New Acquaintance by the Lakeside
Charlotte was sitting at the edge of the Great Lake, deep in thought. With so much on her mind, she barely had time to escape. She was going to write a letter to her mother, to give to her twin siblings, but she didn't go to the library where she had been planning to go. She found herself sitting at the edge of the lake, far from her origanal destination. But she didn't mind it much. It was quiet, much more quiet then the library was. She soon shut her eyes...
Charlotte shot awake to the sound of footsteps. She hadn't even realized she was asleep. 'What time is it?' She thougjht, 'And who do those footsteps belong too?' She stood, composing herself, brushing bits of grass and dirt away from her outfit and hair. She grabbed her things, ready to face whatever the cause of the footsteps were. She still heard them, but she didn't know of they knew she was there, as she remained perfectly silent and still, watching the underbrush where the sound was coming from. She could take whoever it was... Hopefully... And if not... Well she was a fast runner and great at hiding. Surely she was fine.
