almost always passive or downright shy about social opportunities. “Hmm…” Team bonding? I guess I should notify everyone at our next meet… No, earlier...
Taking a long self-inking quill, made from one of Kostroma’s shed wing feathers from when she was still under Valentin’s care, the captain began a reply on his usual sky-blue stationery.
Sealing the scroll with his standard irreparable wax imprint, Valentin smirked with anticipation. “Here, Kupalo, could you take this to Romeo?” Valya affectionately stroked one of the owl's ears in the way he knew would bring pleasure. Kupalo and Val went way back... back to Kupalo's and Kostroma's very hatching.

Romeo,
What a pleasant surprise. I’m sure you can feel my smile from the other side of the castle by now. I’d be happy to accompany you for the team bonding and relaxation excursion. You’ve been working yourself into the ground lately and you have truly earned a nice trip like this. Don't worry about notifying the rest of the team - I'll invite everybody at dinner tonight so that they have something to look forward to. Also, why don’t you get a few extra hours of sleep tonight and come to practice late. I can solo the mob’s morning circuit this round.
Your captain,
Valentin

Kupalo remembered his nest father well, but as kind as he was, and smart too... he was also extremely eager to please and always followed instructions well. The letter would be returned to the sender of the strange first letter who had instructed the creature should that conditional event be met; If Valentin wants the letter to be sent to Romeo... bring it to me instead.
However, a painful gap would be present between the first and the second; markers of a secret transaction occurring behind the scenes with someone very close to both Romeo and Valentin. However, this could just as easily fold back into play, as perhaps the sender was banking on the knowledge that Romeo had a tendency to be rather... deliberate in his wordings. Indeed, the introverted (tree) boy could take a while to formulate the right comeback after being reduced to silence for a few seconds, trying to come up with the right way to phrase a thought or the correct way to word an idea.
Regardless... this letter would arrive on the 18th of February...
Legible Version:

Valentin,
Thank you so much for such a quick response. I hope you can forgive me for the delay in mine.
I just hope that it won't be a repeat of Hogwarts' fall ball in any way. For some reason it generally seems to be quite the unfortunate magnet for misfortune, as I've learned. I'm sure the team will enjoy Hogsmeade; it has a little bit of everything for everyone. Even if we can't figure out just one thing to do, I'm sure that everyone will have a fine time. Maybe we could take a load off for once.
Anyways, I'll be fine. Don't worry over me too much; I care about the team, and I care about you. I'll always try to do the best for the team first. They deserve it.
